"So it turns out he died" ... lmao, great storyteller, Ethan XD
Talk about "burying the lead".
The best part is that he looks at all the guests while talking, rather than just Graham.
@@88omair Most guests do on this show, though. In fact, they often have whole conversations between themselves, while Graham happily takes a step back, as it's the guests nattering between themselves that makes the show so unique and compelling. It isn't often you get to see, say, Bill Bailey and Tom Cruise have a conversation!
mashallah tbark allah alhamdulillah inshallah better astagfirullah
Graham portraying the actor coming back cleaning his mouth saying ”excuse me” is extremely funny to me, I don't know why 😂
I found that too! Good timing comedy. Graham is a master at that.
That's the main reason why I've watched this a thousand times 😂
You're not the only one XD
Yeah, I genuinely lol'd at that
I actually loud giggled at that.
In public. Got looks.
Graham: he died?
Ethan: unfortunately yes... but he lived!
It was the best of times It was the worst of times
I thought of the exact same thing xD
Imagine if he came back on that day. "Terribly sorry, that last performance, it nearly killed me"
I understood that reference.
Toni Collette is like a talk show story hype man how adorable.
Your comment made me think how she or the others could possibly top Ethan's stories on the show. "Yeah, well, I had TWO actors die in my play! And Bigfoot was in the audience. That's right."
Ethan Hawke is an American treasure. So real so talented and down to earth.
“Just don’t get so angry” 😂 I enjoyed this story, I’m glad the guy made it!
Richard Easton actually just died December 2nd , 2019. 😔
1 hour ago very sad, but turns out he extended his life 13 years from the day of this story, which is quite extraordinary!
mashallah tbark allah alhamdulillah inshallah better astagfirullah
nawaf asmd heirbrufbridt ririebrirbrb
Or you could say, he lived another miraculous 13 years! It's still happy.
That happened in 2006. Richard went on to live another 13 years. Passing away in 2019
hope the audience gave a standing ovation
Sidenote, Toni Collette, a true Aussie legend and icon. Has been an amazing actor since Muriel's Wedding. We love you Toni
I was today years old when I found out Toni Collette wasn't American
I also thought she was American.
Ha me too
Me three.
nahh she's an Auzzie mate! (check out all of her Australian movies before she ended up in the States!
She made it big in the US with the Australian hit movie "Muriel's Wedding". :)
I adore Ethan Hawke. Such an amazing actor. He's still got it 😍
Jodie Fletcher handsome Hawke😍
Why ''still'' though? Why do you people always have to add ''still'' as if being so surprised that talented hansdome/beautiful people stay like that, it's not a surprise...
OMG, Ethan Hawke... I've loved him for such a long time... Since he was Todd Anderson, in fact!! Dead Poets Society will always be one of my favorite films...
Rebeca Matesanz O Captain My Captain!
Always thought he was cute in Dead Poets, but Before Sunrise was the film that really made me give my heart to him!
Exactly the same with me! I adored him in before sunrise!
Before Sunrise
Before Sunrise! My favorite movie! So simple. So pure. So beautiful...
"So did everybody leave?"
"No! Nobody left."
ahaha
Very glad to see Ethan Hawke on this show! Nice dude, great actor.
Thanks so much for all your love and support and I would love to know you all, feel free to message me on hangout

How horrifying! So glad he recovered!
Thanks so much for all your love and support, I will love to get to know you all, feel free to message me on hangout

Before sunset is my all time favorite movie ❤️. Love Ethan Hawk
Ethan Hawke was also great in 2016 remake of Magnificent 7. Loved his character.
My brother was in church with his girlfriend for Midnight Mass one Christmas Eve & the same thing happened. Guy keeled over in the aisle & someone started giving CPR & asking if there was a doctor to help. I asked what were people doing? Praying he said.
it turns out he died!
Jennah HBC o
@@Djponktitty as far as I know Richard Easton is still alive
@@danieleduchene-alessandrin6959 As in he did die on stage, but defib brought him back.
He respawned, don't worry
@Mercedes Moonlight yeah amazing that, maybe the secret to a long life is not being thought about!
