@@rexlumontad5644 I’m not so sure. In the context of Dark Souls lore, it could be implied that, while the Linking ending might be one of the last time the First Flame is linked again, if it ever comes down to what are essentially a bunch of civilians - instead of a dedicated champion - that THIS would be the LAST time the Flame could be linked. I mean, while these guys are certainly strong, they’re effectively IT when I comes down to it. There’s NOBODY left after this except the mindless hallows and Abyss creatures.
Just an idea but it would be cool to have some sort of "results" screen after each round, showing who died and in what order they go down. It would help a lot in battles with lots of different enemies or NPCs, to understand what's going, as it can be hard to see.
Patches almost did it. When he stunned SoC with that charged power attack I actually thought he was actually going to do it and finish him off. Almost unbreakable.
POV: Somehow, sometime, the Ashen One failed. They opened the path to the Kiln, slew the traitorous Lords, and saved their allies from cruel fates. But it mattered not, for their final foe, the Soul of the Lords, altered destiny with a single blow. No ash could reform in the cursed Kiln, and as the many Unkindled that came before them, the Ashen One met their end. The Fire Keeper, ever faithful and loving, felt within her heart of hearts of their champions end. But where sadness should've prevailed, only pure, blinding *rage* was found. She let out a cry, one that rallied the many forces of the Shrine to her side. Telling them the sad end of the Ashen One, each pledged to finish what their dear friend started. They would venture through time and space, to the final resting grounds of their champion. And they would kill the monster that had claimed the Ashen One's life, *or* *die* *trying* . (A strange head canon for this video that I came up with while I was watching it. Probably stupid, but hey, it was a good bit of fun to write.)
A single poorly timed dodge, where the Soul of Cinder knew, if they struck now, the blow would be fatal, and so they did, a single thrust, piercing the chest of the Ashen One, and watched as their life faded from their eyes
And thus, The Ashen One's life slowly began to fade from the world itself. The Soul Of Cinder's flame ridden sword embedded itself into The Ashen One's chest, having pierced through them in one quick thrust. The Ashen One coughed, knowing well that their journey was soon to come to an end.. They felt their body slowly weaken, as their vision began to darken. The Champion who had journeyed across the lands, who had slayed the awoken Lords of Cinder, had finally met their match. They gazed upon the Soul of Cinder's expressionless face, a broken smile slowly forming on their force as drips of blood poured from both their wound, and mouth. They would slowly look past The Soul Of Cinder, gazing at the sky, and at the dark sign that cursed all undead. "I am sorry.. Everyone.. I will not be returning.. This time.." The Ashen One knew that this was the last time they would ever view the world. Memories flew through their mind of everything they had done up until now. The Ashen One continued to smile.. As everything faded to black, their body.. Slowly fading into Ash once more..
Patches at the end of the first fight: Well come on then, Gwynny boy. I don't have all day to clean out ash and embers. Gwyn: You're that storm cursed bastard that kicked me into the first flame. I'm going to enjoy burning you, monster! *Gwyn slaps Patches around a bit * Patches: Come on you old burnt out hollow, I'm Unbreakable Patches! The first flame will burn out and the abyss will be as bright as Oolacile before I'm dead. *Patches shakes out his empty estus flask.* Patches: Oh... well then, all out of second chances I suppose... *Maniacal Laughter* You don't deserve a death by a thousand cuts, so here's one good one! *Thrusts* *Gwyn stumbles* Patches: And stay down! *Gwyn gets up* Patches: *Grumbles* You kings are always much too prideful. Real talk, a few NPCs saved the fight. Whenever SoC Phase 2 was about to do his god-tier combo, someone managed to stop him in time. Horace for example did his charge attack, managing to save the group because I am pretty sure they would of lost Round 2 without him doing that.

Horace went "TANK THIS YOU FILTHY CASUL"
I’d argue Eygon the tank that he is with that poise buffed wrath of the gods was a valuable asset

so I kept looking at it, and I am pretty sure it is orbeck who manages to stop the attack (with the help of Horace I will admit) which just baffles me.

If you think so, this fight is quite thematically well done. Imagine the irony that Gwyn in the Soul of Cinders was defeated by a group of unkindled ash and cursed undeads created by Gwyn's own sin of not succumbing to the natural order by starting the process of rekindling the first flame, which ultimately took away humanity's inheritance and also led to the destruction of the world.

I’m not so sure.

It would help a lot in battles with lots of different enemies or NPCs, to understand what's going, as it can be hard to see.
i second this!!!!
Actually good idea.

Its hard to keep count of who dies, especially since some are less distinctive than others, as well as camera angles not getting everyone

Nice
This is ridiculously well written. Now I want a show where the “chosen one” dies and his friends are the ones that takes down the bad guy.
You know, with that in mind, it's somehow even more tragic that it was who Patches fought on until ther bitter end...
