"That's not a trick question, that's a lie" lol best comment of the show
Best Movie Fight moment was when drunk Ken pulled Brad Pitt's age and said "he can turn any group of women into a water slide"
Irene totally agree!!!
To my dying days I'll remember Dan's face when they confirmed he'd gotten the age right.
Irene when he described how he would eat his body like a peace of white chocolate
Totally agree as well! Can't wait for more Ken in the Drunk Fights championship! That is going to be amazing!
You’re 100% right
Worst DeNiro performance?
Is not Nightfalls I'll tell you that, what a classic.
And the Al Pacino scenes were fantastic!!!
Your God Wilfred ahhhh nightfalls, haven't seen it for a while but one of my favorites
Probably one of the best movies of all time. What a beautiful film!
Your God Wilfred I love that this reference kinda alienates any newcomers that don't know about Kristian's "Nightfalls". Makes me feel like In part of something.
:)
Joe Starr's trolling made me laugh. Andy's 'done' reaction was priceless.
The trolling was great. I felt bad for Joe last week, was nice to see him get some subtle revenge.
I love how fast Coy speaks lol you can see it in his face before he starts talking that he's planning his words so carefully
Funny how Hal's argument about Catwoman being empowering towards women against cosmetics companies is a joke in the context of the fight, but nowadays is a legitimate argument to defend terrible movies.
Joe Starr is literally the cutest human being he always looks so happy
Saucy Mcfoodlefist oh Jesus kill me now
Joe Pls, you are fooling nobody with that account
In the fight about worst prequel, Hal had the perfect argument THAT HE NEVER USED. X-Men origins wolverine was so bad that they completely wrote it out of the continuity. The prequels may be bad but they're still part of the official canon of their franchise.
Do you mean Days of Future Past erased it or did the writers actually disavow it?
@@jaycievictory8461 And Deadpool went back in time and shot himself just to make sure it REALLY never happened.
This really is the best crew, feels real refreshing :)
Barry Allen tru af
There's no best crew in my opinion. Sometimes I like some Roger Barr intensity, Alicia Malone presumptuousness, Nick Mundy weirdery/craziness, Max Landis script-by-mind, etc. It really depends on the mood I'm in.
Swap Hal for Spencer. Coy is awesome, Hal just yells and is annoying as fuck.
i like Hal, but not 100 minutes of him
2 fights in, disregard my last comment
The trick question part was freakin' hilarious! I was laughing my ass off watching the horror in their faces when they realized they would have to defend the WORST comic book movies. Moments like these are why I love Movie Fights
Im a simple man; I see Dan on Movie Fights, I press Like
I know there is Dan hate out there but he's my fav. Not because he wins but he always has good arguments even when I disagree.
David same here
Michael Perez Replace Dan with Max Landis for me.
Him coy and spencer are my favorites, spencer is probably my favorite because he is so funny
I see Dan and I assume he'll win
Joe still pissed bout the Saving Private Ryan situation.
Hal not knowing what was going on with that moment was almost as good as Joe trolling Andy. What a great start to the episode.
At the very start when they introduced Joe. Joe went into that whole spiel about dogs (a reference to the talking dog controversy of the last episode), Andy responded with, "Are you going to do this the entire episode?" and Hal was sitting there going, "I feel like I missed something. Is this episode sponsored by the ASPCA?"
I don't blame Joe, he should be mad. It's no coincidence that he was on this very next episode. I'm sure Andy felt bad about last week in retrospect, at least I hope he did. What they did was total BS last week. Joe trolling him at the beginning was hilarious, and well deserved. It was pretty funny seeing Hal totally clueless though, lol.
He has every right to be, but I think he just played it up for the humor.
Varen I like how he kept slipping the word veteran in throughout the episode , lmao
Batman & Robin is so bad that no one even mentioned it. As it should be.
Jordan Tate Batman and Robin is a guilty pleasure kind of movie it's so bad that it's good.
AnaheimDucks93 you animal!!!
I kind of love Batman & Robin. It works on so many levels that it transcends awful to go straight to amazing. Half the time I'm laughing with it, half the time I'm laughing at it, but I'm always entertained.
Batman and Robin has some redeeming qualities so its easy to fight against
That movie is in such a weird state though... It is so bad it's good kind of. It's so cheesy and bad that you can watch it, and laugh at how bad it is.
1:02:25 Coy's face says it all: *Mother of God, what have I done?*
next trick question should be "best star wars movie" then changed it to "the worst star wars movie"
great idea
I would love to see the one who has to argue for Empire because that is a perfect film
ENOUGH talking about fucking star wars already
here's a challange
have one show with no comic book movies and no star wars whatsoever.
