We call what you would call fries: Hot chips. And we call crisps chips. But whenever we get some hot chips from hungry jacks for instance we wouldnt bother calling them hot chips because that is the only chips they have.
Hungry Jacks is basically BK’ It is named Hungry Jacks because there was a restaurant called Burger King. Burger King tried to sue the restaurant but they lost
In australia we typically call the thicker cut (chicken shop/aussie kfc for example) fries: chips. and call the thinner cut (maccas for example) fries: fries. packet potato chips are chips too. we also use a different cut of bacon, i think its called back bacon instead of american streaky bacon. give oportos a go
@BenDeen to me, Sandwich is the blanket term for using different types of bread as means to hold other food items or ingredients. It can be broken down into different categories like burgers, baguettes and burritos etc. Those can also be broken down into even further sub-categories but in general, Burgers are made using ground meats shaped into patties normally, but burgers have evolved over time to include other things like fired chicken, Haloumi and mushrooms which are all also types of burger sub-categories.
Bro I live in Melbourne and have been watching your videos for a long time now.. You need to try ‘El jannah’s and also Carls jr. I hope you are enjoying Melbourne, have a mighty fine day ❤️
Burger King/Hungry Jacks fries used to be limp and shitty like McDonalds ones, but years ago they changed them up to be slightly chunkier and crispier, so they actually have a bit of potato in the center and don't completely fall apart into floppy garbage when they go soft. Otherwise, yeah this is a case of where the food is good when it's fresh and hot, but they get cold weirdly fast and are much more of a struggle to eat when they do.
April fools Ben 😂 I felt like watching it upside down haha. I’m glad you tried our hungry jacks, I love this burgers they are awesome. Thanks for trying out our food chains 😊
Both are recent foreign importations. For the real Australian McCoy go to a fish and chip shop in the middle of nowhere, where there’s a mildly hostile yet hospitable lady behind the counter, a baine-marie at the front with pluto pups from the day before sitting under a heat lamp, and order “the works burger” or “burger with The Lot” - lettuce, tomato, beetroot, fried onions, bacon, pineapple and a fried egg, followed by two options: tomato sauce or bbq. No mayonnaise, no pickles, no coleslaw, no other condiments or additives, and when I was growing up no cheese. That’s the real Aussie experience. Wash it down with a Kirks in a can.
The "Angry Whopper" should've came with Onion rings, Jalapenos, vegetable, cheese, and spicy sauce...along with the usual mayo and etc. Not sure why the Burger King in US don't sell them anymore, that burger was good.💯
in regards to the name change from burger king to hungry jacks , theres a good video on the legal battle somewhere on youtube that is pretty interesting
In some countries, anything on a bun is called a "burger." Here in the U.S., a food item in a restaurant can't be called a burger unless it's made from a ground meat patty. Everything else is a "sandwich." Years ago, Taco Bell had an item called the "Bellburger" but had to change the name when the government got involved because it was more of a Mexican style Sloppy Joe (loose taco meat on a bun) than a hamburger. They changed the name to "Bellbeefer."
@@muzikkification it’s in a burger bun so it’s a burger. If it was in a muffin it’s a muffin, in a baguette it’s a baguette if it’s a toasted sandwich it’s a toastie. If it’s in a wrap that’s a wrap
Same in the U.K. most places will get your order correct minus the sauces, 9/10 times when I order from McDonald’s via delivery I don’t get a single sauce pot.
*bit of trivia for ya's when hungry jacks first opened in the city of melbourne they actually flame grilled the patties on a conveyor belt grill over a flame, they would come freshly grilled and were juicy and amazing, not like the microwaved shit they serve customers these days

Judging by where you are (near circular Quay) I used to work at that same Hungry jacks and it is one of the worst places to work or even eat at, the managers dont give a crap and burgers stay in que for well over the time limit.
As an Australian, the video looks normal to me. I don’t know what you guys are talking about.

Every time I get chips from there they are stone cold 😵💫
Australian is a complex language indeed

Don’t think he will because the closest to the CBD is Preston. Looks like he’s somewhere near the Docklands.
Nando's is good as well
El Jannah would be a great choice - think he’s done Nandos
Oporto’s chicken is decent too
yeah Mark weinz ate it sydney
He comes from the only country in the world that calls it a chicken “sandwich”, yet tries to tell everyone else they’re wrong.

Try "Betty's burgers"for unhealthy American style burgers or "grill'd" for healthy burgers, both are mighty fine

Fish sandwich, chicken sandwich...sounds right to me.
yes we call both fries and crisps chips, we kinda messed up on that one tbh

It's sad they didn't give you your spicy sauce, spicy sauce is the best fast food sauce you can buy, it's absolutely amazing.
Please do this for an entire year
we call fries 'hot chips' down under , differentiated i think yes lol
to differentiate in 🇦🇺 the chip term it's usually
potato chips (snack)
hot chips (fries)
