Boy, if I measured my enjoyment by number of fish caught, I'd be a pretty sad paddler! Always fun to explore those local lakes, and I have hundreds in my neck of the woods. Great video :)
Gotta love fall paddling, even if you are in a tugboat 😂🤣. Just kidding, I see the draw of those though if you don’t like standing up, it seems a bit of overkill. Would love to see a comparison of fishing kayak vs proper canoe set up like a shorter prospector style canoe equipped with a good seat back. Or, even include a non fishing kayak with fishing set up. I rented the last boat in town for a group paddle one time. Got a 65 pound fishing kayak and eventually just told everyone to go on without me. Couldn’t keep up. Is the lost flexibility worth it? Lots of trade offs to consider.
Ken, I’d love to know your thoughts on the Delta Kayak 12 AR . I’ve been paddling a 2001 model LL Saluda. I’ve been doing a lot more paddling since I retired. I want to go on bigger lakes and paddle for longer periods. I think the Delta AR is going to give me more speed, better tracking and stability than even the new model Saluda. What are your thoughts ?
Good question. I haven’t tried the Delta 12AR, or any Delta kayak, and so I can’t say for sure, but I think you might want to consider a kayak that takes a skirt if you’re going to hit bigger bodies of water. Perhaps something like the Wilderness systems Tsunami, or the FeelFree Aventura. You’ll also get a step up in performance with this type of kayak.
I don't recall seeing the sponsorship deal with Perception. They make great kayaks at an affordable price. However, I'm not sure how we could take your kayak reviews seriously knowing you are sponsored by one of the manufacturers. Perhaps I'm missing something. Not trying to be negative.
Hey Thomas. Kayak companies sponsor my Paddle Tales adventures and tip videos, to see their kayaks used. This is how I afford to create all the content that I create. That being said, I make sure the kayak companies are absolutely clear that they are not sponsoring my gear reviews. My gear reviews have to remain honest and unbiased, otherwise they’re of no value to anyone. Hope that clarifies things.
Brilliant scenery there and great film 👌
Awesome video, Ken! That scenery was absolutely amazing!! 💯💯
Thanks Dan. Love the fall paddling! Where are we going for our next trip??
@@PaddleTV Hmm... We'll have to come up with a good one!
James in a "Catch" ? The world is definitely changing...

You got that right!
Loved this, Corry Lake?

Would love to see some solo canoe reviews.
Have you seen the Swift Cruiser Pack Boat Review? in4adventure.com/swift-cruiser-pack-boat-review/
That is way to slow for me. I've seen the fishing kayaks here and really stable.
Ken, you really need to publish your recipe for baileys and hot water. What's the ratios?
Ha! Honestly, it doesn't take much Baileys to add a lot of flavor. I would say 7:1 hot water to Baileys.