"Luke is the OG whiny bitch" GG Empire.
57:58 And this is why Hal Rudnick is one of my favorite fighters.
Also, someone please make a GIF of Hal Rudnick at 1:02:24
Hal Rudnick himself is a walking, talking GIF. And that is why we love him.
You're not having Stuckmann on the show even though he's in town? That's a missed opportunity.
59254356 Remember this was filmed on Thursday he was doing all that stuff with Schmoes/Collider
What a shame
He's really not been that good on the show in the past, always comes across as pretentious and petulant
To quote Andy's Twitter:
"Chris is always welcome on any show he wants to be on. #royalty"
I guess he's just not that into Movie Fights.
Yup, I thought Chris' appearances on the show were actually very enjoyable, and refreshing since he's actually knowledgeable about cinematography and talks about it.
Superman IV is the best because without that movie I wouldn't be alive. Nuclear Man Mark Pillow introduced my dad to my mom. So without that movie I wouldn't be alive!
Best Movie facial hair?Kurt Russell-The Thing,he looked like Jim Morrison!:)
That works for me,too,He was my fave part of that flick, the only good gut, didn't like his character going out the way he did:(
And I was going to say Kurt Rusell in Tombstone. He really is the facial hair star.
Kurt Russell is the obvious winner here!!God bless him *Always Be Well,And grow a new beard,Kurt:)
Ryan Gettig I was thinking Kurt in hateful 8 lol
Bset guy in that picture:)I didn't like the other characters:(
I'm really liking Coy, hope he stays a regular. He gets in a lot of information in a short time span. (plus he's kinda cute)
And the gun show. Woot woot!
After a year of people hating on BvS, It's refreshing to see BvS not being called "worst comic book movie ever"
Ben Okazaki I feel like the people that say that started watching comic book movies in 2008
Mr Luis Yeah really. BvS is Oscar worthy compared to films like Catwoman.
Ben Okazaki did people honestly expect Snyder to make a lighthearted and fun movie?
BVS probably had the best opening scene from all of the comic book movies
It still sucks but it's not even close to being the worst comic book film.
Seneca Crane from THE HUNGER GAMES had the best facial hair. Tony Stark's was good but Seneca's was better.
Brennan Palm LMAO
Noooo way I thought the exact same thing! As soon as Coy said Tony Stark, I remember Seneca. Such an awesome style
still mad because of the last fight with joe. that was so ridiculous how u disqualified him...
Just because there was a writer strike doesn't make the movie any less bad. The question isn't which movie is worst for no reason or which movie SHOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD, it's just which one is worst. Writer strikes dont make a movie less bad or somehow less deserving of being called "bad". Just because there is a logical explanation for it being bad doesn't mean it isn't bad. Dan's argument did not compute as Hal put it.
A V in all fairness, if we don’t set the boundary for what qualifies as a contender, then a lot of other criteria can be removed.. low budget.. no a list stars.... not a school project. Not living up to the full criteria of what makes a movie a movie is somewhat disqualifying. You need an equal playing ground to compare anything, because there is always something out there that is worse if we don’t draw a line.
Hal should have asked them to say something bad about their movie and then noted how their movie was good in spite of that negative aspect. What a weak argument. Hal was robbed.
Goota love that trick question. Seeing them lie trough their teeth was awsome MUAHAHAHA. That's the evilest thing i could imagine, and i love it :D :D
I was really impressed by Dan, though. He *didn't* lie, which is why he just talked about the movie's message and themes. Near the end of the fight he pointed out that he hadn't said anything he didn't actually believe. That should have earned him the point, IMO: watching people make claims that are just obviously untrue is fun at first, but it destroys any integrity that movie fights might have.
'We're introducing a new segment called the 'Trick Question.'
'That's not a trick question it's a lie.'
'That's a betrayal is what that is.'
Great show this week guys.
Hal seems so mad that Andy is giving Dan the point lol. I'm wit u Hal.
1:28:29 when Joe said 'he's a veteran' after Andy, I lost my shit. Trolling Andy whilst he's trolling Dan. So, so good. Give this man a medal.
I thought Coy was the clear winner but Andy give them 10 more seconds, probably because he knew coy had it.
John Castiel I was thinking the same thing :/ coy is an awesome fighter and he did deserve that point
John Castiel exactly, plus we all know coy should have won the first 2 fights,he was wronged
Yup.
To me it was even.
They try so hard to make sure Dan keeps the belt it's gross
Coy's arguments made me want to watch Fan4stic. Damn.
Catwoman is the most boring Comicbook movie I seen in my life
Darth Kanye West At least it had Halle Berry in leather...
