@@djdannybhtx Awesome video, I've been using the OG GigBar for a while (mostly do smaller local venues) but just upgraded to this bar. Curious which specific Gravity Stand you went with for this bar as the tripod does take up a lot of real estate I could otherwise use. Thanks!
Hi Danny, would you consider selling the Laser if you are not using it, I would like the Square Laser to change for the round one that I have. I am in Glasgow Scotland, UK Please Let me know.
I just inquired with Chauvet about purchasing the additional wash fixtures to replace the derbys. They're out of stock as of 5.15.2024, but they also replied: "Please note that the pars draw more power than the Derbys, so this may cause excess strain on the power supply and cause premature failure which would not be covered by warranty.". Have you experienced any issues with the difference in power draw?
Here's the deal. I have not experienced any issues with that. I personally asked their tech team if the derby's can be replaced with the pars and they said "Absolutely"! After I put out this video and it now has over 12K views, 210 likes and almost 200 comments; all of a sudden you can't do that. I'm thinking Chauvet ultimately likes my mod, they just don't want to admit to it LOL! I think this is the way the Gig Bar should have been made. I was also told by another RUclipsr, that they were told by Chauvet, b/c of my video, they have been sold out of these pars ever since this video came out Lol. So I don't know what to believe.
I use a tiny piece of black gaff to lock in my focus on moving heads as they tend to move and get unfocused while in use. I want to link my Freedom Flex H9 IP to the ILS command is this possible?
Good video, I am Definately not a fan of the derbys either, Chauvet should look at this an give people the option of extra pars instead, I think Chauvet tried to put too many light/Lite options on the one unit. Regarding the case, it could do with a flat scissor type hinge, you see them on step ladders, albeit heavier, they simply fold as you close the lid, the case is cool and it deserves a better hinge. Keep up the good work Paul from Scotland UK.
When you’re at an event, turn them on and let them focus on a wall and hit the freeze button on the remote, then go to your Moving heads and turn the lens on the front. Just keep turning them until the image is crisp and clear on the wall. You usually have to do this at every event because you don’t know how far you are from the furthest wall.
I like it easy setup I had bought the gig bar last yr but the moving heads weren't bright enough 10watts not good at all I, I have the 355 90watts that's more for a big venue I need something fast and easy for house parties
Nothing yet. I have been researching a lot about the A.I. LIGHTSHOW FORCE though! Looks so simple. I have also seen some videos on the GigBar Move + ILS incorporated with the dreaded MYDMX GO, which I have pretty much given up on.
@@buddymorgan3198 in my opinion I just don’t think it’s right for weddings, but I kept it so that if I do house parties or something like that where I can use haze or fog then the laser looks really good
Great mod, exactly what I was looking for. The two spare par's are different because they are probably on two separate DMX addresses. Have you tried a third par to replace the laser? Any feedback after a month? All working great? I'm about to take the plunge and would hate it if you came back saying it's crap or something lol. Thanks!

Amazing review and love the mod and case! Just wanted to ask, I just bought mine and am worried about the moving heads shining directly in guests eyes on my wedding dance floor this weekend. I’m playing with the movement settings and just wondering if you have any tips or have anyone ever complain that those moving heads hit them in the eyes. Best wishes and thanks for the video!
Hi Michael, thank you Sir! So ii have never had anyone complain or say anything about the moving heads shining in their eyes. The good thing about the Gig Bar is I put it at it's highest point and the speed I keep it at a medium speed so that it's constantly moving and not paused too long in one area to be able to blind someone. You can also adjust the intensity of the brightness as well if it every becomes an issue. :)
I've been told since I uploaded this video and got THOUSANDS of view, another viewer told me Chauvet told them they had to take down the link b/c so many people were trying to buy them LOL!! I would email them to inquire now. I'm guessing this video overloaded them. :(
SO much to comment on, first I HATE CLOTH BAGS. Rockville does OK but you're so right about those cloth hinges. I normally just cut them off lol. What did you use to record/track your face with this??? That was awesome! back in the day if it was a person i'd say TIP THE CAMERAMAN! lol
hahaha, for sure Kevin! I'm waiting for the cloth hinges to break on this new one! For recording myself, I used the Insta360 Flow! It's so bad ass for 1 person recording.
Another tip on that remote. You should take off the Battery Everytime you finish a gig. If you leave the battery in the remote. The Remote will suck up all the juice out and you gonna have to buy a new one. I take it off.. and Put a Gaffer Tape on the battery and put it on the other Remote Section. When I'm ready to start a new gig.. I just put the Battery back in the remote.

