(NASB95) Those who teach a pre-Trib “rapture” are sons of Gehenna… they are AGAINST CHRIST! This is why… That one false teaching will be the catalyst for the Great Apostasy! When “Christians” witness the undeniable signs of the Tribulation and realize they were not “beamed up” to Heaven, they will lose faith! They will be rocked to their foundations and question: “I’m a believer. Why wasn’t I good enough?” Likewise, these are the same false teachers who twist Paul’s epistles to suit their agenda. What both say is true, but the timeline is different for the latter. Most people don’t realize that there are three resurrections in the future: * Enoch and Elijah, the two witnesses of Revelation, after they are killed by Leviathan (the beast of the sea/abyss) in the streets of Jerusalem where their dead bodies will lie for three Biblical yomim (“evenings” and “mornings” per Genesis 1) towards the conclusion of the Tribulation. * Those beheaded for Christ DURING the Tribulation. They will serve as priests of the order of Melchizedek (Heb. Malki-tsedeq) during His Millennial Reign (and beyond!) on Earth immediately after the Second Coming. Also, the righteous elect who endure/survive the Tribulation. This is what Paul is referencing in 1 Thessalonians 4 et al. Note: They aren’t taken up into Heaven but to Jerusalem. Those in pulpits “tickle the ears” of their congregations by telling them what they want to hear. The true church was called The Way (Gr. tēn Hodon/Heb. Interestingly, there are various perspectives within the Life In Messiah team regarding the end times chronology as the Bible predicts it. We would say that a person's position on when the return of Messiah takes place is less critical than one's soteriology-than one's theology on salvation. Your point is understood that you feel those who teach a pre-Trib "rapture" are working against Messiah because you believe believers will go through the Tribulation (end times troubles on planet earth). Your point was that believers who expect not to have to experience the troubles will feel abandoned if they do, in fact, end up going through the troubles. There are sincere people who hold pre-, mid-, and post-tribulation perspectives that are, in fact, saved by faith in Messiah.