KNR with almost no leather even on her
KNR then you'll probably enjoy the "sequel", Suicide Squad.
That basketball scene, though.
Darth Kanye West captain America was boring as fuck
i swear.. it's been quite a while since a fight was so natural and interesting. we should have a lot more blind fights with questions as deep as the ones in this fight.
Taxi Driver is the best Scorsese movie
Michael Anthony That movie was almost entirely about a cab driver, in his cab, and we were invested from beginning to end. It's definitely my favourite Scorsese film.
Michael Anthony
I almost tore my hair out when no one mentioned Taxi Driver, which is far and away Scorsese's best film. It's neck and neck with A Clockwork Orange as the greatest character study ever made.
The only one that comes close is Raging Bull.
Michael Anthony it's my second favorite Scorsese and film of all time!
I miss this show so much!
Freaking LOL. Trick Question segment was the funnest to watch.
When I heard the question "Best Scorsese film?" my first thought was "too bad no one is going to pick The Departed." Then Coy started talking.
3 of my favourite fighters. Already know this is going to be a great fight!
Really hyped for some of these topics too! Scorsese is one of my favourite directors and I'm super exited to see what these guys choose because unlike some other directors his best work is really up for debate.
The trick question segment reminded me of a game my friends invented called movie court. In it, someone gives you the name of a terrible movie and you have to defend it, explaining how it's great. It's especially fun when you get a movie you personally hate. I had a friend who hates Man of Steel so much that they couldn't find a single good thing to say about it.
The Departed is so overrated since it's a Hollywood remake, nothing fascinating about the film is original
YOLOFTW2017 well they has not won any oscars aren't they? Scorecse basically won a oscar with a remake
+GreenC In my view that makes it one of the best remakes in film.
I personally think the remake surpasses the original, in execution alone. Also the idea to combine the love interests of both characters into one person in the remake was an excellent decision, and resulted in some unique character development.

to answer dan's question about dragon ball evolution counting. yes it would. manga are essentially graphic novels, it was just as fair game as watchmen
to be fair, its an american based show. they rarely even acknowledge anything Japanese.
Kurt Russel's facial hair in Hateful 8 is glorious.
Can we get a battle with Dan, Coy & Spencer with Alicia judging? (Alicia/Spencer swapped would be cool too).
hal is so entertainingly bad at movie fights
OMG YES DRUNK KEN! the best moment in movie fights history, hope we get to see something like that again
You are witnessing 3 Iconic contenders at the Height of their powers!
1) Gone 2)With 3)The 4)Wind
1) To 2)kill 3)a 4)mockingbird
1) 2001 2)a 3)space 4)odyssey
1) Singin 2)in 3)the 4)rain
1)the 2)umbrellas 3)of 4)cherboug
I felt Coy actually had the stronger argument for why Captain America: Civil War was better than The Godfather Part 2. Dan actually just stated opinions (heavily critically supported opinions but opinions nonetheless) about The Godfather Part 2 being one of the best films ever made and that it was incredibly well structured and paced. Dan didn't provide any specific scenes or elements which support these claims and merely talked about the film's strong themes and parallels. Coy on the other hand argued that Civil War made you care to some extent about 10 different characters and had great action and drama was well paced and had great heart. Dan also made a false claim that anybody can relate to The Godfather Part 2. If you haven't seen The Godfather, then you do not get a full picture of how Robert DeNiro's Vito transforms and becomes the Marlon Brando's Vito. Coy also pulled out the enjoyment factor saying that the pacing of The Godfather Part 2 does not allow it to be as re-watchable as Civil War which is kind of true factoring in Godfather's length being over 3 hours (I think 200 minutes) and Civil War being paced better with a shorter run time of a little over 2 hours. Not saying I think Civil War is the better movie but I think Coy made the stronger argument.
Best movie with four words in the title:
I was screaming for Coy to pick To Kill a Mockingbird.
Great questions and awesome fighters. Holy shit, Movie Fights is truly back.
When the 5th round starts Dan & Hal look like they're about to explode! lmfao
Please bring back Kevin Smith when you can. He's my favorite guest on movie Fights!
***** Mate I don't think you know who Kevin Smith is... Google it next time before you make an idiot out of yourself
He's great on his Fatman on Batman podcast. Just watch those instead.
Karl Muster I watch it regularly, but I love it when he's on movie fights. Kevin Smith is easily the nicest person on it.
And Elijah Wood!!
hell yeah, he was awesome
Definitely one of the best Movie Fights episodes yet. A perfect mix of heated competition and laugh-out-loud humor. It never went too crazy to the point of being a farce. I can't believe Hal kept a straight face on some of the things he said. It all builds up to an intense speed round showdown that's one for the ages.
