As a beginner I was pretty confused by the whole “drop C tuning” thing for a good solid half hour but once I got it down your guide was super easy to follow, loved the energy too, it makes the lesson so much more engaging rather than monotone instructions like so many other guitar lessons
@@tsaranko i got an app called guitar tuner on my phone and it works well with no need to pay anything !! Drop C is basically the name of the chord you're gonna tune your strings to :)

I’ve seen many times the Fingertip needs to touch the string above to mute it then seen it not done many times ! Confusing !!! How do I know when to and when not to ? Primarily solos and stuff ! Thanks
Great question! Unfortunately, as you probably suspected, there is not one clean-cut answer… In general, the tip of the finger rarely if ever actually NEEDS to touch and mute the string above, but if you don’t mute it then you have to be extra careful not to strum the unwanted string. For soloing and melodies, it is really not mandatory at all, it’s more like insurance to make sure that you don’t accidentally play an unwanted open string. Does that help at all?

Deftones have always had a really cool aggressive distortion. I will look into it a bit for you to see what pedals and stuff they use, and see what I can do with EQ!

Can I play with normal standard tuning
Not really. Drop D works pretty well, but without tuning all the way down it doesn’t quite sound like Deftones
