I've always been a fan of yours, so being a game dev for zombicide and finding it in your shelf made my day! Loved your "hardcore" campaign idea
Casually drops ProZD is Rank 1 in the world in Perudo on BGA which has over 200,000 games played.
I like videos where sungwon is just chill and relaxing out like this
Sooo all his videos?
I know that Sungwon collects and reviews a lot of board and tabletop games on his channel, but I was WHOLLY unprepared for how massive that zoom out was at the beginning holy cow, mad props
Don't visit the board game subreddit. There's people out there who own like 5 of these shelves.
I own like 10 board games that are stores in a wooden cupboard like thing
But my friend has one of those shelves that sungwon has and its full of games
I still prefer my own collection with the exception of one game that i dont have
it's amazing how much of an upgrade frosthaven is on gloomhaven, and I "finished" gloomhaven twice, my group has been playing it and it just got so many improvements it's crazy
Given you’ve already played it twice do you think you’ll get 2nd edition? Supposedly it’s going to have some improvements to put it more on par with Frosthaven.
damn, I read your comment, thought I responded and saw I didn't later, I don't think we'll get a second edition, they rebalanced a lot of the classes so you could play on frosthaven (you could play vanilla but some of them are completely broken while others are completely garbage) and I imagine they'd rather be working on new stuff, given how much they changed of the gloom classes It would take quite a bit of work to 2nd ed the first game, but that's just my opinion, don't @ me on >later date, when they drop that exact announcement@@Kermitron
Such a cool collection, and great memory of all the games included in it. Only grew up with the classic games like monopoly, Loteria, checkers, and chess. Would of loved to give these a try.
I'm so surprised that you don't have Arkham Horror the LCG. Have you ever played it? If not, I cannot recommend it enough. One of the hardest, most immersive games I've ever played
King’s Dilemma is extraordinary! I suggest getting a group of folks who are willing to play it consistently, similar to a D&D campaign. Highly recommended for anybody who likes legacy games, medieval fantasy, or just having a good time with friends!
My dnd group just started playing this last week! It's our new board game to pull out when we can't organise a regular dnd session.
I came down to the comments to say exactly this!! It’s my favorite game of all time
My group bounced off kings dilemma very hard. There was no game other than guessing how much influence you need to use for positions critical to your character. It's pretty much a loose narrative game to allow for role playing.
My board gaming group didn't like King's Dilemma. I can see why it's a much better game for RPG/D&D groups, they tend to enjoy storytelling, which I think the game does well.
@@toannguyen1 tales off Arabian nights was a much better "game" for storytelling.
The shelf looks great! I'm fascinated by your board game collection - looking to expand mine so I'll definitely try some of these. Thanks for sharing!
Only have 15 crossovers with your collection. Really enjoyed this stream of consciousness video! Many of these have shot up in priority on my want-to-try list now
Bookmarking this, always love board game recs!
I love that you have Summer Camp! A lot of people consider it a kids game, but I really enjoy it. I use that to introduce people to deck building. Another fun one is Quest for El Dorado. I saw you have Rajas of the Ganges, too. It’s my favorite game! Thanks for sharing your collection!
Great timing for holiday gift ideas!
Calling Calico very chill is such a flex. That game is such a brain burner!
If you enjoy Flamecraft, I would suggest a small deck-building game called Tea Dragon Society. It is a competitive deck and engine building game where everyone plays a cute dragon named after various teas through the four seasons to collect the most victory points.
"I haven't played it though"
Felt that in my soul
I would definitely consider getting Root! Amazing asymmetrical board game where every faction involved plays differently making replayability great!
I think he mentioned trying it and not loving it a long time ago, but I agree, I'm a huge fan of Root and would love to see Sungwon try it again and give his thoughts. I basically spent all of 2020 playing Root from morning to evening.
Dont blame you its such a fun game once everyone understands how to play!@@awsome8118
I think root just feels too limited and 1 dimensional personally
I enjoy playing the lizards to some degree but its not a game i am excited to play usually
It's always interesting to see another game collection and hear about details regarding how you got it, what you think about it, why you keep it, and other stuff.
Agreed with regard to Fallout the board game, which is why I got Atomic Bonds for the last copy of it I had.
Question: have you ever checked out a game called Sakura Arms?
But where is the cow game?
We have a huge overlap! Really glad to see you got Matrix Legendary - was wondering since you love Marvel Legendary so much. I thought it was just such fantastic fun romp through the movies. I’m not sure how much replay value it will have, but loving it regardless in the meantime.
I wonder how many people can play these games.
Great collection
Kind of wanted to see your thoughts on both Terraforming Mars since I didn’t know you had them
That's a nice starter collection... keep at it.
what a great collection of board games!
