To 1993 this song was on the radio 24/7 I was pregnant with my daughter now she will 30 yrs old Oct 25th how time flys this band is the greatest miss their music today
These guys warmed up for the blues traveler and Allman Bros at stowe mountain in Vermont mid 90s . Circule and bittersweet we're two of the Best jams at the whole concert and a Lot of good music . Good times . Miss those days
They were the backup band for Allman Brothers at Oak Mountain Amphitheater near Birmingham, Alabama and they blew us away. One of my all time favorites.
So, after almost 20 years of wondering and searching, I FINALLY found the song that got stuck in my head when listening to KTYD in the summer of 1993 during my daily drive to UCSB from Ventura. I couldn't remember the artist, just a melodic hook at the end of the chorus involving the word ‘circle’. I thought the lyric (and title) might have been 'Full Circle', but my searches always got confused with the band. Man, that’s a mental itch that feels good to finally be scratched. TWENTY YEARS!!
All these years later, 20+ years, and never grow tired of them! I know exactly where I was the first time I heard them on TV. I was hooked instantly on this and Bittersweet, who n they performed on GMA. Bought their CD that very day!
Absolutely fantastic!!!! Soul Asylum was billed as the headliner, and they were really good, but BIg Head Todd and the Monsters actually played last, which was great, because it could not have been a better way to end the show!! Simply phenomenal, and they closed with "Boom Boom"....if only John Lee Hooker had walked out and performed it with them. Fantastic band, fantastic performance!!
Been looking for this for 20 years. Didn't even know who did it. Always remembered the lyrics though. Technology is good for something!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!! RISE AND FALL!!!!!
At the risk of repeating myself and every other die-hard BHTM fan in Colorado in the 90'. This song is quintessential of these guys. As a CU grad they personify what we love about them and the state of Colorado! Long live Todd Park Mohr and the guys!
Just something about the 90's music that was so captivating. A lot of the bands didn't need heavy production because their music could carry itself. Too many bands these days are using too much digital production and effects to "enahnce" their music...and in the end it loses its feeling and emotion. BHT always reminded me of Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. Very raw, very bluesy, and very powerful. Would have loved to see BHT, Ben Harper, and Pearl Jam together back in the day.
Exactly , speaking of blues i believe it's why they opened up for the blues traveler AND Allman bros in vt in the early 90s when i first saw them when they had bitersweet, AND circle two of thier top 5 jams on the billboard charts off whatever album it was they put out in early 90s . Maybe it was thier debut albut album ? Not sure but they were my favoite band at that show AND only were the warmup band , didn't know who they were before seeing them live , AND as i said the tickets were for the blues traveler AND Allman bros even though the Allman bros were great AND More famous i believe bighead Todd AND the monsters were the highlight of a show that had 2 More great bands . Sitting on the Hill of ski slope at Stowe with a chainlink fence to try AND keep people who didn't have tix from getting in , múltiple people climbed over the chainlink fence to get in AND would run down the ski slope AND take off shirt to dissapear into the crowd . But one dude Man the crazy security guard chased this kid down the Hill AND Made a diving Tackle at full speed downhill taking the poor dude down in the ditch where the snowguns go up the side of the ski slope . I never really looked but it was a flying Tackle at full sprint. Someone had to have gotten hurt or been real sore after that. Imagine a security guy that would do that over one dude climbing the fence to avoid what was like a 15$ entry fee at the time? Absolutly insane. These days that would be a big lawsuit, it's like a cop that would run a bike or car off the road for failing to stop over a speeding ticket or shooting a fleeing suspect in the back that was running away over a misdeameanor of some Sort . Way over the top . AND the security guy could have broke His own body as well as they went flying tumbling into the ditch where the snow making equipment lines the Edge of the slope into the a 3 foot ditch running downhill at 15 to 20mph est. ? One of the craziest things i saw at a concert . AND i saw a Lot of fked up stuff over those years in the late 80s AND 90s with some shows having hospital tents for all the injuries AND people freaked out dosing at reggae fest in Burlington vt for example . Mosh pits that got people wrecked at lalapooloza , crowdsurfers that got tossed to ground , someone jumped off upperdeck to floor at a stadium show i was at, i wasn't there but the worse one i heard and read about was when the hells angels ran security for i think what was a rolling Stones show AND someone or or a couple got killed by overzealous security . The world Is soft now , that's when shows were crazy during the best years of concerts growing up in 80s AND 90s .
