The 2024 Lexus TX 350 Premium AWD Is A Grander Highlander For Big Families Looking For Space

- After decades of not having a proper 3-row family SUV in its lineup, the 2024 #LexusTX arrives on the scene in time to do battle with all the newest midsize luxury SUV's. Borrowing heavily from the supersized Grand Highlander, the #LexusTX350 represents the base engine in the lineup. Consisting of the same 2.4L Turbo engine from the #GrandHighlander. The #TX350Premium looks to be the sweet spot in the trim structure and with plenty of space for 7 adults and all their stuff, this new #TX350 is exactly the car that Lexus needs to compete in this space.

Sofyan, I must tell you how much I appreciate your professionalism . In all your reviews you present a clean car ,whenever possible, and shoot your video against a beautiful background . Even if you shoot in a parking lot , it’s a parking lot surrounded by trees etc . You are dressed well and even if it’s summer and you are wearing shorts you look like you care . I know it’s not easy to do and the information you present is not just the info from a press kit. You have a cadence to your delivery that’s almost ASMR . You are By far my favorite car reviewer . As always another excellent job here .
This was cringe to read

Outstanding review as always. I love your practical and no-nonsense approach, as well as the fact that you were able to review a more standard model.
Great review on a not so great car
The Topher tested one of these and the memory seat buttons broke and feel through the dash. There are quality issues in these.
It just looks like they played it safe inside and out
The RX took all the snap and pop. Can't really go up much further at this price point. It's nice but the competition has just as if not more pop (Audi Q5, BMW X3 40i, Acura MDX, etc). Try harder Lexus.
@@tbirdboy None of the cars you listed are competition for this car! They are too small for families with kids.
Whoa, the time it took the third row to fold down ! Like evolution of the mankind 😂
Hey Sofyan, I love the review; however, it appears you have a Luxury version (or pre-production) of the TX, not the Premium. The Premium technology package does not have several of the items that you are showing in your review, including the digital rearview and the HUD.
Congrats on the 1 million subscribers. Will you make a special video for this milestone?
It is on our To-Do list! Stay tuned!

The legroom in the first and the second row is a bit, in fact, smaller than that in the regular highlander (4th gen.). I wish they had designed the front facia better. The third row is still usable for kids or relatively shorter people.
I like how this car is called the "Lexus Texas". Which is basically a porn star name.

When Sofyan hit the third row buttons , left, made some coffee and came back they were still lowering 😂
So where does this and GX land? Is GX more geared towards off road? I guess it’s like Highlander vs 4Runner?
Thanks for the review. Interesting that this premium trim comes with HUD and digital rear view mirror. That sadly isnt an option for Premium trim with dealers here in Utah. Its not an option in the lexus website either. Is this some special build Premium?
That is such a perfect choice indeed
It was my understanding that the heads up display and digital rear view mirror are exclusive to the Luxury trim and it is not available on the Premium trim even with the tech package.
I don't know if anyone expert can answer but how did you get Premium trim with heads-up display? I thought even with tech package it is only available in Luxury trim

I can't believe they are putting 4 cylinders in this vehicle, considering the size and the price. It should be V6 minimum.

So if the 550h+ has the 3.5 V6 they could have put it in the rx, such a shame as we can't get the T X in UK. I'd buy the 550 in a heartbeat but sadly UK has no option of the V6 anymore. I'm looking at at bmw next as I tow a twin axle caravan. My current rx450h tows well but the latest rx offerings aren't up to the job.
No Lexus is up to the jobs of bmw genesis Mercedes Audi Mazda Hyundai kia cadillac Lincoln Acura etc
Is HUD standard feature for Premium?
Do you think the grand highlander hybrid max is better than the TX350 turbo non hybrid?
Depends. The TX offers more comfort but the GH offers more power. Efficiency on both are basically the same in the real world (low 20s)
All of that hard plastic doesn’t give luxury for me. I always want the bench option in the second row regardless of trim. The sliding 2nd row seats is a very nice touch. 3rd row vents 👍. MDX 3rd row is not adult friendly. Their 2nd row can be a bit snug too. How about they give us the EPA range with a full load of people which is how many people will utilize these people haulers? @Sofyan what would you say is the advantage of buying this over the Toyota Toyota?
There is zero advantage 😂
If you’re a Lexus sheep who doesn’t know anything or possess any physical sense😂 then the Tx is a good choice
But smart people would choose literally anything else
Telluride palisade traverse Acadia are far superior to this joke of a so called luxury SUV
But is reliable
Would be nice for them to offer a basic hybrid without the FSport trim.
Nice SUV. Still hard to accept paying over $70k for a "tall minivan" with a noisy 4 cylinder engine that isn't fast. At least you're getting good reliability and MPGs.
Hard to pay 70k for what is basically a Toyota Camry on stilts with ugly lipstick
A 4 cyl is way too small for this car. The thing weighs 2.5 tons
This is nice but i like the rugged look of the land cruiser
Then this is not the car for you This is more like a station wagon. You should look at the Lexus GX that should be more your style
The Land Cruiser doesn’t offer a 3rd row in the states…for some reason
I recently saw the new Lexus TX in person and unfortunately it did not make a great first impression on me visually. While not ugly, the exterior styling seemed a bit odd and lacked the refined elegance I expect from a "luxury" SUV. Compared to segment leaders like the Volvo XC90, Genesis GV80, and BMW X5, the TX's design falls short in my opinion. It does not have the premium presence and prestige that sets apart true luxury vehicles. Even the Infiniti QX60 looks better in comparison. Simply put, I did not find the TX to look very luxurious. Of course, aesthetics are subjective. But in my view, Lexus needs to refine the TX's design in future model years to give it the wow factor that buyers expect in this class.
It’ll never happen. Lexus as a brand is a thing of the past
Oh….. I also highly encourage everyone to check on insurance costs before buying your Lexus! Our 2022 had an extremely high rate when we bought new in 2022…. the insurance company just hiked it an additional $800 CAD/year this year due to an extremely high theft rate.
Sofyan, It has recently been discovered that the base 2.5 Hybrid is quicker than the 2.4 Turbo in the Grand Highlander while offering much better mpg. With that in mind, maybe it is time to offer that powertrain in the TX. 🤔
No it shouldn’t…😂 it would make it even worse
Not a bad idea, more economical and should be more reliable as well. Toyota/lexus has had issues with the 2.4t, hybrid uses a N/A 2.5 liter.
@@jakes5530 Exactly! There has also been some secret upgrade for the Grand Highlander's powertrain that moves it 0-60 quicker than a regular Highlander Hybrid .
Honestly for the lexus, the better idea would have been making it standard hybrid. However, the base would use the v6 hybrid from the previous generation RX 450h. That would have made it a little bit more desirable and still give good fuel economy
@@normanli7085 Using that V6 Hybrid was my original thought as well. When I learned of the unexpected performance of the 2.5 Hybrid in the Grand Highlander, I changed my tune. In either case, they seem superior to the Turbo 2.4 for everything but towing.
I’m assuming this is a pre-production vehicle you’re testing out because in the premium trim a digital rear view mirror is NOT an option and neither is HUD. This might confuse folks who watch thinking they can get those options in premium.

