I want to share something personal here. Before Islam I used to have girlfriends and I would also masturate. When I accepted Islam I stopped dating and stopped masturbation. I started to look for a wife and fasting every other day. When I watched the video of Zakir Nayak I went back to masturbation thinking it is not a sin it lead me to other sins which I don't want to disclose. Then I watched this video of Shaykh Uthman and I cried and repented and once again I left this evil habit and now I am looking for a wife. I pray to Allah that Allah protect such scholars like Shaykh Uthman who protect us laymen from wrong path and show us the truth.

Mufti Uthman is right.I am fighting this addiction.Please pray for me.It always leaves me with terrible guilt.One thing is that your inner self/imam will always tell you what is right and I always have a bad feeling after this terrible act.One should continually struggle and leave this habbit and ask Allah for help.

Assalam Alaikum Sheikh, Jazak Allahu khair for your clarification, I have been a big admirer of Dr Zakir and he has done so much good for the ummah, I am sure you have already reached out to him, If not please do so, I would be really happy if he accepts his mistake and takes back his words as they are very influential in today's times. The only thing I can say is if someone feels guilty doing it, it can not be the right thing to do, Allah put the Guilt in us for a reason.

Like some people say you must do one size all over. Some say you can go do whatever. Some say 3 fingers difference. Where do we draw the line with imitation also? The Quranic verses used all appear to use the word chaste. When i look up the definition of chaste or chastity it all refers to sexual intercourse with a partner. Could you clear this up for me Sheikh?

Look on the MasjidRibat channel, the Shaykh explains the origin of birthdays. You will also get a equally good answer on the permissibility in the Al Madrasatu Al Umariyyah channel, in one of their Hot Seat videos. To put it simply, any eid (repeating holiday) other than adha and fitr is impermissible to celebrate in. Furthermore, birthdays have a pagan origin, which makes celebrating them even worse.
Dr Zakir Naik is expert in Comparitive Religion Study and External and Major Aspects of Islam but he is very weak in internal and complex fiqh issues and topics so for internal deen questions and fiqh questions should not be asked by Dr Zakir Naik
Then my question is if your wife can play with ur thing and u ejaculate (without intercourse), Is it not another form of masturbation? Would it then be considered Haram in that situation? I guess Not. Then what makes it different from self-masturbation. The Quran was revealed in the time when people knew nothing about the concept of masturbation so I don't think the ayat includes that. Not everything is addressed in the Quran. My brother Hanbali school see it haram in some conditions not in the origin For example marriage the priority is to enjoy with wife it is haram if you able to enjoy with her it is haram to enjoy in other ways or anyway else but for extreme necessity like if your wife is far away from you it is halal to do it with amah or by your left hand or do fasting so it is makroh in the jumhor of Hanbali school but it is haram in some conditions I think the evidences needs not only quoting also it needs feqeh and understanding in a big whole picture The main disagreement is the origin of Masturbation is it haram or makroh or halal And the correct view by looking into evidences is Makroh and about Hanbali school It is makrooh as jumhor but there is who maybe has illusion it is haram Thank you anyway

What gives Dr. Zakir Naik the authority to say what is halal and what is not? He could have just evaded this type of question because answering these questions are out of his scope yet he does that frequently which is completely wrong practice. And what's wrong with those people who ask him 'fiqhi' question? It's really a disaster.

Shaykh Uthman is a qualified Mufti but he doesn’t call himself a scholar or a Shaykh or a Mufti out of humbleness. We made this channel for his content, he didn’t make this title for himself.
Masturbation is not permissible according to the majority of predecessor and successor scholars. Wether he feard al-anat or not. Ibn abbas's opinion and what was attributed to imam ahmed about it, that it's only for that who feared al-anat - zina & liwat(fornication & sodomy) - immensely and feared for himself to fall into it, he is allowed to break his lust and anat. But who does it just for pleasure and out of a habit or remembering an image and imagining that he's having intercourse with her all that is haram, and not imam ahmed nor anyone else is saying that. But I heard Bukhari didn't add that Hadith to his book collection because the narrators of the Hadith weren't clear ig? I want to share something personal here. Before Islam I used to have girlfriends and I would also masturate. When I accepted Islam I stopped dating and stopped masturbation. I started to look for a wife and fasting every other day. When I watched the video of Zakir Nayak I went back to masturbation thinking it is not a sin it lead me to other sins which I don't want to disclose. Then I watched this video of Shaykh Uthman and I cried and repented and once again I left this evil habit and now I am looking for a wife. I pray to Allah that Allah protect such scholars like Shaykh Uthman who protect us laymen from wrong path and show us the truth.

