    Wish I knew about this before I chronically started rolling my ankles and eventually developed nasty ass bone spurs on the front of my ankle, leading to the end of my collegiate soccer career! One surgery later and still have tremendous pain in the front of my ankle and it makes physical exercise difficult. Being a 21 year old with chronic ankle problems and a dream crushed from injury, I would advise anyone competing at any level to really take things like this more seriously than your main training.

    For anyone watching this recently, if you’re recovering/feel recovered from a bad sprain or injury... keep wearing your brace (especially when playing sports) for 6 to 12 months! After almost 4 years of constant ankle injuries, that was my biggest lesson. Rehab with exercising and RICE is key, but wear your brace!

    hey chris do you know the trainer Nick Curson? He believes that strength training is a waste of time and it only makes you slower, he says that the only way to train is plyometrics. I'm not convinced about his theory and i guess you neither, but could explain how is he wrong?

    • @SyndicatedCrew
      @SyndicatedCrew 7 лет назад +3

      marcos krupiczer he mainly works with fighters, which require more endurance than most sports. I agree with Nick for MMA but not all sports

    • @marcoskrupiczer6595
      @marcoskrupiczer6595 7 лет назад

      SyndicatedCrew yes that's true but apart from the endurance, he says that strength training makes you slower. I guess its the great controvertial question about training that we all have heard, i thought it has been proved that strength training does not make you slower but Nick insists always with his idea

    • @simonkahuna123
      @simonkahuna123 7 лет назад

      marcos krupiczer none of the top football coaches think strength training makes u slow. the best sprint coaches either. plyometrics will make your joints and tendons very strong and reactive but without strength training u risk muscle strains like hamstring pulls for example (paraphrasing Cal Dietz from triphasic training, top stengtg and conditionning coach)

    • @mrfrank2324
      @mrfrank2324 7 лет назад +1

      going to be honest, strength and plyos weren't enough for me. I needed strength, plyos and olympic lifts added to strength to get faster because i guess my genetics suck. Im doing the flight system now and hope it works.
