Fun fact for each of the 8 X7 Bosses
Wind Crowrang: He used to be a friendly rival to Axl, which is why he is so familiar with him
Tornado Tonion: He's probably the only one of the 8 who actually knows Sigma is behind their corruption, as seen in his pre-fight interaction with X
Splash Warfly: The exact opposite of Wind Crowrang, he hated Axl and saw him as a hunk of junk
Ride Boarski: Ready to fight at the drop of a hat, Boarski HATES being lumped in with common thugs and petty biker gangs, which is why he snaps at Zero when he mentions the Road Attackers
Soldier Stonekong: Only reason he stayed with Red Alert when they turned Maverick was to fight and prove himself, seeing combat as his only purpose
Snipe Anteater: He LOVES playing tricks on his enemy, but the little flying drones he summons can't be destroyed during his battle.
Vanishing Gungaroo: Despite his excellent piloting skills (which is why he has the Ride Armor in his fight), Gungaroo hates being called a kid, especially by Axl
Flame Hyenard: Oh boy Mr. "Burn It Down" himself, but there may be a reason for his crazed pyromania. Unlike the other 7 Red Alert Members, when he contracted the Maverick Virus, Hyenard was put through EXTREME pain, torturing his mind and twisting his logic until his circuts became deep-fried. Hence why he attacked the Maverick Hunters

It actually can be identified with his pre-battle dialogue. Note how he's the only one to say the same thing regardless of who it is (he says these lines to X, Zero, and/or Axl).
*"Ouhhh...OHHH IT HURTS!"* and *"Oh it's YOU who's causing my suffering! If I tear you to pieces, the pain will stop!"*
Hyenard is the only one who lashes out as a solution. The other bosses fight simply because they want to or were told to, but Hyenard does so because he wants to be free of the Maverick Virus, and thinks the Hunters are to blame.
Maybe I was late to comment but in Japanese dubbing, he really sounds like he's in constant pain and is already tired of it, he probably decides to fight X and the team because he thinks that if he beats them it will kill the pain or he will die trying and he won't suffer anymore.

i did and it was only suffering. the last stage is the worse stage in the entire franchise. having to fight red, the boss rush, and sigma in the same stage should be a war crime

A tip for anyone who wants to play this themselves. Max out axl, use the rocket launcher and then win. It destroys everyone. Minibosses, bosses, Sigma. I kid you not it's the best weapon in this game.