The Quranic verses used all appear to use the word chaste. When i look up the definition of chaste or chastity it all refers to sexual intercourse with a partner. Could you clear this up for me Sheikh?

Look on the MasjidRibat channel, the Shaykh explains the origin of birthdays.
You will also get a equally good answer on the permissibility in the Al Madrasatu Al Umariyyah channel, in one of their Hot Seat videos.
To put it simply, any eid (repeating holiday) other than adha and fitr is impermissible to celebrate in. Furthermore, birthdays have a pagan origin, which makes celebrating them even worse.

Not everything is addressed in the Quran. Like the concept of Lesbianism, it's not mentioned. I'm not saying it's not bad I'm just saying not every issue and ruling is discussed in the Quran and Sunnah. Some things didnt exist 1400 years ago

For example marriage the priority is to enjoy with wife it is haram if you able to enjoy with her it is haram to enjoy in other ways or anyway else but for extreme necessity like if your wife is far away from you it is halal to do it with amah or by your left hand or do fasting so it is makroh in the jumhor of Hanbali school but it is haram in some conditions
I think the evidences needs not only quoting also it needs feqeh and understanding in a big whole picture
The main disagreement is the origin of Masturbation is it haram or makroh or halal
And the correct view by looking into evidences is Makroh and about Hanbali school It is makrooh as jumhor but there is who maybe has illusion it is haram

بإجماع الأمة كلها ، فإذ هو مباح فليس هنالك زيادة على المباح ، إلا التعمد لنزول المني ، فليس ذلك حراماً أصلاً ، لقول الله تعالى: (وقد فَصلَ لكم ما حرمَ عليكم) وليس هذا مما فصل لنا تحريمه فهو حلال ، لقوله تعالى: (خَلق لكم ما في الأرضِ جميعاً) إلا أننا نكرهه ، لأنه ليس من مكارم الأخلاق ، ولا من الفضائل".اهـ

قال قتادة: وقال الحسن في الرجل يستمني يعبث بذكره ينزل ، قال: "كانوا يفعلون في المغازي".
وعن جابر بن زيد أبي الشعثاء قال:
"هو ماؤك فأهرقه -يعني الاستمناء-".
وعن مجاهد قال:
"كان من مضى يأمرون شبابهم بالاستمناء يستعفون بذلك".
وعن الحسن: أنه كان لا يرى بأساً بالاستمناء.
وعن عمرو بن دينار: ما أرى بالاستمناء بأساً..".

قال الإمام ابن حزم رحمه الله بعد أن ساق هذه الآثار وغيرها:

يقول المجد رحمه الله في “المحرر” (2/154): “ويُباح لمن يخشى العَنَت أن يستمني بيده, فإن لم يَخشَهُ حرُم. وعنه: يُكره تنزيهاً” ا.هـ.
وقال في “الإنصاف” (26/466): “وعنهُ: يُكره. نقل ابن مَنْصور: (لا يُعجبني بلا ضرورة)” ا.هـ. المراد.
أبو حيان رحمه الله ، قالَ في: “البحر المحيط” (6/397): “وكان أحمد بن حنبل يُجيز الاستمناء ، لأنه فضلة من البدن ، فجاز إخراجها عن الحاجة ، كالفصد والحِجامة” ا.هـ.

“وأحمد بن حنبل على ورعه يُجوّز الاستمناء ، ويَحْتَج بإنه إخراجُ فَضْلةٍ من البدن ، فجازَ عند الحاجة ، أصلُه الفَصْد والحجامة” ا.هـ. المراد. وتَبِعه القرطبي رحمه الله في “الجامع” (12/105).
وقال ابن عابدين عليه رحمة الله :
( إن أراد - اي فعله للعادة السرية - تسكين الشهوات المفرطة الشاغلة للقلب ، وكان عزباً لا زوجة لـه ولا أمة ، أو كان لـه زوجة إلا أنه لا يقدر على الوصول إليها بعذر ، قال أبو الليث : أرجو أن لا وبال عليه)

