this was great. Thanks for sharing. Lee, Rauch, and the team dont get enought credit for listening to your users. I think you guys have done a commendable job.
The documentation on how to actually implement this pause/unpause spend management thing is not particularly straight forward. First of all it would be great if you could share the code from your demo in the video, but second of all, how can I know that things will actually work? Is there a way I can trigger the spend-management webhook to test that my logic actually does pause and unpause me project? I could of course just call the endpoint, that won't work with the recommended signature validation. DX and documentation around this feature should definitely be fleshed out quite a bit in my opinion.
Neat. No time (or need?) to setup an endpoint but configured in Postman (under a secure folder - just my account 2FA - with inherited auth and local variables) works great.
Thanks , great feature , would be nice to hear how to determine best strategies between serverless function and ssg+isr , as soon isr is black box , and during revalidation step execute serverless function . And for 1k-1000k cms pages and future scale what could be chipper build time plus webhook and ssr and isr or all in serverless functions .
I would love a deep dive video on how the spend works. I'm already spending $20 so sometimes I'm worried if a blog post or my app goes viral. (Probably unlikely but that's the purpose of my work I'm putting in). (And I have a few websites on the same plan) A few things you can include: 1. the basic charges after limit, 2. what common issues that could cause after limits (you can address the infamous overcharge a few months ago (or is it a year?)), 3. other ways to circumvent other than limit notifications and webhooks. 4. you can also include other Vercel services since it's not as well known like the analytics, etc. Aside from that, I have a direct question - due to limits of the Pro plan, is the use case for ad-driven web apps not suitable with Vercel due to charges after a certain number of page views? Also, great work. I just started web dev a year ago and your comments across platforms have been helpful. ( I know it's your job but still great)

Great features. I will certainly look up Vercel to host my projects once I'm done learning Next.js.

This is so cool, it makes me want to code a soft/hard spend limits tool for my portfolio because that feature alone is so interesting.

Does this feature only exists for PRO plan?
The spend limit webhook payload only provides the teamId, not the projectId. How can we pause a specific project that is exceeding the spend limits?
Awesome features!