Yes sir, saw these guys live play circle , bittersweet and a couple more when they were warm up band for blues traveler and Allman bros outdoors at Stowe mountain in Vermont . Like almost 30 years ago . Good Time , miss those days .
This song takes me back to my senior year of high school! What great memories. I remember listening to my local rock radio station for hours at a time just so I could record it to a cassette tape.
Unbelievable and embarrassing I'm 56 years old and I just now discovered this song at 2 in the morning and played it over and over and over where was I I must have been hanging around Pearl Jam concerts Nirvana Alice in Chains how did I miss this song
Sounds like you were at Lollapalooza 2 , all three of the bands you mentioned played that fest. Big head Todd at Stowe mountain in Vermont played first before blues traveler and last the Allman bros . Anyone else go to these shows ?
@@johnrod007 Right on . I also went to lalapooza 2 ,in upstate NY , red hot , chilli Peps, Alice n chains, nirvana, Jesús y Mary Chaín , lots up grunge rock bands , good times , psybicillan shrooms , I think it was 87' when went to Live aid in the Giants stadium in NJ , Stones , U2, Santana , Peter Gabriel, myles Davis , Howard Jones , was crazy like 9 hours long str8 músic , buddy worked lighting for U2 Joshua tres tour that was during that and got my friend AND i in free , hotel free, and i was backstage peeked through the curtain about 5 minutes before opening band who i can't remember so many different bands but crazy to have 75000 people hollerin when i stuck my head through the curtain , might have been some obscure band like the wallflowers that played 1st , can't Remember all of then. Even Yoko Ono Sang a couple off key Tunes some dude threw a frisbee AND missed her head by inches . Was in about the third Row all day after they ushered me a my buddy off the stage after giving peace sign to crowd through the curtain. It was like in the 90s° AND they we're using a fire hose to cool down the crowd in front because a couple people passed out from heat. I saw a picture in Time magazine AND i couldn't see my face but i had no shirt on AND was waving my t-shirt around in the air like the insane cat i was in the day and definately can see my arm and t-shirt in the photo in Time magazine. So many concerts in life . Stones in shea stadium on Halloween in around 89' had a Grim reaper costume on , tore my seat out and sold it for 20$ on the way out of shea, should have saved it . I remember a Little after that Billy Joel played last show there before they tore down the old shea stadium. Santana 4 times between the ágora ballroom in Hartford Connecticut in 84' AND last time about 3 years ago again at outdoor venue in Ct. Stevie Ray Vaughan in great woods Massachusetts months before His plane crash. Last greatful dead show i saw in highgate vt. An extra 20,000 PPL knocked fence down to enter in 1st hour of show . J geils band was my 1st concert. Zz tipo a couple times , the cure in 85' at Roger Williams college in Rhode isñand , black Sabbath AND blue oyster cult , Roger waters a couple times , played half pink Floyd Tunes as did robert plant played half the show with led Zeppelin songs . Def Leppard , U2 múltiple shows , Eminem, the insane clown posee , Mac Miller , the list goes on some of the best concerts we're the entire weekend reggae fests in Vermont each year from 90-97 AND the bread AND puppet circus in Vermont before raves got crazy AND they stopped those crazy outdoor gigs way up Vermont . Had to have 100,000 PPL or More for the entire weekend invade small farm towns such as hardwick vt or North beach in Burlington vt had to be one of the best my 1st reggae fest at 23 years old. Never ends , hoping to see a few More shows before death. Big head Todd at Stowe mountain with Allman bros was excellect . Hope to see bad bunny , post Malone AND anyone else i can . Staind in Springfield Mass before they we're huge , i problaby forgot More than double of what listed . Even saw the Stones show up at Toads place in New Haven AND wasn't a sheduled show or at least they didn't announce it as it was a warm up stop during steel wheels tour , Santana at the ágora ballroom in 84 was quite possibly the best Time i ever had at a bar with about 1000-1200 PPL showed up with a shirt AND tie by end of concert was topless with bottle of Budweiser in each hand . Jumped out of airplanes 9 times and hit 90 foot doubles at moto x races but never got the Rush of some of those shows . Life Is short. Live it.