وقد قال الإمام الصنعاني رحمة الله :
( وهذه الآثار تدور في فلك تلك الأقوال التي تدل على عدم حرمة الاستمناء )

ويقول الشيخ سيد سابق في كتابه “فقه السنة” (المجلد الثاني، الطبعة الثامنة، 1407هـ - 1987م، دار الكتاب العربي، بيروت.. صفحة 388 - 390)
((استمناء الرجل بيده مما يتنافى مع ما ينبغي أن يكون عليه الإنسان من الأدب وحسن الخلق، وقد اختلف الفقهاء في حكمه: فمنهم من رأى أنه حرام مطلقًا، ومنهم من رأى أنه حرام في بعض الحالات وواجب في بعضها الآخر، ومنهم من ذهب إلى القول بكراهته)). انتهى
قال الامام الشوكاني رحمة الله عليه :
((ليس في كتاب الله ولا سنة رسول الله دليل صحيح ولا ضعيف يقتضي تحريم الاستمناء ))

أخرج البيهقي في سننه الكبرى (7\199): أخبرنا أبو زكريا بن أبي إسحاق المزكي أنبأ أبو عبد الله بن يعقوب ثنا محمد بن عبد الوهاب (ثقة) أنبأ جعفر بن عون (جيد) أنبأ الأجلح (شيعي ضعيف) عن أبي الزبير (منقطعاً) عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهم: أن غلاماً أتاه، فجعل القوم يقومون والغلام جالس. فقال له بعض القوم: «قم يا غلام». فقال ابن عباس رضي الله عنهم: «دعوه. شيءٌ ما أجلَسَه». فلما خلا، قال: «يا ابن عباس. إني غُلامٌ شابٌّ أجِدُ غلمةً شديدة. فأدلك ذكري حتى أنزل؟». فقال ابن عباس: «خيرٌ من الزنا، ونكاح الأمة خيرٌ منه»
الأجلح ليّن الحديث ، أما الحكم على رواية أبي الزبير عن ابن عباس بالانقطاع فمحل بحث؛ فقد روى مسلم في صحيحه لأبي الزبير عن ابن عباس
نعم؛ قد روى ابن أبي حاتم في المراسيل بسند صحيح عن ابن عيينة: يقولون: أبو الزبير المكي لم يسمع من ابن عباس
13588 عن الثوري ومعمر عن الأعمش عن أبي رزين (مسعود بن مالك ، ثقة) عن أبي يحيى (مستور) عن ابن عباس أن رجلاً قال له:«إني أَعْبَثُ بِذَكَرِي حتى أُنْزِلَ». قال: «إن نِكاح الأمَةِ خيرٌ منهُ، وهو خيرٌ من الزنا».
رجاله كلهم ثقات إلا أبو يحيى ، واسمه: مِصْدع، وهو الأعرج المعرقب ، قال عمار الدهني: كان مصدع أبو يحيى عالما بابن عباس.
ووثقه العجلي ، وروى له مسلم في الصحيح ، وتكلم فيه الجوزجاني وغيره لتشيعه.
أما ابن حبان فجرحه بما لم يسبقه إليه إمام.
والظاهر أن السند جيّد ، والله أعلم.

أخشى أن يكون (عبّاد عن منصور) غير مستقيم، وتكون الباء تحرفت إلى العين، ويكون الصواب: عن (عبّاد بن منصور)، وهو من شيوخ الثوري، ويروي عن الحسن البصري وغيره من طبقة أبي الشعثاء

وعباد بن منصور ضعيف مدلس ، فالسند لايصح

Masturbation is not permissible according to the majority of predecessor and successor scholars. Wether he feard al-anat or not.
Ibn abbas's opinion and what was attributed to imam ahmed about it, that it's only for that who feared al-anat - zina & liwat(fornication & sodomy) - immensely and feared for himself to fall into it, he is allowed to break his lust and anat.
But who does it just for pleasure and out of a habit or remembering an image and imagining that he's having intercourse with her all that is haram, and not imam ahmed nor anyone else is saying that.

But I heard Bukhari didn't add that Hadith to his book collection because the narrators of the Hadith weren't clear ig? I'm avoiding music since it's in doubt, I only listen to soothing rythmes when I get panic or anxiety attacks. I'm also curious if that's sinful