When it comes to Fant4stic, there ain't no tricks, just shit.
Again, King of Comment Sections
King of Wakanda lol
King of Wakanda
(sarcasm) Fant4stic is a great movie. People just aren't smart enough to understand the movie and are biased.
King of Wakanda I actually thought of Fant4stic, even though that name is easily the wrong adjective, and was actually thinking of reasons
It was raped by studio, so basically, you can't count it as intentionally shitty.
This has been my favorite movie fight! Coy, Hal and Dan are FANTASTIC! And that speed round was AWESOME!
I want a blind fight between Coy Jandreu, Dan Murrell, and Max Landis; Screen Junkies, plz!
I really really like Coy, I'm happy every time he's on the show. Love you Coy!
coy actually made me forget my reservation about fan4stic
Man Hal is really funny in his comic book movie fight. I lol'ed really hard.
when you realize that Hal breathes between every sentence (you'll never not hear it again)
The trick question makes this the greatest Movie Fight ever. You guys need to do this more often.
I thought this was a great episode of Movie Fights. Can't wait for the Star Wars fight.
R-Rated Movie Fights + Drunk Movie Fights + Trick Question = Comedy Gold
Goodfellas is my favorite Scorsese movie but Taxi Driver is his best.
Hooray for Hal! Long time, no see! And bringing the fights today! Nicely done!
Also, I knew Coy could talk fast, but holy shiz! Those speed rounds were out of control! Yet somehow Dan didn't seem too intimidated...
Trick Question was interesting - has the potential to make for some hilarious fights (i.e. bring back "Worst (aka best) M. Night Shyamalan movie"!)
Looking forward to the top 100 moments - hope I see Elijah Wood screaming incredulously "It's a CHRISTMAS MOVIE?!" , lol.
Best movie facial hair:
Chewbacca
Also Coy should work at the auctions...
I love that trick question round... it was amazing.. really tested their argumentative abilities
Have Movie Fights ever covered the best or worst fights in movies?
For me Roddy Piper/Keith David smack around in They Live might qualify for both.
Tim O'callaghan they've done the best movie fight scene before.
57:57
- Jiminy Cricket needs the help of the magic of Tinker Bell, he can't even pull it off by himself!
- First of all, Tinker Bell is in Peter Pan...
- *wHAT*
Lol I love Hal
big ups to hal for getting jumped on every round and still taking them on with valid points!!
The worst comic book movie that I had witnesses so far is the 1966, 1982 and 2003 film adaptations of a comic called Modesty Blaise.
In 1966, a movie entitied Modesty Blaise made in the United Kingdom starring Italian actress named Monica Vitti, Dirk Bogarde, Terence Stamp, Rosella Falk, Harry Andrews. It was released by TCF in mid-August 1966. During behind the scenes, Vitti refused to change her hair color for the role, IMDb told me that it was set in the Italian Mediterranean, which is incorrect as it was mostly filmed in London, England. If I remember correctly, Joseph Losey and Joseph Janni were the director and the producer of the 1966 film version.
In 1982, A unsuccessful TV pilot was made for a TV show entitied Modesty Blaise starring Ann Turkel as Modesty and Keene Curtis as Tarrant. It was distributed by Paramount TV and was broadcast on ABC-TV.
In 2003, a movie entitled instead of Modesty Blaise, My Name Is Modesty starring Australian actress Alexandra Staden as Modesty. It never had a theatrical release. It went instead on direct-to-video by Miramax.
I never liked Modesty Blaise, I hadn't read the comics from Donnell or watch the 1982 TV movie.
The 1966 and 2003 were the worst adaptations of all time.
Had to agree with Hal on worst movie. Didn't mind Wolverine until the third act, and liked parts of Phantom Menace, but my God, Attack of the Clones is just terrible.
Coy is the fastest mouth of Movie Fights, hehe. Nice Fight! Hal with catwoman was awesome, also Coy!
Best movie facial hair-Seneca Crane from The Hunger Games
I love movie fights, and I've gotta say, the swerve on question five, the Trick Question segment was something that I've been hoping to see since the beginning and it did not disappoint in the slightest.
Hal Rudnick's "Catwoman" pitch was iconic!
We need a pitching only episode of movie fights with Max Landis, Kevin Smith, and Joe (if they can somehow convince him to come back) with Spencer as the judge. PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!
Manga is the name for Japanese comic books so yes, it counts
I was about to say that.
