      Because you know who he didn't pardon? The thousands of people in prison on low-level, non-violent drug charges thanks to the crime bills he helped pass in the 90's.

      This is the only legit talking point against Joe doing what he did, Hunter is pretty low on the list of unjustly prosecuted people in the US...that said, the other stuff people are complaining about, like it setting a precedent, I'm like whatever, Trump already established he'd abuse this power and did so before, Dems constantly appeal to the norms and guardrails of politics while the GOP abuses them against Dems while ignoring them whenever they get in their own way of exercising power over everyone. In that respect its nice to see Biden have a back bone and do something the GOP happily does and much much worse than pardoning his son (who was only facing jail time because a Trump appointed judge tossed out the deal he made with the prosecution, all as retribution against Joe for the DOJ going after Trump).

    @jonathanstewart7838 23 часа назад +399

    He did bring these legal problem on himself, but the political troubles that came with his father as president were not something he should have had to face.
    There was a plea deal on offer that was scuppered by Republicans who had no business involving themselves other than to create political mischief to hurt the father and by putting his son in prison for years out of nothing less than spite.
    The other reason was to find something that Biden had done wrong and for two years they investigated and found nothing no connection. In fact it was embarrassing as witness after witness were found to be lying like Alexander Smirnov who lied to the FBI and worked for Russian intelligence or these witnesses confirmed they had no knowledge of the accusations made about Biden.
    In all of that Biden kept away from the investigation, but knowing the hounding of his son would continue once he left office he has done the right thing to protect him now from the malign political Trump administration whose government picks are promising to go after Trump's political, business and media enemies.
    So well done Joe for not sacrificing Hunter on the altar of political righteousness to the gangsters in Trump's new administration.