Ethan Hawke is absolutely gorgeous!!!....I love him!!!! What a beautiful man!!!
Ethan Hawke is one of the finest actors of our time.
I love how into the story the blonde lady is.
THE BLONDE LADY aka fantastic actress Toni Collette hahaha
Elisa I didn't know who she was. Thanks for telling me
She is amazing. Watch "Little Miss Sunshine"
She is Muriel
Dude took “don’t make me angry” to a whole another level.
11 minutes? It's amazing they were able to bring him back, you're considered unresucitable between 7 and 10.
He may not have been legally dead for 11 minutes, but 11 minutes after he fell he was revived.
@@Paulafan5 someone was giving him CPR during the time before the paramedics came. When you do chest compressions even if the person is unresponsive it at least ups the chances of resuscitation than if you just left him.
My Grandma did CPR on my Grandpa after his heart attack for 20 minutes and he recovered.
11 minutes later.......
MAN - those 11 minutes must have been literally hell for some people.
I recently lost my father due to COVID and he was sort of dangling between life and death for a month (he was in coma).
I know the feeling. it's like........ you want to prepare for lose, but at the same time you're ready to go to war with God to save that person's life.
So sorry for your loss. Imposssible to know unless you've been there, of course, but you describe it so well I get a good impression of how it must have felt like
Ethan is a damn treasure
lovely to see Ethan here, I've never seen him do a UK talk show before - although if he's done Jonathan Ross or Alan Carr or whoever in the past then I'm sorry for my lack of research
meanwhile this page says his co-star died on stage, while the BBC page says _he_ died on stage
The play in question was the Coast of Utopia if anyone is interested in looking for it
Best host ever!! Fun for the watchers and for the actors
An amazing true story, with a happy ending. Wow! Thanks. Great story. . .
Ethan Hawke is a criminally underrated actor
I love how Toni Collette was in Knives Out, and Ethan Hawke is in the Knives Out sequel, "Glass Onion"
Ethan Hawke is an amazing actor, great story 👍
John Richard Easton was a Canadian actor, best known for his portrayal of Brian Hammond in the 1970s BBC serial The Brothers. Wikipedia
Born: March 22, 1933, Montreal, Canada
Died: December 2, 2019, Manhattan, New York, United States
Who else is stuck in the never ending loop of The Graham Norton show 👀
Me :)
Yup. IT ME
Sadly he actually passed in December 2019, Rest In Peace Richard Easton
What a nice man Ethan is, not at all like a movie star, that was great story with a happy ending
I need a movie with Ethan Hawke and Toni Collette.
Toni Collete is 🔥 🔥 🔥
Shubham Goel Cringe
Shubham Goel wait for Hereditary 😅 and Velvet Buzzsaw. Gonna be amazing.
Too loud for me, so I'll pass. 😉
Watched Hereditary last night. Awesome! I told my husband that she is so pretty in my opinion.
@TheBdog0707 I agree 100%!!
1:30 - 1:33 The first time you experience something .vs. the story you tell a hundredth time at a party
11 minutes dead and brains still functions. /bow
Probably because they kept the blood moving with cpr before the EMTs could shock his heart to beat again.
They were doing CPR from the start, that's how.
@@dianedenham5259 video recommend a few years later, and I see my comment. xD Now having more knowledge on CPR I understand how. The latest research showed that only chest compressions are enough.
Kudos to the guy doing the CPR!
Thanks for posting.
Awww he is so amazing 😉 wonderful
So random. I just left my cpr class earlier today. Chest compressions are so important.
Aidan Turner appreciation comment 🖤
Toni Collete is such a good actress, i had no idea she was Australian until i watched this
I think he wrote that into one of his novels. Well done!
Ethan Hawke and Aidan Turner on the same show, thank you sir!
Why wasn't Ethan on this show more? It's perfect for his personality
Thanks so much for all your love and support and I would love to know you all, feel free to message me on hangout

@@ethanhawke2972 uh huh
The dangers of method acting, kids.
Off topic, Little Miss Sunshine is one of my favorite movies I've ever watched
That takes "The Greatest Show on Earth" to a new level, bb. O.O
The show must go on.