KageMaxwell Well it was good they didn't count it because then the guy would have to defend db evolution, which if I had to do that, it would be the worst nightmare for me
That's a good point haha
lol I agree but if Dan had been allowed that choice he would have definitely been fucked
+Isaiah Delos Reyes 100%
The fight about the worst comic book movie reeked of sarcasm so much, I could smell it through my computer screen.
So sick of Andy giving Dan points he doesn't deserve.
Actual fights with points instead of just screams? Wow
That trick question was awesome!!!! XD
The first MovieFights in a long time I watched in it's entirety without skipping anything. Great fighters, great questions, great moments. Well played, ScreenJunkies.
Martin Scorsese best movie would have to Taxi Driver!!!! Because he capture really well the Ugly Side of New York Nights The whole thing with the prostitutes and the drug dealers is something that still till this day is happening!!!! That's when you know it's great directing and not only that Robert De Niro won The Oscars for best actor with his great performance!!! also this might be the best study of a character in film that I know that why TRAVIS BICKLE IS SO RELATABLE.....
totally agree, forget De Niro for a second, as a character study of alienation in the world, Travis Bickle is among the best, and Scorseses directing emphasises on the alienation. my number one film too, followed closely by Raging Bull and then Goodfellas
Anser Ahmedi I remember watching this film at the age of 15 and I never felt so immerse in a movie before because I understood the loneliness and being an outsider in a mean streets as Travis and gave me motivation that I'm not the only one with that gets headaches
Chris Dynamo I would argue scorseses films of the last decade haven't quite met the extremely high standard of his earlier films. Taxi driver and raging bull are masterpieces in my eyes. Raging bull character study of breaking a character to its lowest, and taxi drivers examination of alienation at so many levels make them two of the greatest films I've seen. It just seemed every scene in those films had something to say, and every time I see them they speak to me in a different way with all the subtleties I pick up. Excited to see Silence!
I was so surprised no one said Taxi Driver, easily the best imo.
I guess I'm too late on sending this in, but I hope you'll feature the moments when Dan was nerd raging a couple times in the montage. It always makes me laugh seeing him go all nerd rage. :)
I'm glad they made peace with joe star.
Isaac Chavez what happened?
Ace0036 they kicked him off the show last week for taking one of his joke answers too seriously.
It was a work
They didn't exactly kick him off, he left because they didn't want him to fight after the way he presented his answer for the question, but is it really surprising that he's here?
Joe was talking out of his ass, quite literally..
Here's a theme for a fight: Best shark movie with "shark" in the title.
Joe Starr benched for disrespecting the Veterans
nachowarrior1 what happened??
"No one disrespects our veterans"
@kasey He called The Search For Private Ryan a fictional/unrealistic story on a question about replacing a character with a dog.
Last fight Joe made a joke about soldiers, and Andy kicked him out of the fight instantly for "direspecting our veterans"
+Ninja Tweak
Saving Private Ryan _is_ fictional. No operations of that type were attempted. Even in the Sullivan Bros' story, the last brother was just sent home. They _didn't_ risk the lives of 10 other people to save one guy.
Still amazing movie though.
I really liked the "trick question" round. Don't overuse it too much, but definitely use it every once n' awhile :)
Omg JOE STARR!! I'm so glad he came back after last weeks fiasco. We all love Joe (and will eventually forgive Andy)
This was such a good episode and I've never been so excited for the next movie fights!
Sp trick question is the best thing ever right? I dont need you to answer that I already know its that great.
I forgot about Hal's fighting style, the Scorsese fight has me dying!
Superman 4 does have a sequel though, Superman Returns
Hannah Stubbs That isnt a sequel it is a reboot
It's kind of both I guess
Brynjar Reynisson No, Man of Steel is a reboot. Superman Returns continues where Superman IV left off, only with new actors, so pretty much a text book example of a "soft reboot".
Superman Returns disregards Superman 3 & 4.
Hannah Stubbs superman returns is the sequel to superman 2.
In the story, he leaves after the fight with Zod for 5 years to go see the remnants of Krypton for some reason.
Best animal sidekick:. Dory in Finding Nemo. The only one to get her own sequel.
"Movie better on a second viewing"
I would say Inception.
Four words? "There Will Be Blood"!!! That one would be much easier to argue for than civil war
I agree 100% with Dan when it comes to ''Star Wars: Attack of the Clones''
I near wet myself over Hal's argument for Catwoman 😂 Great fight, blind fight and the trick question were such brilliant formats 👏👏
You should've done the top 25 moments and one everyday leading up to Christmas
Nathaneal Nasir Great idea.
This was actually really fun guys. Loved every bit of it. Also loved the Joe and Andy fued, that was really funny.
