When I tell y'all I had ten videos I was planning to cram into the last week of December, convinced it was the only way I was going to "start the year off right." lol. So glad I discovered the dialogue around taking a slow start to your year. Taking time to journal, reflect, and plan. Looking at nature and being reminded it's okay if I'm not ready to bloom January first. Nothing blooms year-round. Even going into February next week I still don't think I'm ready to quite hit the ground running with EVERYTHING I have planned. But as I said at the end of the video, my biggest resolution of the year is making more videos like this. The goal is a new long-form RUclips video every Monday (that comes out after our Monday Crochet livestream) every week! We will craft, crochet, vlog, garden, do some home reno projects, hike, travel, thrift, go to ren faires, curl my hair with weird things, and more. My new years resolution is to try new skills, but not to pressure myself so much any more!! I have found that if you pressure yourself enough, you are just going to give up from feeling hopeless. There is a strong difference between pressuring and encouraging. ❤

I set goals for myself instead of resolutions!!! Because I CAN reach goals, but don't always follow through with resolutions!!! It worked last year so doing it again this year!!!

One of my goals is something I am doing woth my brother. We started a mini book club, and every month we pick a new prompt, and therefore a new book. This month I Read Alice in Wonderland for the first time, and now I am reading the Hobbit to start February.

- learn how to knit (it’s hard)

Get healthier
Finish a temp blanket for my granddaughter's first year.
Read more books! (I've already finished the last 3 of an 8 book series that I was reading at the end of last year!)

On principle, I agree. I got sick right after New years, and it messed up my plans for most of January. Also, it's hard to plan fot January in December. Use January to plan the year.

My goal is to read/consume 100 books this year, and exceed my number of crochet projects from last year. I have some other goals too, but those are my main goals. Also to be on your lives, so I’m already doing that! 🌻
I found that I can double up on my goals by listening to audiobooks while I crochet. I know that audiobooks are hotly debated as not “reading”. That’s why I have taken to saying consuming books 😂. I’ve already completed 28 titles this year. I’ve also finished 2 shawls and one queen sized blanket. I’d say I’m well on my way!! 😅
I LOVE listening to audio books while I crochet! Audio books are absolutely reading 💖 WOW 28 books two shawls and a blanket!? Incredible!!!
@@HollyAuna it probably helps that I have a crippling chronic pain disease. I spent a lot of time sitting, so hobbies like this keep me busy and productive ❤️😊.
I donate or gift all of my crochet items. I tried selling them, but people don’t want to pay the cost that makes it worth it. I get a lot of joy from giving, so it makes sense for me. Not to mention, the recipient usually values the items.
My new years resolution is to help out more people.

🌻🌻🌻 I've always felt like things were off having such a rushed "renewal" with the coming of the new year. LOVE that it's becoming the new norm to go back to nature! I had surgery (much needed, so happy!!) at the end of January so am also having to intentionally rest during this season. It's been great so far and I'm actually more excited for this year as a result!
My goals for the year💚
1) get a service dog
2) start content creation
3) stay on top of supporting my fav creators+improve where possible (so please let me know if there's anything more I can do!❤)

My birthday is today, so I’ve always started my resolutions on February first! January is just time for me to recoup and prepare (I also have two children who have birthdays before Christmas, so the end of December is hectic enough for me!).
Omgosh happy happy happy birthday! I know what you mean my birthday is January 3 and I never started resolutions before the 4th 😂 but yes December is always hectic I like this idea of taking the first part of the year to plan then moving into our goals slowly lol
@@HollyAuna I’ve been doing it for years and it’s really refreshing! I think you’ll really enjoy it. It’s kind of like going into a store at night, right after the after work rush. It just feels like you can get things done without everyone else pressuring you. 😅