very nice job, but pay attention to the power output from the connectors for derbies, may could not the same and may can damage par led quickly, burning them, if the middle connector have the same power output it would be great tio add another one or may a liitle laser box of 1w minimum if haze is allowed, otherwise another par led will be fine
Great video. I've been considering getting the Gigbar Move + ILS. (currently have a gig bar 2) and loved your idea of taking off the derby lights. When you pulled them off and added the 2 par lights, did you find the weight of carrying the gig bar around in the hard case is a little lighter? Also, does the gig bar fit the same in its original case with the 2 added pars? I would think it would but figured I'd ask :)
Hey Jamie! The weight is about the same, the derbys and the pars are not far off in weight. And yes, it still fits in the original case too! I kept it because when I want to pack it in my Durango, the hard case doesn’t fit.
Great video man. Love the breakdown and the own modification. Correct me if I am wrong but what is the difference between the 2 part links in your description?
@@djdannybhtx Lol, fair enough. I just ordered mine yesterday with 2 extra spots to have the same setup as yours. The moving heads are enough movement for me. And I want enough color just like in your video so thanks for showing us!
Great Video Dj Danny, I’m looking to to swap out the derby lights as well. Just have a quick question. When hooked up, how do you control them using the ils command console? Will all 4 pars sync when pressing Par button or will they work when you press the Derby option? Thank you 🙏
Hey there thank you! So the one time I have tested it with the Command ILS, the pars worked perfectly when pressing just pars. Since I usually operate solo during my gigs though, I’ve been using the remote 95% of the time.
Thank you! None that I can see. Ive had some people tell me they bought two of the same and it works perfectly. Thats just what Chauvet told me I needed so I bought them as position 2 and 3 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Hello again.. how did you order these extra pars. I’ve emailed Chauvet a few times with no success. Did you call or place the order online through Chauvet parts?
I think that a lot of the features of the GigBar Move depend on what you're using it for. If you're using it for weddings, I'll agree (though it's a real lightweight for anything other than a small venue), the derbies and the laser are a waste, but for other venues they may be just right. I have a Gigbar 2 and in a small to a mid sized bar venue with some haze it's great, the derbies and the laser just pop (though in high light levels even haze doesn't help much). I wish it had the RGB laser rather than just the red-green)) although it doesn't really help the par's. Personally, while it has it's place, I'm not a fan of the ILS format. I run using dmx and have found that a light formatted for ILS uses more power and dmx channels than the same light that's not ILS (best example: Colorband H9, I can do in 11 channels in the older USB version that now requires 18 channels in the ILS version, which means I lose 7 channels per light (ex: 10 usb h9's at 11 channels equals 110 channels. 10 ILS h9's need 180 channels for the same function, net loss 70 channels, then add in the reduction of the number of units that can be power linked )). If you have a lot of lights and are trying to stay in one universe that can be a game changer. Anyhow, I'm off the soapbox. I agree with Danny as far as the hard case is concerned. I've found that it doesn't make any difference who makes the soft case, there are going to be issues. Usually the first thing that goes south is the zipper. Trying to find someone who can fix or repair one can be an excise in futility (or cost you close what you originally spent for the carry bag if you do find someone) and even then they wear thin and get holes in the fabric. I'll definitely be ordering one in the near future.
Excellent comment thank you Karen! I 100% agree with you, the original Gig Bar ILS looks bad ass with fog and or haze, however here in TX, 99.999999999% of the venue we play at DO NOT ALLOW ANY OF THAT! :( Which makes me sad, b/c I absolutely looooooooooooooove the effect that haze creates! The way I modified this Gig Bar is stellar for weddings now. The Gig Bar is one option we offer our clients, as well as upgrading to trussing and moving heads where my DMX skills come in to play! This let's me create the type of light show that is tailored to the event. :) Thanks for the feedback!! :)
Hey Danny, great video. It looks like only the par 3 is in stock, but not the par 2… wondering if you know if it’s super important to have one of each or could I just order 2 par 3s and have it still work the same? Cheers
Hey Ryan, thank you for watching! The crazy thing is, EVERYONE has been messaging me that they have been ordering the pars since I posted this video so Im sure Chauvet is wondering what the hell is going on lol! I would think that one position would work for both, but email Gilbert at Chauvet to make sure. He’s a valuable resource for me. Good luck and I look forward to seeing yours once its done 😀 chauvetcs@chauvetlighting.com
Thanks for the info Danny. I actually just heard back from those guys at Chauvet, they mentioned that both pars are identical, so there’s no need to #2 & #3. The only thing that they advised was any modifications made by the customer will void the warranty if anything were to happen or damage the light bar. Thanks again for the info!
Im so conflicted about the Gigbar. I actually like the derbys and lasers when there is fog, thats what they are meant for, not to just be tacky dots all around the room. However I work alot of wedding venues and they usually dont allow fog or haze. But I also dont like the 4 white lights accross the front. I have had people complain that they are too bright and distracting. So basically its just a very expensive bar with 2 pars and 2 moving heads most of the time. Swapping the derbies is an improvement.
I totally agree with you. I may have left the derbies on there and the laser if we would be allowed haze in venue, but without the haze, it looks tacky. As far as the bright white strobe's, I leave those off all of the time. Tacky as well. I feel that Chauvet could learn a lot from JMAZ and their lighting bar systems.
@@djdannybhtx hey Danny so I swapped out the kintas for pars but I cant get colors to match, they are both different than the pars below and different from each other as well in all modes. Any advice?

