They have a few on the Bris Amazon store. I was going to buy it but I've worried that it would make it harder to fish out of. Definitely something I'll probably add in the future.
im planning on getting the red one soon hopefully next month or the 1st week of August im so excited i think my coworkers are sick of me talking about it
The site you recommended for the registration's plate reads "Self-adhesive is not recommended for boats that are rolled up for storage, regularly inflated/deflated, or extreme hot/cold weather". I take it you glued it instead of using the self adhesive. What kind of glue did you used and how is it holding with inflation/deflation? Thanks for your Bris videos, very helpful.
A few people on FB group use it with rollup with good results. I also just got the same plate from them, black with white letters and self adhesive glue. The boat will be on trailer so I hope it stays for more than a few years.
I did use glue. We are in the process of making a video on this. I used PVC Stitch brand PVC glue on one side and FlexGlue on the other side. Both worked, but the PVC Stich looks a lot better. Now that it is warmer, we are going to glue the numbers on the red dinghy and try a couple other methods to see what works best. I haven't deflated it since the numbers were put on, but we've got some trips coming up so hopefully we'll test have that tested soon. In the next month or so we should have enough info to make a full video on the number plates.
I got a number plate from www.boatnumberplate.com/ that glues on with PVC glue. We have red plates for the red dinghy as well. It's just been too cold to attach them. We plan on making a video about it when we do, but it just glues on like a patch.
Cool video...Good job. But I have to point out that operating these boats at speed in close quarters without lifejackets and the safety lanyard attached to your wrist makes it more of a "how not to" video.
It depends on where you live. Where we live, if you put at motor on it, it has to be registered. If we were just using the oars, it would not have to be.
I’m thinking about buying the 15.4 BRIS boat. Are you still happy with the one you have? Do you still recommend it? Are there any issues you think I need to know about? Thanks
Hey! Man!…I am looking right now at one of these. I noticed that you were (of course) sitting aft so you can control the outboard, but whoa!! That nose in front was elevating high off the water. It looked like it was a nice ‘still’ day with little wind. I wonder how going head-wind would be? Probably capsize situation. I noticed you shuffling you body-weight forward to bring it down. I was looking at the 8’8’ Bris for fishing, but just using an electric trolling motor, so maybe I am being paranoid watching you video…and ‘then!!’ You say you are going to try ‘more’ horse-power, good look my friend, and stay ‘SAFE!’
With the 6HP you can only plane with under 250 lbs and shifting to the front. We’re running a 12 hp on the red dinghy and an 18 hp on the grey one now. They run around 20 - 23 mph. No issues with headwinds.
How long have you used that hangkai motor for? Was looking at getting one on amazon because they are pretty affordable but I read a forum (from yacht guys so it explains it) that said they were pieces of Chinese junk. How has it held up for you? Have you used it for a while? Any issues with it?
We got these motors in July of 2020. I actually specifically bought it because of all the yacht guys, who never owned one, saying they were junk. They've held up well. I can't say the quality is as good as an American or Japanese motor; but for 1/3 of the price, who can complain?
@@HufflerGarage that’s definitely good to know. I just got done watching your 7 month update video I believe it was. Looks like pretty decent motors as long as you do the break in period correctly. I’m thinking about going for the 12hp one though just to get that extra bit of speed for my 10 foot BRIS dinghy
It only leaks air if I leave it pumped up, wow!
show us more on the inside of the boat with fishing gear in it . great vlog thank you . Rob from Australia .
Thanks for the suggestion. The fishing is supposed to be good this week so if we get out we'll make a video showing this.
@@HufflerGarage how do you get the water out that sometimes gets underneath the aluminum floor without disassembling the whole boat
Did you look into attaching a bimini? I'm beginning to set mine up now and will definitely need some shade

Have you checked out the home made cabin that guy made for his Intex excursion?😂

Have any questions or ideas for more dinghy videos? Let us know!
How did you actually go about to register the boat did you inflate the vessel when you got to the BMV/DMV or what
Can you show how to calibrate the carburetor of this outboard please ?

Hey it's a pretty exiting thing! You're gonna have a blast with it. What kind of engine are you going to run on it?
@@HufflerGarage not sure yet i have to start researching,i might actually take it on calm water a row it,since it would end up being a good workout
It's actually a pretty easy boat to row. It's just kind of squeaky where the oars mount. I row it when I'm fishing.
@@HufflerGarage i figured rowing it wouldn't disturb the fish as much as an engine
kinda like sneaking up on them and dropping my line
Thanks for making a video man. I am going to get the 10.8ft now
Glad I could help. Hope you enjoy it!
Wonder how does bris compare to Newport and Saturn. They are all around the same price range.
How did you attach those registration number to the 10.8 one?
We used boat number plates from boatnumberplate.com.
Here's a video we mad on how to install them: ruclips.net/video/JHGv4QI2LJ0/видео.html

In Florida the common practice was to mount the registration letters/numbers on a strip of Lexan/plexiglas and secure the strip the hand hold ropes.
How do you register it in your state
How did you attach your registration number to the tube? Thanks.

so after 1 year,, how is the hangkai motor working,, great price and enjoyed the video
It is doing well. Check out our 1+ year update video: ruclips.net/video/CmP-nxLSmTI/видео.html
2 year update video is coming in July!
Whats the shaft length on that hangon
Please mention the brand of each boat.
Both are Bris. The links to both are in the video description.
Really appreciate the videos.. Which one do you prefer the 10ft orange model or the 10.8 - What advantages does one have over the other?
I think we Can to improve the performance of this motor Just adjusting the carburetor.
Hey there. Thanks for the vid. Are the seams glued or welded?
They are heat welded.
@@HufflerGarage Cool, thanks :)

I am looking for gas tank set up and also battery.
Get built in tank. Or bug portal gas tank long range
It’s been over a year, how have they held up?

2 year update is coming in July 2022!
Does the Bris Boat needs to be registered 8.2
It depends on where you live. Where we live, if you put at motor on it, it has to be registered. If we were just using the oars, it would not have to be.
I live in florida
Thank you, very helpful
Glad to hear, thanks for watching!
Are there any laws regarding using an outboard with an hp rating more than the boat is rated for?
That would depend on where you live. Where we live there are no laws that we know of to prohibit that.
How do you transport them? Do you deflate them? Or just toss them in the truck bed?
We have only transported them once and we deflated them for that. We are looking into building a trailer that we can stack them on.
So how did you go about getting this registered did you fill it up when you got to regitor
Short shaft or long shaft outboard?
Short shaft
I’m thinking about buying the 15.4 BRIS boat. Are you still happy with the one you have? Do you still recommend it? Are there any issues you think I need to know about?

We've had these for almost 3 years and haven't had any issues. They're great little boats, especially for the price.
@@HufflerGarage thank you. I really appreciate you getting back to me.

Are the BRIS boats glued or welded at the seams?
They are heat welded.
Dont know yet
To spend that much Its better to get 14' or larger aluminum boat. They are very easy to take care of. safe and cheep to use
Really depends on your scenario. Inflatables and Aluminum boats are both great for their specific applications.
Poly craft has 14. Foot. Cabin cruser

Zodiac is better quality but you are going to pay allllooooot more.
Also, how do they handle when you hit big wakes from other boats
They handle pretty well. We took them out in the open ocean and they did good.
