Love the video, one thing I noticed is that because of the diffuser size, there was a diff in the light on the rock the subject was leaning on. I think for the shots in the beginning a bigger diffuser will def do the trick. Greta work!
Great vid and shots! I love the lighting. Not over powered and retaining shadows. I see to many photographers blasting their subjects with light giving it that flashy look making the subjects face look flat.
Great vid and tips. Will definitely use some of them for wedding photography. Shout out to your model though. Without her it wouldn't work. Link her in the bios next time please
I am slowly acquiring equipment and would like to get into portrait photography (outdoor portraits) but I would like to know how often do you have to ask permission to set up a tripod and strobe? If it is a public park, etc..., are there likely to be no problems? I have a location near me, for example "mead botanical garden" which requires an open-air permit, $1 million dollars in general aggregate insurance, and $500k for each occurrence in order to shoot with "props" at their location.
Nice shots, like always. If you would shoot 2.2, I think going 2.8 with a 24-70mm would be a better choice. That way, you have that range, and you don't have to worry about using the 24mm or 35mm primes.
I'm always gonna go for strobe, as it's one of the remaining advantages over smartphones. Depth mapping can fake bokeh, but phones still can't sync to strobe.
cool vid, thanks. Camera, lens, diffuser: check, check, check, But where do I get an "Olivia"? 😀 Sometimes really difficult to shoot without an assistant, never found someone to help...
Hello Eli Infante. You mentioned that you use a 35 mm lens for portrait. Isn't that more suitable for environmental portraits? Can you please share your thoughts on why 35 mm lens would be better for portrait photography? Just curious to know since I was under the impression, that anything beyond 50 or much better 80-85 mm would be a perfect lens. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks & Regards, Chetan Mehta
Good one! Guys try not to include branches of trees or in general small parts of anything. Strong composition means we have strong presence of the included elements
Neck rot going on there. I'd use the awesome Westcott Eyelighter 3 and you didn't pose the models hair! Hand on the rock loses her energy and her feet are not posed and never pose a model with a leg at camera unless shooting a shoe or boot ad. Now it's a poor no energy shot of a leg and knee. Arm way to close to her head and elbow needs to be out more, Arm should never touch head so there is no head in the vise look. Broken tree is such a horrible location.
all amazing but I think the shot with the diffuser and the strobe is the best for me. love that look!!!
Same here
Loved the lighthouse and rock portraits and her wardrobe was beautiful with this location and day.
Glad you enjoyed it!
i can look that video 100 time because the content is so informative.
I love the strobe shot with the diffuser
Great images! Always love shooting at the Marblehead lighthouse 🙌
Us too! Thanks for watching!!
Strobe with diffuser awesome shots!! 📸

cute model and love the colors of her outfit. Thanks for sharing
I'm glad you like it!
Great video! The natural beauty of your model made it that much easier to achieve such great shots!
informative photography content.
Glad you liked it
Wonder how I would do this on a Fuji GFX with a max sync speed of 1/125th. Still need to get an outdoor beauty dish setup.
If you can’t raise your shutter speed you could use ND filters to help lower the ambient exposure.
Another great video loved the strobe and diffuser photos. Keep the videos coming 😊
Thank you! Will do!
Great vid and tips. Will definitely use some of them for wedding photography. Shout out to your model though. Without her it wouldn't work. Link her in the bios next time please
Glad it was helpful! Our model was www.youtube.com/@RileyGaynorOfficial she's really talented!

@westcott Very well done video. I would love to know how you set the white balance for your session. Any tips?
I usually leave it on Auto for my portrait outdoors.
@@EliInfante I’ll have to give that a shot. Thank you 🙏🏾!

Thank you for the informative tutorial and tips!
You’re welcome!!

Great point! I love 24-70mm too :)
@@EliInfante I have the Signa 35 1.4 also, and the Sigma 24-70 2.8 is a monster.
Would love to see your editing process on this shoot. Great work!!
I have editing video on my RUclips channel. I mainly used Retouch4Me for these edits.
Love that you used a 35mm for this
Oh snap a semi local location in a west city location. I shot my fits successful star trail image at Marblehead
I'm always gonna go for strobe, as it's one of the remaining advantages over smartphones. Depth mapping can fake bokeh, but phones still can't sync to strobe.
I admire you so much and now I want to ask you but tell me the name of this camera you are wearing
Great work! Great advice!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Muchas gracias por compartir su conocimiento 🙏 que Dios te bendiga siempre maestro

Hahah having an assistant is always helpful.

He explains this at about 2:10 in the video.
Actually, starts at 2:00...
Every time I watch your videos I regret buying the FJ 200 and not the 400. The 200 doesn't off that punch
With 35 mm lens the wide aperture will not blure the background,so you can use a smaller one
True!
Diffuser, strobe and ND Filter??
Good one! Guys try not to include branches of trees or in general small parts of anything. Strong composition means we have strong presence of the included elements
Good morning
Good evening!
what flash is that?
The FJ400!
strobe killed for me
8:15 legendary pose called Armpit Sniffin'
Todo el pedo en esta location!!!! Genio !
Thanks Tomas! :)

Unfortunately, too much talking.
There are better videos out there.
U talk too much u dont have to explain every useless detail. Too much time consume its make me boring watching u.