Ok thanks 🙏
This looks much more elegant i would also lose that stand and replace it with a Gravity stand that will let you place it in front of your set up between the DJ booth and controller etc.
Thanks! I have since upgraded to a gravity stand as well! 🎉🎉

Hey there! Sorry I'm just seeing this. I actually kept it for the few venues we sill can use haze at. It looks great with haze! :)
Danny, you can order 1 more par. The same thing will happen as when you replaced the derbies. Instead of the laser.
Im down!!
What position would the par that replaces the laser be?
Awesome, good to know, thanks! I don't think the freedom series links to the ILS unless maybe you have the usb drive if I'm correct?
Good video, I am Definately not a fan of the derbys either, Chauvet should look at this an give people the option of extra pars instead, I think Chauvet tried to put too many light/Lite options on the one unit. Regarding the case, it could do with a flat scissor type hinge, you see them on step ladders, albeit heavier, they simply fold as you close the lid, the case is cool and it deserves a better hinge.
Keep up the good work
Paul from Scotland UK.
Thank you Paul! I agree, I love those scissor hinges and think those should be added.
Are you able to get rid of some of the pars and add a couple more moving heads? Wonder if it would work
I wish! The moving heads have moving parts inside of the bar I believe.

You can turn down the intensity and I never use it on sound mode. I always use the programs. I should try it in sound mode, good call.
Howcome my moving heads don’t display the images sharp like yours? My flowers and shapes look blurred on the wall not crisp.

@@Madness915eptx oh wow! Shoot me an email and Ill try to find out for you
I think that a lot of the features of the GigBar Move depend on what you're using it for.
Cheers
