Fun Fact: There's also a way to save the cat. Basically, you have to use the glass to pick up the wine that drops on the floor once the mom's bottle breaks. Then you have to give it to the rat. The rat will then write a new entry in your diary that gives you a new song to play. Playing that song will cause a small rat to appear. You have to guide that rat to the piano room. Then the cat will jump out from behind the painting and eat the rat, before jumping on the piano and crushing the monster inside. Then, after you kill the Grim Reaper dude and jump down into the spirit realm thing, the cat will follow you. During the TV cutscene, you'll then see the cat sleeping on the floor.
I guess the house didn't want to take a cat soul just for the sheer fact that its a cat.
And if you end up saving the cat, the end screen where you are watching the TV will have the cat sleeping on the floor

You never saw it, but the old man rips your face off when he catches you, and that specific death helps explain some dialogue. It's why the grandma calls him the "man with the faces", and also why one of the spirits under the house was surprised to see people with faces down there. He does it to Melody right away because she's not supposed to be awake, but he probably does it to everyone if they're asleep long enough to be fully "claimed".
I think the Facestealer is the one who claims the souls of those who were trapped inside the accursed house.
The idea of that most of the family members were put to sleep and then they experience a harrowing nightmare of an endless time loop allows the Facestealer to steal their souls in the physical world. He seems to be independent from the lingering atmosphere of the House though.
I likehow at the end all the family memebers are laid to rest and get to apologize, gaining closure, and I love how the neighbor doesn't lose her long neck and also takes in the girls

It's interesting how they make unique gameplay for Tabby's sister. While she had father issues case, Melody actually has some more secrets like her boyfriend who died, grandma who reached her about music and different but similar to her older sister mission

Is it just me, or does the scissor woman who wants to play hide and seek with Melody look very similar to the doll that taunted Tabby throughout her journey before Tabby destroyed her?

There's actually dialogue in the game where the scissor girl asks Melody if she liked the doll she made for her and asks Melody if she recognizes her, so the doll from the base game really seems to be connected to the scissor girl
I'm pretty sure one the lines for scissor girl is there's no end or something you know like the doll said

No honestly the neighbour head is fine since ive seen the teachers head in little nightmares 2 extend way longer and more high quality so its more scary

I have too, but I've always known the neighbor in the first House game to be pretty nice and helpful. Long neck, sure, it weirded me out when I first saw it, but she always established herself as a descent person who wanted to help. I didn't except her to chomp off Tabby's head like a f*cked-up snake

You need the cat to be alive at the end to join you after you jump down into the underground

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but I just realized the way you get the true ending is breaking the GRANDFATHER clock.
The first time he cut the mother with the scissors ✂️ he didn’t exactly slip more like the mother turn and kick melody for cutting her legs with the scissors ✂️ causing melody to fall forward and die

I thought HOuSE (I spelled like that because of the title screen) has fallen out of relevancy because everybody finished it
There is 1 more ending, well more like bonus to the ending. First you need to get the bucket than brake mom` s wine and pick it up from the floor ,after that give it to the big rat he will give you a new song. By this point it will be late to do the ending so just restart the day and go find the little rat that goes around the living room and gives sandwiches and play the song to him ,than go to the piano room and the cat will get the rat and kill the piano when its starts playing the song. Than after that just get the ending again it will be different, you will know that you got it when you jump down and cat follows you. I hope it helps ;)
I didn't expect a dlc to come out but it's very welcome
There are many strange things in this update, there seems to be a lot more trees and the house seems to be much more weathered. Also, the corpse of the old man that tabby killed and the main game now has trees growing out of it. I find it hopeful that if in this DLC we can save tabby’s sister and their cat, maybe in the future we will be able to save more

There was also the reflection of the mother, father and boyfriend beside Melody in the water.
The song you sing on the flut to summon the grandma sounds like the main song from Disney pixars UP
I'm sure that the scissor lady and the doll are one in the same, I thought that before and now this DLC seems to confirm this thought because the malice towards Tabby and then the kindness towards Melodie

The bouncy animation style and the item swapping sound really remind me of a game called forager!
My theory is that the shadow girl holding the melody doll is the girl that possesed the doll in a pink dress, the thin shadow man poking tabby is the thin shadow enemies in the first game

Why is no one talking about how creepy Toby is? He is MUCH taller than Melody which leads me to believe he is too old for her and since he died hes been waiting and watching in the bathroom????? ( Melody used the bathroom in the first part of the game) No wonder the dad lost it and killed him... with or with out the house's influence.... Melody is a little girl... younger than Tabby.
Also kinda sucks grandmom liked melody way more than tabby :(

My little theory: maybe this is a game where all of the family members need to escape this cursed house, like Tabby did, so now is Melody, then the next maybe is the Dad maybe the Dad story maybe we can see how the Dad killed Toby and Toby died then the Mum, maybe Mum story is she founded out about Toby has died, is kinda like Mr. Hopps playhouse
Never thought I'd see this game again but I'm very glad I did. I love that we got a chance to save Melody and I really hope we can do that for the rest of the family
Interesting thing I noticed you can see someone in the reflection of the water at 36:17 next to melody, I think it’s Toby but I’m not entirely sure. I’m not the only one who sees that right?
Edit: upon closer inspection it appears that the whole family is in the reflection next to melody Mom and Dad on the left and Toby on the right, how sweet :) AND THE CAT THE CAT IS THERE!
Fun fact: if you get the melody doll and go to the long neck neighbor you can play as melody.

It's not quite a horror game, but I suggest you play Everhood! It's scaryness is sorta existential, about how living forever is horrifying, it's got tons of cool characters, jamming music and unique rythm game/RPG gameplay! It reminds me of Deltarune/Undertale, but of course it makes its own identity.
Out of this Dlc and the actual game, or any other horror game for that matter, should really consider on becoming movies. They're just THAT good!

Well i think it has a reference to Up (or so i think)
If you skip to 8:35, the tune sounds like the song from Up, "Married Life"
So٫ the basic gist is:
The grandmother and grandfather are both dead. Grandma is the spirit with the book٫ Grandpa is the old man controlling everything. This was passed on to the father٫ James٫ who married the mother٫ and had Melody and Tabby. Tabby is the alive one here٫ and does the true ending. Then٫ in her nightmare dreams of this place٫ the neighbor and her give Melody a chance to escape. Melody and the mother are both٫ by the sounds of if٫ angry at Tabby for leaving them behind. Now٫ without the grandpa٫ the spirits in the house go haywire٫ getting new forms٫ and Toby's spirit is corrupted. Eventually٫ Melody is going to escape.. Somehow.

Hey, Mike. I know an older horror like game you should play, that I have suggested before:
Epic Mickey is where Mickey Mouse gets pulled into a wasteland that is corrupted by the Shadow Blot, a creature made out of paint and thinner from a magical brush owned by master Wizard Yen Sid. You use the brush to fight enemies and take care of certain walls and pumps. You have to fight your way through the dangers to stop the Shadow Blot,literally retrieve your heart, and save Wasteland. There are some control issues, but it's still fun to play. I even have a theory that I might put on my channel, one day.