Incredible collection!! So many of our favorites there, Calico doesn’t get enough love. Have you seen Undaunted Stalingrad? Took the whole series to a new level for us!
Stalingrad was No Pun Included's GOTY! very cool system for a campaign
I'm playing through a Gloomhaven campaign now with some friends and it's fantastic. I've also gotten a lot of mileage out of the Stardew Valley board game.
It's a great testament to how many board games there are out there when I'm comparing my collection to yours and there's so little overlap. I've got close to 300 in my collection, but there's an overlap of about 20 titles. We do use the same black gaming mat as you do though.
Saw Gloomhaven in the thumb and had to click. Huge fan!
Aeon's End! I love this game so much.
my wife and I buy every game of this -- we also played both the legacy games and continue to buy a new expansion each birthday/xmas.
we've played it so much that we've gone through ranking every individual card in the supply from all the games -- giving them a rating "trash, ok, great" and then playing through every Nemesis with only cards we (at the start) deemed "trash" -- fun way to understand and learn about other cards that you don't normally use
Thanks for sharing!
board games are like art pieces that you interact with.
You didn't talk about Rajas of the Gangees but it's one of the best worker placement games so thematic and a lot going on with dice and tile placement as well 😀
Based on the number of Deckbuilders you have I feel like you should play Quest for Eldorado. You may have already played it but I feel like you’d enjoy it. Thanks for the content
I'm new to BGA, but I love hearing which games people prefer on BGA vs playing irl. I find games like Castles of Burgundy to be nice on BGA because there are so many fiddly components that it's nice to have it automated.
also even though I'm a huge fan of Azul's components, it's nice to play on BGA to get a wide variety of opponents
The Agricola implementation on BGA is great. And the game is great. Easily my favorite worker placement/euro.
If playing turn-based, then games with long player turns are perfect, like Through the Ages.
@@awsome8118 agreed. You can play world class players on BGA. Azul is my most played game on BGA. Great game.
I recommend memoir 44. WW2 scenario play through. It takes a lot of set up, so it's best on BGA
Nice! My two favorites are citadels and galaxy truckers.
Nice collection. Also Fallout does have a co-op expansion maybe interested.
Cries in no time energy and space
Since you liked Clank! you might be interested in Tango Tek's Decked Out minigame built inside the Hermitcraft server. It's based on Clank!
Seeing Calico just reminds me of Werner Herzog’s board game review, one of my favorite little videos
There's an expansion for the Fallout Board Game called Atomic Bonds, which turns the game from vs. to co-op. A much-needed expansion that should've been the default from the start.
I think it would be really fun to see a board game played out live, kind of like Matt Mercer's Critical Role series.
I see you with the shelf of Spanish-named games
If you don't mind rebuying Gloomhaven, I'd recommend playing Second Edition which is releasing next year!
"My wife always complains cause I'm always bringing in new games and she's like 'Can we play the games that we have?'" I hope Anne Marie knows that's just how board gamers roll (pun intended).
Hey thank you for sharing !
It seems you got your cat interested in playing some board games.
So obviously I saw you have Twilight Struggle and I was curious if you've ever ventured into the endless and complex world of Wargames? I know TS is often a sort-of intro game to that whole world. I just recently got "Paths of Glory" also from GMT games and I think I might be obsessed with it now and it's certainly my favorite war/strategy board game that I've ever played (not counting chess). Curious if you've ever ventured into that territory, since it's kind of it's own weird niche.
Basically every game: “Great game where you’re going around doing some stuff.”
Have you played Tuscany for viticulture? I think it's worth keeping it physically because Tuscany isn't on BGA and the 4 seasons board is really great
tuscany is dope, wish it was on BGA
I love seeing other people's board game collections. I always check what games we have in common.
So, games in common:
Paperback, Forbidden Desert, Forbidden Island, Love Letter, Space Base, Zombicide: Black Plague, Five Tribes (but I'm trying to move it on as we just don't play it any more), Tyrants of the Underdark, Godzilla:Tokyo Clash, Fallout (you MUST get the Atomic Bonds expansion that makes the game fully co-operative. The game is a lot more fun that way), Flamecraft, Everdell, Viticulture, Unfair, Concordia, Great Western Trail, Ticket to Ride Europe.
You know, for a board game reviewer who has reviewed close to 300 games, I'm surprised how mainstream his board game collection is, especially the party game section. There are a couple of games he reviewed that I am surprised are not on his main shelf, like Tidal Blades, Tak, Too Many Bones. Other make sense, like Machi Koro getting fired by Space Base.
SungWon sure knows his games
Where's dale of merchaaaants?! Great collection man
Forbidden Desert Yuuuuus
With your love for deck building, have you played Emenint Domain?