Idk if they were rushing to put this out but, Lexus needs another team to do their both interior and exterior design. I think Genesis is killing them in term of design. The only thing saving TOYOTA now is reliability.
But Toyota reliability is a thing of the past. It’s an overhyped myth
So in reality there’s nothing that can save them
Lexus and Toyota are done as a brand. They’re the next blackberry Kmart and mervyns. Once very popular in the industry no longer exists. And Toyota and Lexus will be next

@@naveenthemachine Toyota and Lexus still have much better QC overall than Hyundai, Honda, Nissan ect. and there's tons of current data to back that up. Lexus can be hit or miss with features and design lately but Toyota is certainly not the auto world's Blackberry as their current lineup is actually quite stellar. Just like Hyundai (who you constantly droll over it seems), they have a good combination of basic and fun cars to satisfy most folks but without all the issues and insurance costs that come with owing a Hyundai. Not to mention, theyre 100 percent right about taking it slow with EVs, at least in America. If anything, Nissan is the automotive equivalent of Blackberry right now with a mediocre lineup and shrinking sales.
Should have 3.5 V6 engine . Not loud 4cyl. Hopefully they will add LED triple beam option. V6 would be nice option on Luxury version .
They do have an available trim with the 3.5L V6; however, that’s only on 550h+ luxury trim. Due to highest weight out of all trims (especially due to the plug-in hybrid system), you do loose glass roof and rear-wheel steering to lower weight and cost a little bit. It’s also very pricey too which is close to $80k.
V6 is on its way out. Lexus isn’t going to return to them anytime soon
Its whisper quiet except under hard acceleration. Which any engine can do. Have you heard the V-8 in the RAM TRX or the V-8 in the Cadillac Escalade V?
@@krane15you expect to hear that because they’re focused on performance

@@jakes5530 most vehicles have followed *gm* and gone to that size not anticipating Ford or *gm’s* full-size luxury SUVs to grow and their third rows to become even larger. That’s why we have the X7, the GLS that’s grown to about the same size, and the new Range Rover, etc.
@@G-Rated the TX trumps those in size. I thought itd be about X7 or GLS size, but it’s noticeably larger
I live the fact that is has a usable 3-row, although still not up to the class leader Grand Wagoneer. However this edition of the Lexus is closer to near luxury of an Acura or Mazda rather than a typical Lexus.
The seats are just OK, but there are far better from Genesis. To its credit it does have the premium radio even at this level. The engine is buzzy when revved but seem quiet enough when cruising. I prefer the captain's chairs since it treats 2nd-row adults more respectfully, despite the fact that you lose a seat.
Madza and Acura are far more luxurious than this
However, what is surprising is that the grand wagoneer non L version actually has slightly less total cargo space with all the seats down compared to the TX. 97 cubic feet for the TX vs around 94 cubic feet in the GW. That is very surprising especially when the wagoneer is half a foot taller and wider along with being a foot longer in length compared to the lexus TX.
Where are they gonna make a sienna equivalent??
I bought a TX500h in December (WCP/birch). The motor is sooooo much smoother and less effort than the 350. The rear wheel steering is a huge game changer too. It out turns my camry.
