Let us know what you thought of this Western Short! All music was composed by Joel from LA.
Appreciate all the new comments on this video! This was our first time doing a Western so there's a lot to learn from! I never knew anything about Westerns going into this except that I wanted some action. We shall improve and be better, all I can ask for anyone on set and for myself as a Director! Love you all.
.
Liked the twist.Jane Doe was a great twist to the clip.Do more twist. I like surprises.

Absolutely great film, Ryan, and cast and crew and production team. Very excellent in every way. My next video will have a link to this. Thanks also for the credits.
I appreciate that, Tom! The link will be awesome. And yeah, you helped us! I really appreciate your donation in all this!
Yes, you are absolutely right. SQ..
Great homage to the celluloid westerns of old, where Colt Peacemakers never run out of bullets and only the bad guys ever get shot.
Five star film here.👌😎🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Action, comedy, and just a dash of heart: this short has it all! It's only around 15 minutes, but it stays with you *so* much longer!
Thanks man! Thanks for taking BTS photos as well!
Very few get the hats right; you nailed the haberdashery and an indy western WITH HORSES is always a plus.
Sweet as hell...Watching the good guys killing all the bad guys is one of those things I miss from those old westerns. They were so "educational" about moral and ethics. Loved this one!!!
Thank you Felipe! Appreciate it!
Favorite Western EVER! Brings back so many wonderful memories! LOVED being Jane Doe!
Thanks so much for being so amazing in it!
Andrea, you were stunning in this performance, and didn't you win some awards for it too?
@@poppawheelie59 thank you so much!! I did! I won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in two different film festivals! It was such an honor!
Much better than most western shorts

Campy.
Enjoyable.
Well done everyone who helped make this a dream come true!!!
YAY!
Super film and guess what they all had such white teeth back then also. No seriously so much work has gone into making this. absolutely brilliant
Hurray for cowboys! Gentleman outlaws were the first superhero's. This is how the west was won! Slap Leather Amigos!
Except for the fact the Jane and Joe appeared to have 12 shooters instead of 6 shooters (Colt model P), this was pretty good. Well done.
This was so much fun to watch! Thanks for making this and sharing with everyone!!!
Thank you for watching it! I really appreciate it!
Great work! Can’t wait to see what you make next.
Appreciate that, Zach!
(around 12:10) The railing did NOT break! That in itself is cinematic genius! Good Pic!
Co - Director here - But it did snap haha. We had to be super careful!
Very good no great short film enjoyed every minute of it......

This entire film has me hooked! The last scene cutting out was unexpected lol
Haha, when he fell and hit the ground? :D

"My name is Earl (really), but I 'din't do it!"

