Thanks. This key seems unnecessarily over engineered
After staring at the key fob for twenty minutes trying to figure out how to open the thing I finally gave up and watched this video. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
I recently bought a F-Type. One key fob didn't work so guessed (correctly) it needed a new battery. No instructions in the manual and I didn't want to break the fob. Your video was clear and to the point - great suggestion using the emergency key. A real time saver. Thanks so much.
Glad I could help
One of the best instructional videos on RUclips. Short and to the point without any waffle. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm British, so you amuse me with "Jagwire" 🤣
I was able to easily take it apart after that, thank you 👍🏻
Ha! Glad I could provide a little amusement and be helpful all at the same time 👍
I would‘ve never guessed to insert the emergency key to pry the two sides apart! Lol
Thx much for sharing
You're welcome ;)
Works perfectly. Took less than a minute to replace the battery. Thanks for making this video!
You're welcome!
I bought an F-type 6 days ago and I wanted to figure out how to change the battery on the fob when it goes flat. Now I know. Thanks.
Thank you so much! Much easier than I expected it to be!! Just replaced batteries in both of my fobs and now they work perfectly again!! Love my Jag F-Type R
Great to hear!
Thanks! Going to the dealership would’ve been such a rip off. They should be ashamed for charging for more than $2 to do this considering it took a minute or less to replace and the battery itself was only $1.74 from Walmart, Amazon & other stores. TG for RUclips and people willing to help others.
Glad you could get it done for $2!
I wasted 20 minutes trying to figure how to do this without help. I finally gave up and searched it. Here I am, straight forward! Thnx!
Boom! Glad you could get it sorted out
thank you Rob, super helpful - two fobs dead at the same time, saved me much time, changed in minutes, up and running again.
Fantastic! Glad the video could save you some time and frustration!
cheers Rob, both my fobs were registering "low battery" simple when you know how!!
Cheers! Glad I could help you out
Thank God! This video helps a lot!
Appreciate it! I'll stop in a give you a handful of views too!
Nice & to the point. Just a quick tip. Try not touch the board chips because of static & hold battery by sides to avoid finger residue
Thank you! Perfect help in a pinch. Quick and easy! Hardest part was opening the battery without scissors!
Glad the video was helpful to you! Take care
thank you so much - it took me 10 minutes rather than hour of frustration!
Thank you. So simple, yet I wouldn't have succeeded without your video
Glad it helped
Thank goodness there’s a video for this , I was about to get a whole new key set!!!! 😂😂
Good stuff! Glad I could help!
Very good and saved me a great deal of time. Changed my XE battery in about 2 minutes!!
Excellent!
@@KeyFobRob I have an XE and the low battery warning has just come up. After replacing the battery do you need to reprogramme the key to the car? Or should it work as normal?
@@dannywhitaker3448 you will not need to reprogram the fob after a battery change
Why has this even got thumbs down?? Awesome video!! Just swapped out both batteries just as the video showed me - massive help thank you 👍👍
Ha! Who knows?! Who cares?! Glad the video helped!! Take care
perfectly explained, everthing i serached for, short and clear! thank you!!!
Great video. I had got the fob open but couldn't see the battery. This video showed me to prise open the fob with the emergency key after which it was plain sailing. Thanks.
You're welcome!
My wife was bugging me to change it. This helped! Thanks.
No problem 👍
Good video, saved me from trawling through the manual!
Glad it helped
Thanks. Saved time having to work it out myself.
No problem 👍
Couldn’t get on the Jaguar site for cookies. Thank you so much - sorted.
Excellent!
I’ve had three fobs for mine and for all of them I’ve had to remove the metal piece in the center that the key slides into in order to get the side piece to be able to go back on, let alone flush like it’s supposed to be. Even trying to hammer it against a hard surface it will not go back on unless that center metal piece is removed.
It’s a Jaguar, not a Jagwire.
But…thanks very much for your vid! We had two remotes go at the same time so we thought it was a car problem.
Makes sense the batteries were the same age.
Thanks so much for walking me through it… Piece of cake great video
no problem!
Thank you so much🙏🏾 because I was afraid I’d break it and have to buy another one.
Glad I could help
Thank you for this helpful video. You made it look so easy! 🤗🤗🤗

Boom! Done
Much appreciated. Saved me a bunch of time and money. This was very helpful.
Great to hear!
Perfect. My "Jagwire" key fob has a new battery in 2 mins!
lol nice! I'm from the midwest ;)
@@KeyFobRob You have a valid excuse for the pronunciation, then, Rob! I'm in Britainland, so I can't really hear a North American pronounce the brand without thinking of Austin Powers.
" Jagwar, baby...yeah!" (For reference, here it's "Jag-you-are")
Interesting, my F-Type key already had the battery facing up so I didn't need to pop the circuit board out to get to it. I wonder why mine is different than shown here. Mine is for a 2015 F-Type R.
Thanks for video cant believe how easy that was : )
Glad it helped
Nice and to the point.
No need to dilly around
@@KeyFobRob Dilly dilly!

Great! Superb! Helpful! Informative! These kinds of videos are the best! 👍Congrats! Most authors like pseudo-celebrities are promoting themselves instead of bringing useful info...
Thank you! I'm just trying to help a few people 👍
Excellent video. But what's a Jag-wire?
It's the economy version of a Jaguar ;)
Saved me. Thanks for vid.

Thank you very much! Good Job!!
Glad I could make your day just a little bit easier
Thanks sir, very useful, but what the heck is a ‘Jagwire’?
Ha! That's how it's said in these parts 😅
Thanks for your help
Glad you found it helpful!
cam i ask..... do you pronounce the animal with wire instead of U-R?
is this a common pronunciation where U R from?, and does jag U R sound weird to your ear?
what state R U from ?
Where I'm from (Ohio) the car and the animal are the same Jag-wire.
Just to chime in I’m in the northeast (New York/New Jersey) and both the car and the animal are pronounced “Jag-Wahr” ‘round these parts.
@@G1Z that's how we say it in the Midwest also
@@KeyFobRob Aaaayyee I have family from Youngstown :-)!! Im gonna try this out today. Not gonna lie some of the comments abt it not mapping to the car has me slightly spooked but it seems like that should be a non issue.
Brilliant, thank you