Hey SungWon, it appears to me that you need some Dune: Imperium expansions, both are really good. Have you tried Brass? Also, I am sooo jealous of some of those, my collection is like a fifth of yours
I only recently got into board game collecting on a sheer whim, so I was interested to see if we share any games in our collections. I am proud to announce that we share...one! And it's one I bought before I even started collecting board games, lmao. I dunno why but I saw Mystic Vale and went "that looks cool. I wanna try that". And then of course you know you buy board games and then never play them, but some day. I will try it. i did play a digital version on Steam and i enjoyed that so hopefully the boxed game is just as good if not better.
I did get a chance to play Fox in the Forest with my boyfriend on my vacation with him, and while it wasn't quite on your recommendation, it was a game I bought at my local game store's recommendation for a small two person co-op game, and your review of the game was how I learned to play it before I actually set out to visit him, and you did recommend it so i felt extra confident I had made a great choice. And I did, he quite enjoyed it and he actually beat me, and we both grasped things really well thanks to me being able to explain it in part to your video. So thank you very much for that. I like hearing you talk about board games no matter what the context is, so keep it up my man.
Love the anecdote :) Enjoy the holidays
Actually impressive
So jelous you have the whole Legendary collection. I am still trying to hunt down Civil War & X-Men sets.... Do you still actively purchase even the latest expansions?
I didn’t notice you haven’t done a board game collection vid but now here it is, why have you never done this before???
Those barcodes facing us in the first cube were quite upsetting. Thankfully, I got past it and enjoyed the rest of your collection.
We need more of your videos 😢
I also own all of legendary! Where did you get the custom dividers? I made my own but those look way better.
Dude I'll challenge you to perudo! One of my favorites
Oh man, I've been trying to hunt down Eclipse Second Edition for such a long time. I've.come across the 1st edition but want those sweet, new components! Have you ever played Quantum? It is one of my favorite board games of all time! 🤩 But sadly they don't print it anymore.
Aeons end is phenomenal have played all of it myself. Who is your favorite mage?
One day I'll have the space for a shelf that big. It's not today, but maybe one day.
This is so cool! I would LOVE to see your video game collection in the future!!
A couple of plaid hat games, have you tried summoner wars?
Dude our collections are pretty darn similar! I’m playing JOTL with my brother right now; have you played gloomhaven digital yet?
"What do you say we go over to your house and...play a game 😏"
ProZD:
I love Eclipse Second dawn so much, such a fun game
Great collection. Reviewers usually have way more ok games since they buy and get sent a lot and cant let them go. What are your thoughts on ti?
Great collection, since you play so many deck building and legacy games I really hope you played the Harry potter hogwarts battle game. Great with multiple expansions.
Have you played Art Decko? Very cool economic deck builder themed around art in a museum. I love evangelizing this one. No one talks about it. It’s worth a shot!
Ooh, please do a review of Mechs vs Minions!
Extra Nice 🎲
you're missing Euthia: Torment of Resurrection, sir ;P
That one game at the beginning with the angry birds font
Forbidden Desert is still the best one. The spider alien pieces in the new one are really top-heavy.
NIce, I use the same dividers for marvel legendary
Shards of Infinity is sooooooo good.
have you heard of a game called "Citadels"? i haven't played it yet but it looks fun.
It’s a good one
We call that game “machiavelli”
Which is a much cooler name
Nice!
You apparently REALLY like deckbuilders 😂
7/10. Needs more Knizia
Dang, Legendary Villains. Wish they finally reprinted them
There actually is an expansion for Fallout that makes it co-op. Plays way better that way!
I would watch the Zombiecide playthroughs. I have Zombiecide Invaders and love it. Not enough RUclipsrs play it though.
I want the GCCX Love Letter, badly.
For Fallout, I assume someone mentioned it already, there's a small expansion pack that makes it a coop game. Much better that way.
Can someone tell me what song this is? It feels so familiar but I can't quite place it
Nice, but where is Kinfire Chronicles? I heard it got great voice acting xD
Great western trail used to be my favorite game. Now it's Gwt: Argentina (new zealand is also good)
Id always wondered if proZD had played Root, and I guess I have my answer
pfft, no Twilight Imperium? filthy casual 😉
I’d be interested in watching his game group do a weekend play of TI
I don't know if you'd played Clever 4Ever, the most recent of the Clever games. That is my favorite of the all the Clever games.
Watergate. King x2.
wow you have Fabled Fruit =D played that one with my sibs
Marvel Zombies just arrived!
alright here's a question fro you: do you have karata??????
ProZD made this video to show off how much more money and friends he has than me.
