Why the hell did they change part with weapon in corpse!? It made sense, becuae they would see any weapon in coffin, but not the actall body. In DNT he puts full sized rocket launcher in coffin, and nobody notices it.
The part where Oberstein made himself as a shield in the OVA was not in actual novel where as here in the DNT version is what actually happened in the novel and even the dialogues are the exact same ones you’ll read in there. So that means the OVA is the one who has changes rather than the DNT ver in terms of following the actual source material. That’s why we need to stop regarding the DNT as a ‘remake’ from the OVA, but as another adaptation of the novel.

i think they still did it in this show, since ansbach told some soldiers to bring braunschweig's dead body into the infirmary to put the weapon inside him, but it was less obvious here
I prefer the ova scene for the animation and display for this scene, but the voice acting in the remake really portrays reinhard’s pain better. Both are beautiful, but the ova still remains my favorite

This goes to show, how loyal Kircheis was, 96% of the cast if put in Kircheis shoes, would likely let Reinhardt die or not react in time to save him, Kircheis is one of the few who would risk his life like this for no reward other than saving his childhood friend while losing the chance to build a family with his lover.

I think the weapon was hidden in the corpse or something...I guess Reinhard was too arrogant to have it properly searched. That is kinda one of his defining character traits. He nearly dies several times due to his arrogance.
Think about it, a dude comes to a fallout new vegas casino with a cane, are you going to assume it´s a cane sword and inspect the canes of every man who comes into the casino?? This situation is kinda similar, Reinhardt and pals had plenty of deserters from the enemy faction joining in, after the first dozens to hundreds and then thousands of deserters they were bound to let their guards down once the enemy leader went down. It´s like assuming a Dictator will always have their guards up and inspect everything in their lives to prevent assassinations, that may work or not, even if the dictator is on high guard it doesnt mean the people working under him/her will do the same, mistakes are bound to happen.
I really like the voice acting and music they choosed for this, It really gives me chills, I think is an improvement over the original, altough I like both. That being said it the weapon part in the new version takes too long is weird how everyone doesn´t take inmediate action.
Good thing I waited 4 months to watch this to get rid of the spoilers so sad that Kirchies had to die :( I thought they were gonna rule the Universe together.
Haven't watched the new one but in the OVA as well as the novel, admirals cannot bear arms when entering Reinhard's place. Kircheis used to be exempt from this rule but Oberstein criticized Reinhard for favoritism and then he applied the same rule for his friend as well. That's why Sieg reached for his gun initially.

@@John6700mc yes I would tend to think Oberstein did not want Kircheis interfering with what he envisioned the future to be for Reinhard nor prevent Reinahrd from making cold logical war decisions that Kircheis was unwilling to accept due to his own morals, and i don't think it's a coincidence the same moment he has his gun taken this assassination attempt happens. but how would Oberstein know Reinhard would not be killed? fucking bitchass Ansbach has a clear shot at Reinhard and would have succeeded in murdering him had Kircheis not lifted his arm. the fact Oberstein, in the OVA he jumps infront of Reinhard and i guess he doesn't do that here in the remake people are saying, doesn't really have a relevance but i think the idea of him jumping infront of the blast means he was ready to die for Reinhard and did not setup Kircheis. i don't know i probably have to rewatch everything
@@John6700mc Honestly I thought the reason why Oberstein did this was because he feared Kircheis position in the Empire, if anything ever happened to Reinhardt before he got a woman, Kircheis would be the successor for the empire by virtue of being Annerose´s lover, Oberstein probably didnt wanted to face the risk that Kircheis could jeopardize his machinations, but he also didnt wanted him Dead, just weakened in power before the rest of the court and yes vulnerable just like the other admirals if a assassination attempt was made.

@@realityisascam I like the original in how it portrays Oberstein after the assassination, you can tell he´s not finding fun having to act as Reinhardt´s "2nd hand goods pal", one bit, he also admits Kircheis death unbalances Reinhardt as both him and Kircheis acted as basically a devil and a angel speaking on each of Reinhardt´s ears throughout the series.
Its a mixture of a much better performance, much better direction and also the music perfectly mixing with the scene. The original used visuals as well to amplify the scene. This does not, simply showing it with no director talent at all. Plus, why does Reinhardt and Kircheis sound like gay lovers in a boys love vn here?
@@fearedjames Nah this is more faithful to the novel. Reinhard's VA also did a good job here. And if you think they sound gay then you probably watch too much BL. The only time they look gay is when Reinhard touches Kircheis' hair in his office. Just watch the comparison between the original and the remake, they're not that different.

the original is more subtle, but for anime watchers this version as more anime-y performance. I prefer reinhard's character in the ova.
