I learned a long time ago, to keep a door key in my pocket..
....Many years ago was the last time I locked myself out of my truck...since then I have been carrying two identical set of keys, one in each pants pocket...even moreso since the manufacturers invented the $200 push button door key.....Simple solution unless you have good hearted Mr. Laramore coming along behind you. He is a good man....and this is a great show..
As a “sometimes practicing” locksmith! It is very gratifying job..
I learned a long time ago to carry a spare key in my coin purse or wallet. Ignition keys are ridiculously expensive now but you can get one that just opens the door for a reasonable price. You should have had him make you a spare key for your door lock.

A few minutes and a few bucks at the hardware store getting extra keys cut can save lots of time and money in the end.
except for those you have to go to a dealer for. they are key fobs with push start. and require programming.

Funny how white duct tape covers the entry pad on the door handle, all he has to do is memorize the keyless entry code or put it in his cellphone.
