i think he's programmed to go for the last attacker instead of closest target, if they were all melee attackers then he wouldnt use his laser attack but there are mages and ranged-attackers too so that should explain it (?)
Hawkwood is always among the last ones standing. Sirris is more of a 50/50, depending on whether or not she has time to cast her heal. She died pretty early the second time.

He'll start rampaging and swinging his head around so you can't attack his weak spot. The tracking on his laser will also adjust for the number of phantoms, meaning it will swing around like crazy.

Well, that’s disappointing, but sorta expected: not only does Midir have hyper armor to negate the advantage of numbers and the threat being surrounded, but his aggression, AoE attacks, and constant movement across the map mean that a lot of time, the NPCs are left chasing after him, just even to land a hit. This problem only worsens as more NPCs die, so if they ever had a hope of winning this, it’s taking Midir down quick and fast. He will beat them down in a game of attrition every time.
Yep, once the NPCs start losing people, their damage output drops significantly. By a certain point in both fights, it became impossible for them to win. They just couldn't deal enough damage.

Speaking of which, do you intend to use Hodrick (the summon) in some battles, his NG+7 self could probably take on multiple bosses at once... ah; and the return of the Last Ringed Knight and Millwood Chieftain series
This was great! I would also love to see more NPC teams go up against Midir, such as the 'All Summonable NPCs' team and the 'All Invading NPCs' team from previous videos.
Fights like this really put the accomplishments of The Ashen One into perspective. Everyone here that went up against Midir is a legend in their own right.
It feels like i was watching a raid group getting ready to take on the last fight for the win, and while everyone seems calm, cool, and confident, there was that one person in that line up just nervously chuckling and going 'we're gonna fuckin' die, aren't we?'

It's not so much "beating Midir" as it is finding a world in which Midir *could" be beaten. *LORE:* In a previous age, Champion Gundyr failed to link the First Flame. In desperation, Ludleth did _something_ that broke the flow of time and give the First Flame a few more fleeting moments so anither champion could arise. The exact mechanics behind this are unknown, but whatever he did created the Untended Graves, an area completely disconnected from the real world. Ludleth is the only person who is 100% aware of the Untended Graves. The Fire Keeper is deliberately kept in the Dark, and the Shrine Handmaiden will only recall it as a distant memory, and even then only in very specific situations. Ludleth will outright admit to his actions, but he really doesn't care what the Ashen One does; he's already seen the worst possible outcome, and he knows it's only a matter of time.

I would think that he may have been the greatest Souls player outside of Gael and the Ashen One (Usurper route).

My opinion, the main reason why shrine team loses is that are designed to fight with humanoid enemies. Everyone keeps locking on his torso, only range attacks can hit, the melee combaters can't recognize they only can hit 4 legs , head and tail and just swing to the air so midir actually just takes a small of dmg they could do. If enemy has hitboxes that they can ez to hit like gael, SoC, Pontiff or Aldrich, they may have a chance to win
When they are all spread around Midir and fight him, it reminds me of old WoW raids. They got all kinds of dps and tanks, but unfortunately no healers :D

Maybe because she doesnt fight against you, idk i got her only once and never tried killing her

My opinion, the main reason why shrine team loses is that are designed to fight with humanoid enemies. Everyone keeps locking on his torso, only range attacks can hit, the melee combaters can't recognize they only can hit 4 legs , head and tail and just swing to the air so midir actually just takes a small of dmg they could do. If enemy has hitboxes that they can ez to hit like gael, SoC, Pontiff or Aldrich, they may have a chance to win
When they are all spread around Midir and fight him, it reminds me of old WoW raids. They got all kinds of dps and tanks, but unfortunately no healers :D
That entire enchange between 2:05 and 3:05 was Sirris being an absolute mad lass but nonetheless gloriously giving paladins a good name
