That's a beautiful cymbal! &, your "demo-ing" of it excellent/you take your time. I've seen a couple of your other videos, you're playing and transcriptions are excellent! But I have to say, I absolutely love the sound of those gretsch Catalina's! That's it, the sound is perfect!

Few can demo a cymbal this way, even great players; heh, we want to audition the instrument, not a washing machine agitator. Here, the cymbal and the drums compliment each other and speak for themselves. Well done.

    Delicious, with plenty of wash!
It’s a matter of personal taste, naturally, but I highly recommend using Vic Firth’s AS 8D sticks (with round tips). They give a very defined, woody, vintage-sounding attack. They’re currently my favorite sticks. (I used to favor 7AN/8DN.)

Thanks for the recommendation, I've never tried those before, I have to check them out!

I got AS 5As and love those tips the best. And somehow the pair i got feels more lightweight than my other 5As

@@coreyw5981 Weigh them. Vic Firth weight matches sticks in a single pair (usually within a gram), but not across the whole line. For example, my nylon-tip 8Ds are a tiny bit heavier than my current AS 8Ds. Then again, I have a pair of brand new AS 8Ds that are about a gram lighter than the current pair. It’s wood, so it’ll never be uniform density/weight-wise.
