Presidential pardons are a tradition. It began in the early days when Presidents set aside time to meet with people who plead for the release of someone in prison. examples were widows who begged for their son back to work their farm before it was repossessed by the bank, people requesting release of slaves, lawyers who had proof that an imprisoned person was wrongly convicted. In modern times Presidents have changed the tradition into a "right". Trump for example, pardoned dozens of his friends and colleagues who had been convicted or under investigation having committed felonies. Some were already in prison. You mean his mendemanojr charges that were upped to felonies as part of the democrat party drive of law fare? Jesus christ how painfully blinded can you be.

Chris, if you don't know what a felony is just say so. Paying off a stripper is morally wrong BUT NOT A FELONY CHARGE. In order to get a felony you need to commit a crime then do another crime off it. He hasn't commited any crime?. If you can please give me a list of crimes he has commited to get the felony I will side with you. If you can't name 1 charge you have to admit defeat and think logically. Following off from what the media tells you isnt an argument. There has been not one journalist since this happened to name 1 charge. If you cannot see all this was done by the democrats to defame trump I can't help you. Here is the biggest piece of evidence I have for you that the charges were bogus trump never went to jail. 30+ federal crimes is HUGE but they never sent him to jail 😂. More evidence it was to defame him and fools like you buy into it.

It’s a rarity that a president pardon an “innocent” person… The nature of a pardon is not usually a declaration of innocence… it’s a clemency

Nobody did more to embarass his family than he did, to blame it on the media for reporting it is typical, especially when he was potentially compromising national security on a regular basis.

The pardon power has been in the US consitution from day 1. The head of state of most countries has the power to pardon people, this is a perfectly normal thing.

Why don't we now call it "Joe's Law". Anyone convicted of a criminal offence can claim that it "Isn't fair" and then receive a pardon. It would also solve prison overcrowding.
