Autel acts like they don’t know the bypass exists… I’ve called for technical support on a few others and they always tell me the 12+8. Then I discovered the bypass and works perfect.
Hey thanks for this video. Used it as a guide to do a 21 ram 2500. However it wouldn’t pull the vin and I couldn’t do immo status scan. It did pull the password and was able to program the key. Do you think its because of the star cable I’m using? It’s a generic not the ADC2011. I thought the wiring on these cables are just simply Hi/low CAN and power. Or does the ADC2011 have a more ‘complete’ wiring as in all of the obd pins are wired?
Hi great video, not much info out there on the autel key programmers. Question i have the 508s and trying to use it with the Autel 12+8 cable on a 2023 ram 1500 and it will not read the pin. I see you have a cable that plugs directly into the green module. Does that worked the same as the 12+8?
@@markmccormickkeys Thanks for the quick reply, the 12/8 plugs into the harness under the dash just below the green module that your cable shown plugs into, you unplug the two connectors and plug the 12/8 into those and its supposed to bypass the module.
@@JMSynthetics The only other thing I can think of is to check your internet connection. I've had trouble getting the password when I have poor signal.
Agreed. I'll do a better job of keeping track in the future. I had a Ram that was behind the radio, one behind the cluster and one near the emergency brake.
@@JoseRamirez-zi3ps Very interesting... We thought Autoauth could help with this but found out that it was only for diagnostics (not key programming). I'm hoping this has changed, can you confirm we can program keys through OBD with Autoauth? I'll try asap to confirm. Thanks.
@@JoseRamirez-zi3ps We tried about a year ago and and it didn't work. I was told Atuoauth was only for diagnostics, not key programming. Can you confirm it's working for key programming? I'll try asap as my Autoauth account is still active. Thanks in advance.
OBD is for power and ground. Im my experience, the tool will not communicate without power and ground so the OBD connection is necessary. Let me know if that makes sense.
Glad the ADC works because the gateway is behind the instrument cluster
I've don't it back there. I agree, it's more difficult.

I see this all the time on newer Stellantis cars. I don't know why it happens but it happens.

Both cables should communicate the same way. Where was the 12/8?

@@markmccormickkeys Thanks for all the assistance. I ended up getting the cable you used and it all worked perfectly
@@JMSynthetics Very cool. Great job. Make money!
Are you able to use the 12+8 cable from autel to perform this function by plugging directly into the security gateway?
You can but the security gateway is behind the instrument cluster on the 2500/3500. It’s not too bad to do after you do it once.
Agreed. I'll do a better job of keeping track in the future. I had a Ram that was behind the radio, one behind the cluster and one near the emergency brake.
@@markmccormickkeys all honesty I’d rather spend the $50 bucks a year on auto auth to program by obd 2 on the newer Chrysler

Are proxi keys one time programmable on a 21 renegade? I have a request to delete keys from a woman because her ex has one and tried to steal it
Be very careful with customers like that. You do not want to become a suspect. I don't think they can be used again.
You have to connect to obd? Or can you just use adc2011a?

You hooked the bypass cable directly to the OBD cable leading to the tablet?
Both OBD and the ADC2011. Does that make sense?
Can you use the passenger side on?
I think you can use many different star connectors. Did you find one easier on the passenger side?
@@markmccormickkeys usually I do The passenger side, I did a 17 yesterday and it didn’t need it
Very cool. Gateway started in 2018 on the Ram.
Where can i buy ADC 2011A cable??
Try UHS.