You are exactly right about this song and what it means, except I think it's about something completely different. Think trampolines. Circular? Check.. Rise and fall? Check.. Trampolines are life? check. it just goes on and on.
Seems like we all remember bighead Todd warming up for decent bands that we cant fully remember. Must have been that so many ppl were on shrooms or dosing in the 90s . They warmed up for a blues traveler AND allman bros show i saw outdoors in vermont and as good as the allman bros are i could have preferred to listen to bighead Todd play the entire show . Went never having heard of them in 93' and left saying that warm up band was the best ive ever seen . Although i did see stevie ray Vaughan warm up for robert plant and aside from the second half of plants show playing all Zeppelin tunes stevie ray also was a warmup that also outdid the main act for the most part . Sadly he got killed in plane crash about a month after i saw him . Guy played the guitar with his teeth for real , behind his back and in every position possible and never missed a chord .
I think this was the first Big Head Todd tune I ever heard. Fell in love immediately with the guitar work & the rhythm patterns. Been a fan ever since.
cjack56 same here first song I ever heard from this group. Sitting in my car listening to this song as my buddy was in his car. Turned it up and was rocking. Real adrenalin as we were going mountain bike riding.
So true they seemed to be warm up band for a Lot of shows in the 90s AND had More vibe AND outperformed the bands they warmed up for . I wanted them to not stop playing when they warmed up for blues traveler AND Allman bros band AND only played like a 5 five song set but were better than the blues traveler AND equally talented AND fresher than the legengendary Allman bros.
I root for the underdog! Big Head Todd & The Monsters were the underdog. Looking forward to seeing them in Des Moines. My fault, it's been a LONG time!
i felt the same way back 2000 went to myrtle beach house of blues 2 nights in a row drove back and forth from chas sc ive seen them also in chas sc @ the wind jammer 3 nights in a row they cover 95% of all there stuff what a great show!! some tall hott chick got up on stage with them about fell over lol great memories:)
When I was in high school, there were like 3 girls I was involved with, not all at the same time, that this song reminds me of. My senior spring break at Myrtle Beach, this album was at the height during that period of my life. Great damn times back then. I'd love to go back.
My daughter and I caught these guys at the District in Sioux Falls SD this weekend. Amazing show. The "opener" was Kris Lager Band from Omaha. Another great set of music.
Oh Man! First time I heard these guys I was living on St. Thomas in 93. A brother from Denver brought them to me. A little ganja and Big Head Todd......I was hooked instantly. Great times in a former life.
Love them. Sooo many good songs. Soo well written & presented. Loved the Brandy cover. Keep on keeping on guys, I'll keep listening...This is the Pink Floyd of BHT.🎼🎼🎼🎼love this.
I can remember seeing them at Irvine Meadows. Opened for Blind Melon who opened, for someone else. I can't even recall who the main act was. This must have been in 1995 or 1994. I was hooked immediately. Such an under rated band. Poor saps, not even 500 people listening to the opening acts. Idiots. Thank you for the upload. It just doesn't get any better.
Yup , blind melón a other band they opened up for in the 90s AND should have been the main gig. I see it over and over comments of them warming up only to steal the show as they did when i didn't know who they we're in 93' warming up for the blues traveler.
I was 10 years old when this song came out. It is my favorite song, ever. It reminds me of those childhood dreams, that are not going to happen. I was so full of hope then. The world was at my fingertips, and I let it slip away.
+Alexander Steiner I'm with you on this. This song has a special meaning and memory for me as well. Forgone times....never to return. So we find strength in what remains behind. It's a beautiful song. That never changes.
Saw this band in the early 90's as an opening band for I don't remember, that's how good they were Don Hendley, or Neil Young I really don't remember yeah I may have been high as f#&k , but i've been listening to them since and they've only gotten better awesome band !!
