Cute! I sometimes tear at the middle inverted variation cause I think of an empty playground set longing for a child to use it in a destroyed bombed out city.
@@gronkee540And that's the beauty of music, guys. Music is open to interpretation to different people. Different people see different things, and we can take comfort in that. That's why its universal. Its abstract and ambiguous.
@@gronkee540 i think of a beautiful scene where everything is peaceful then something bad happens in the middle slow part, when the altos go down in a chromatic. its so beautiful it just gives me chills, like major ones
I was wondering what happened to the original. I tried searching it up about a month or so back and I was a little disappointed to see it gone after all those years of memories I had with that particular recording. Thanks for reuploading this!
Easily one of the composer's best works, and maybe the best recording of this piece I've heard. This is just drenched in emotion. But man, his stuff is not easy to get through.
brooooooooo, this song is probably my fav part of any song. i love the main slow part in the middle of the song. the low alto part is so good, and the trumpet part is amazing. AND ESPECIALLY AFTER THE SECOND PART OF THE TRUMPET SOLO. i also love the third solo part, i love the flute and alto. and then when the altos and trumpets come in, its just so fucking good. im not even glazing this shit. i mean that harmony between every instrument is so good. the bass is also super good in this song. Not to mention the flutes omg they have such a good part too. same with the clarinets. i know im ranting about this song but omfg i love it so much. 100000000/10 best song ive ever heard and played in my band.
When you can tell apart a particular recording by whether its piccolos give you tinnitus, you're a band nerd

Dude, thank you so much for reuploading this. This is still my hands-down my favorite recording of this piece.
I still can't listen to the final variation without getting tears in my eyes.

IT'S BACK, YES THANK YOU!!!
I played this 12 yrs ago in concert band in high school ❤
It's such a beautiful piece. I play clarinet, and getting to play with my section in the statement of the theme is an experience I'll never forget.
Omg me too!!!! My junior year! I’ll never forget! Iowa City High School C/O of 2014
@@briannagore9796 im a freshman alto, and omg this song is so beautiful
I played this piece in high school my junior year. To say it was tricky on 2nd clarinet is BEYOND an understatement. 😅
oh fr bro. the amount of support you need for the first part of the song is wild.
thank you for uploading this again!! i use to listen to this all the time until it was taken down. i was quite sad
whyd it get taken down lol, this is one of the best recordings of it
entire channel was deleted
@@grandperformer57 oh damn, thatll do it
Oswego NY All County 2017, I miss you guys so much.
Best version I heard
For me
1:38 M. 38 vivace P5 (40 measures)
4:12 M. 116 Allegro P16 in 4 for 6/8 (60 in 4)
4:58 M. 166 P22 until the Sostenuto in 2 (7 bars)
I miss concert band land 😢
I don't. They tried to change their channel to a bitcoin channel and then lost a ton of subs then got copyrighted
@@ineedakitkat6628 oh… that’s not very smart lol but I still miss practicing with the recording, this was the best one for highschool band last year!
@@joelfred2900 IKR! I played with it too!
Yeah, big shame what happened but that's how it is in this scene where copyright holders refuse to make their recordings readily accessible
What was the name of the channel that had uploaded this before?