„Excuse me.“ ...ohmy 🤣
The show must go on 🤣
Just when you think you've seen it all... 😵
I like how on this comment thread there's a comment mentioning Richard is alive at 85 (2 years ago) and then one just below it saying he died (7 months ago) on a video about how he died for 11 minutes.
Actually Richard is living on my couch
He killed it on stage.
The actor, Richard Easton, went on to live another 13 years and died at age 86.
That fellow that died and was brought back ,the ultimate show never top that one !Haha ha ha ha ha ha
Yep that's a rap ,no matter how good you are, you'll never top dying mid production and being revived! Lol career peak!
I adore Toni
Legends
Toni Collette, is great in "The Efficiency Expert" (1992) --a lovely little Aussie film with Anthony Hopkins and very young Russell Crowe and Ben Mendelsohn :) It is difficult to find, but so good! Cheers from Canada
He’s showing that they restarted his heart with a defibrillator... 🤨... Defibrillators do NOT restart a stopped heart, they are actually used to fix irregular heartbeats but you can only start someones heart by doing CPR...
I almost mistook Toni Colette for Kylie Minogue
How? She is a full foot taller!
These kind of situation reminds me of Constantine played by Keanu Reeves where the character died for 3 mins and was thrown in hell which felt like 3,000 years then came back to life.
Did any one ever see the film Explorers he did, with River Phoenix, Wolfgang Muller.
My dad went to school with Ethan hawke have the yearbook and everything
"Not That Night".....Hilarious
... And this, kids, is how you properly use the word 'literally': It means that something, in fact, _happened._
I randomly watched this video today and googled Richard Easton. Turns out he died 2 (!) days ago, at age 86.
AFNacapella I always do! But I reckon you are probably right.
Richard Easton passed away 2nd December 2019.
This hapoened during The Coast of Utopia, an grest political play about 19th century Russian revolutionary movement and Ethan Hawke was playing the father of anarchism, Mikhail Bakunin
For those wondering, the theater in which this took place is "in the round," with the stage jutting into the audience. So that's why they couldn't just lower the curtain- there is none.
Somebody tried to tell Richard Easton to break a leg before he goes out on stage, he replied with "I can top that".
I don't think I've ever heard Toni's real accent before! It was so weird, at first I saw her and thought, "ah yes, Toni Collette, that fine actor we all know and love", and then when she spoke, I was sure it was someone else!
All I see is Aidan Turner sitting next to Ethan 😂😍
The lady is a really great listener. :D
Talk about Dinner and a Show!
Ethan is AMAZING
"Not that night!"😂
I said break a leg, Richard, not have a heart attack.
Out of the movies I seen with Ethan, for some reason, the small part he played in Valerian is the one I think about. Lol.
The lady in the pink dress, is she the mother from the movie "sixth sense" ?
Tracey Mcclatchey yes
Jchathe thanks, thought she was,, i dont watch a lot of movies and i was wondering what movie i saw her in lol shes aged well 😍
Her name is Toni Collette and she's been in "About a Boy," where she also plays the mom of an out of place boy. But her earlier career is less typecast and very good.
You're terrible, Muriel!
sebeckley never seen that movie, but just looked it up.. cant stand hugh grant 😂
Is that Mo Salah near him?
Nithin Harish nope that’s aiden turner
It was supposed to be one of those RUclips comment jokes. Fail I guess :-)
Nithin Harish 😹OH LOOL
Nice joke, wrong audience, i guess. :D It's all cool due.
Nah he's running down the wing.
That guy is 85 now and still kickin'
Holy Shitzle.. that would've been scary.
Toni always dress amazingly I find! Love the dress 👌🏼
Great story.
Wikipedia says Richard Easton is still alive!
Chuck Franklin But he was clinically dead for 11 minutes.
"...so can I have the money?"
Who else is stuck in the never ending loop of The Graham Norton show 👀
- 2023
So he literally didn't die on stage. Headline writer.
WOW!!
Anyone remember watching Tommy "just like that!" Copper pass?
am I to believe these actors don't know what story hes going to bring up
There are few better story tellers.
Ethan Hawke is the real deal.