This song is almost grunge bro, I’ve been studing your music and career m, Keep Rocking it, I put you beside Eddie VanHalen as far as a man Artists, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 10/10 Belus
I seen them in INDY, several times , I thought they were z Chicago band like the why store or Freddie Jones band doing midwest because of logistics, big following around Indy, chi, ohio, then to find out they were Boulder, Co. sure explans love for red rocks, but who wouldn't want to play there all the time anyways one day I'll get their it's on my bucket list, shows you what loyalty is and people know what's good they stick,
Young Men: if you want her to fall in love with you play this album while you’re intimate with each other and it’s game over just book the wedding date at that point. Your welcome!
Still listening in 2024! Good God we are still alive🦋
One of the best Big head Todd songs 🤘🤘🤘🤘
These guys are so underrated that it's not even funny. Such a really solid band still in 2024

I just heard Bittersweet for the first time on my car radio last week ! Great music!! And I'm 73...
Most underrated band of the 90's, as far as I am concerned. I loved these guys...
Agreed. Just listened to album again. It's crazy good album. Still relevant.
I was ABOUT to say...
Completely concur
No doubt
some badass boyz

Tom ....on the freeway in Wyoming. Stopped at Alcoa, they had more Cassettes than the town had people. I bought one.
That's a cool story.
Saw them at an Outdoor Show when they put out this album. Really Good. They Toured Often.
I love the sound of that guitar 🥰

This is a goosebump-inducing song for me. Fucking LOVE this song. One of the best rock songs ever made, IMHO.

As a bass player, all their songs rock.
Unquestionably. 👍

A friend shared them with me just last year. Bitter Sweet was the first one i got to listen to. Needless to say I was blown away. Outstanding music !
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!, Yeah!, NahNahNanaNanaNana. 3 minutes of bliss.
Kim Kess I have loved this band especially Circle for almost 20 years.
Can't wait to see them perform this entire album at Target Field in Minneapolis in six days!!!!
Do I have a terrible ear for music, or is this underrated stuff? Maybe it's just nostalgia.
No. It's a damn incredible group with a incredible album.
I agree. I saw them at Big sky montana. Awesome.
Today is Travis Meeks Birthday!
I love you Trav....
Awesome album 👏👏👏🎶🎶🎶
My favorite bht song
Especially when seen and heard at red rocks ❤️
I was 10 years old when this song came out. It is my favorite song, ever. It reminds me of those childhood dreams, that are not going to happen. I was so full of hope then. The world was at my fingertips, and I let it slip away.
+Alexander Steiner Thank you K-she 95.
said pretty much everybody else too...there's beauty in the flower but only so an hour. Hour's over.
Dianne Buschelman So I should stop dreaming? Most of my pedals have fallen off, but I think I'm still beautiful, or at least I still smell good?
+Alexander Steiner I'm with you on this. This song has a special meaning and memory for me as well. Forgone times....never to return. So we find strength in what remains behind. It's a beautiful song. That never changes.
Dianne Buschelman Yeah, the ghosts of yesterday don't rest so easily. Especially when yesterday is so appealing.
Awesome band a lot of memories
Saw this band in the early 90's as an opening band for I don't remember, that's how good they were Don Hendley, or Neil Young I really don't remember yeah I may have been high as f#&k , but i've been listening to them since and they've only gotten better awesome band !!
Haha . Lol . They did it every Time as they warmed up for so many bands that they stole the show from in 93' AND 94'
Excellent
Seen with Peter Frampton in KCMO..great show

This song is almost grunge bro, I’ve been studing your music and career m, Keep Rocking it, I put you beside Eddie VanHalen as far as a man Artists, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 10/10 Belus
Ah yes the early 90s! The last time that Rock music mattered. Hopefully with bands like Greta van Fleet and Rival Sons we can turn it back around.
YaYaYaYaaa...
NaNaNa...
I seen them in INDY, several times , I thought they were z Chicago band like the why store or Freddie Jones band doing midwest because of logistics, big following around Indy, chi, ohio, then to find out they were Boulder, Co. sure explans love for red rocks, but who wouldn't want to play there all the time anyways one day I'll get their it's on my bucket list, shows you what loyalty is and people know what's good they stick,
This song was like Dave Mathews performing Eve 6 before either of them.
Yeah Man
All so true.
