Join us in the beautiful Florida Keys for an exciting Catch, Cook, and Clean adventure with one of the area’s most sought-after delicacies - stone crabs! In this video, we take you step-by-step through our sustainable process, from setting traps to enjoying a fresh, delicious meal. We start by placing our traps in the bayside waters, which we allow to soak for a full seven days. This waiting period gives the traps time to fill up, increasing the chance of a good catch while minimizing the impact on the local crab population. Stone crabs are unique in that they naturally regenerate their claws, making them an eco-friendly seafood choice.
After pulling up our traps, we carefully measure each claw to ensure they meet legal size requirements, allowing undersized crabs to return to the water and regrow. Once harvested, we prepare our claws by boiling them in a large pot with oils and seasonings to bring out their rich, sweet flavor. After boiling, we ice the claws to stop the cooking process and keep the meat tender and juicy.
The stone crab claws are then cracked and served alongside an array of dipping options, including classic cocktail sauce, hot sauce, and melted butter, enhancing each bite with a burst of flavor.
