Shock, horror! For once we don't agree. For me Douglas Moo's Pillar New Testament Commentary on Colossians/Philemon is the stand out volume. The second edition is coming out later this year. By the way, my copy of James Nogalski's commentary on Micah arrived today. It's 258 pages long and so I don't know why it wasn't included in the volume last year on Joel, Obadiah and Jonah. Nevertheless, it is up to the standard of last year's offering. Blessings! Steve
I just struggle with Moo's aggressive Calvinism, Romans so put me off him that I have never tried his Colossians, but I respect your views. I have had an order for Nogalski in for months, and despite being expected this week they have just delayed it . I was really looking forward to it.. Bless you!
@@pastorslibrary I think we need the reformed side of the church’s perspective, if we only read Arminians, we’re not gonna get the full perspective of the body of Christ. There are some reformed people that I really like and would not want to be without them.
@@completestrangeronline7284 Agree! I have friends who lean that way too. I work for unity though, but when I am reading alone I have the option of not going over the top. Bless you!
@@completestrangeronline7284 I know what you mean. In general I try to show that there are other perspectives though, as the publishing houses are loaded in favour of the reformed wing, and I think it is important to show that there are other positions. God bless you and thanks for your supportive comment
Thank you so much. I love your videos! I am so impressed with the amount of research that goes into a work by Greg Beale. But I do have to say, I read the first 25 or 30% of his commentary on Revelation and I just had to stop, I found myself disagreeing with him so often that the value just wasn’t there. But I do love many of his other works, including this one.
@@jimyoung9262 exactly. Many interpretations in Revelation I was like “that doesn’t sound right, how did he come to this conclusion, does he really think that?”
Thanks!!!!!!
Hey brother. Keep showing us that New Interpreters book. That will totally count as working out! 😉
Thanks for the great video.
I have just done another couple of repetitions, my arms are aching, but you will see it again in a couple of weeks. Blessings!
Thanks for another very helpful list!! 🎉
I’ve got a couple of Beale’s books, but not this one. He is good. I’ll have to snag a copy.
God bless you! Hope you find a good price!
I really like the layout of BECNT.
Agree, they have put a lot of effort into the design. Blessings!
@@pastorslibrary Right now, I'm looking for good price for Romans by Schreiner. (I know you don't like Schreiner.)
@@MCristian may your searching be fruitful!!! Blessings

Good tip on Romans. I like Moo, but I carefully consider anything on Romans. Not a big fan of calvisnism.

I know what you mean about Beale, but overall he adds a lot of value and I really like this one. Blessings
I like Beale for his OT in the NT focus, but not so much his eschatology.
