You too can convert your broken cb radio into a P25 trunking scanner

I've been building a self-contained police scanner for the car out of a raspberry pi running op25. I was going to try to 3d print a custom enclosure but I had this old broken cobra CB lying around and decided to try and use that instead. The 2 buttons on the front are wired to pins on the pi, one does the Hold function and one starts a clean shutdown of the pi. The power/volume pot is hooked to the 5v usb power and a PAM8403 mini amplifier which is hooked up to the original speaker in the CB. The screen is a PiOLED made by Adafruit. This project is far from complete but it's good enough to go in the car for a test drive! The entire idea for this came from ‪@SignalsEverywhere‬.

Some people have to much time on there hands. The thing is the only people that would be knowledgeable enough to do such a conversion are the same ones that call bullbutter on your mod. There’s a minute thirteen I won’t get back.

@@hollygorock you need to do a video how you did all that because it's a great way to revive old CB radios by replacing the guts in them so yeah you should show a video how that's done

@@414RadioTech more than likely , he only used the case of the CB to hold other electronics , hence that is why he gave no details .