New subscriber from Featureman. Great job on your film. I watched it twice to look for Tom as an extra.🤠🍉
Thanks so much for watching.
Well done brother!🎥🎬
Thanks so much, David!
Very good production quality
Well done!
Nicely done! We could use a few righteous westerns again!
That was dope!! You never cease to amaze with your skills on and off screen.
Thanks so much! :D
Great. Nuff said. Keep 'em comin' my brilliant friend!
Appreciate it, Erik!
John Doe is quite entertaining and a great production. Nice job everyone.👍👍
Thanks, David!
Great . Humor and gun play.
Well done, thoroughly enjoyed that.
I loved it, very well done. I have subd and want to see more.
Appreciate that, William!
Cleaning towns i love it.
Originsl and very well done. A lot going on in such a short film... and something for everyone. Drama, action, and comedy laced with a healthy dose of irony. And, most importantly for a western, a climactic gunfight to close the film. Oh wait... even more importantly... very entertaining.
Thanks so much. Really we just wanted to be entertaining. We sure aren't perfect when it comes to western since this was my first! Lots to improve but hopefully full of fun!
@@CinematicFanatic When you have fun doing it, it shows. Even more impressive if it was your first go at a western. As a fan of that genre, I'll look forward to seeing more.
@@oldwestguy Thank you. Appreciate it!
This was awesome! What camera did you use? I have always wanted to make films but I can't decide between a DSLR or a mirrorless. Do you have any recommendations for a beginner filmmaker? Thanks for any help you can give me. Greetings from South Carolina and Keep up the awesome work!
Loved it!!
Thanks Grace! You were awesome in it!
Best Western comes to mind, and I don't mean the hotel. That was really well done you guys and gals, from one end to the other. Congratulations and Continued Success to you all. Oh, and I'm honored to be a townsperson, thanks again for having me on set.
Thank you for being on set, Ray. You're always awesome!
Nice movie, thank you & God Bless.
Appreciate it! :)
"... I don't want this goin sideways ... "
Great Movie
Thanks so much, Gayle!
All thinks considered, it was pretty good. Classic spaghetti western, never had to reload.
Oh never. That would take to much screen time ;)
This is fantastic! Great story and wonderful filming. I loved the action.
Thanks Darren!
Pretty neat!! Even got to see my daughter Alyssa Bonilla in a few shots for a split second. Great job!!
Yay! Thanks :)
Came here from Featureman :D
I'm not a huge fan of westerns, but it seemed alright.
Haha, appreciate it. To be honest I'm not either, decided to make one anyway :D
Loved this.............
Fantastic!
Ya gotta admire a town that has a permanent gallows set up. Usually they weren't put up until a legal hanging needed to take place.
Thanks, Brian. They put a ton work in that town!
Fabulous film, miles ahead of these crappy money grab Movies made by Hollywood
Haha. Appreciate it plaxo!
good comedy 👍
Must have been fun making the short.
Very hot but the best!
Wow!that quick😃
Loved it, better than most of the crud Hollyweird puts out. This was fun and like a touch of the Quick and the dead, feeling to it.
Thanks so much. We aren't perfect, but it was fun to pull of a short western in a very short amount of time! :)
John doe's actor sound like he's reading a script. Make sure the actors know what the story is and allow for improv even if that means lots of mistakes, it looks and sounds more authentic that way.
Interesting view point for sure. John Doe's actor was co director and knew the script in and out. Maybe it was his voice trying to do western? Appreciate the comment!
Good critique, and it did sound like I was reading a script when the voiceover happened when he I was explaining things...oh wait...I did read the script there ;)
@@CinematicFanatic I appreciate you reading and replying to my criticisms. Apart from my two criticisms (this comment and the other comment) you did all the other aspects great and I found myself watching the whole thing (which I don't do very often, to be honest). I have subscribed and can't wait to see your next project(s)
@@randomsomeguy156 Totally understand! Criticism is needed for any director! Thanks for being honest. Also, thanks for sticking around and subscribing. I really do thank you!
Simple y buena
"...sure looks like somebody made a hole in that fence..." Ok, Lee Marvin was missin'.....but hey! this great production is sure as Hell burns hot, up there with the best of 'em! A bunch of young critters get together like this and make a film to please all...result?...a lotta meat for Boot Hill!...now, where did I park that six-shooter...?
Haha thanks Firebrand!
This was very funny! .\ /.
thanks 👍
Loved how this turned out! #saloongirl
Thank you so much for being a part of it, Rehanna!
Good fun, nice job!
Thanks so much!
I’m so impressed! Great filmmaking. I can’t wait until we get to work together!
Same here! Appreciate it!
A touch of history:-
Most Saloons did not allow women inside, though some saloons which were more along the line of restaurants, were more family oriented. Some bars only served women from the "back door", so as to keep the gentleman's club atmosphere. This persisted into modern times, with bars being "men only", and a separate section devoted to "ladies and escorts".
Many larger saloons offered entertainment, which could be dancing or singing on stage and these women might also serve as prostitutes, but most prostitution was conducted in "houses of ill repute", & not out of saloons.
Many of the "traditional bar scenes" that we see in movies and TV originate from the cattle drive areas of the southern U.S. in the 1880's to 1900. The cowboy era was short lived (20 or 30 years) and lasted until the railways came through. Then those long cattle drives were replaced by shorter drives to the local railroad station, and the invention of barbed wire pretty much ended the open range cowboy from the west.
I know that a lot of ranchers and cattle farm hands will be offended, but the true cowboy period in U.S. history ended after only a couple of decades, over a hundred and twenty years ago.
Women in old west bars was actually a rarity.
You are mostly correct. Normal women didn't go into "bars" or "saloons". Most bars/saloons didn't didn't allow them. However, wether or not, they had their own whores depended on; 1 where you were. 2 who, if anybody, you were and 3 hire much money you had. If it were a more "civilized" town, it had its own area for the whores and most of those owned or ran "flop houses" or small places to get a drink, play cards and so on. Certain bigger towns and cities, you get all the above in the same place. Food, entertainment, drinks and company for an hour or so or for the night if you had enough money.
Amazing content!
Thank you!
YAY. Go the good guys
That was awesome! Haven’t seen anything good like that since tombstone!
That's awesome. I really appreciate that Annon!
so awesome
Thanks, Mike!
damn this was good
Thanks so much, suppressed!
Nice! 👍🏻👍🏻
11:39 This guy looks like he has never fired a gun in his life.
I'm the guy who played John Doe - and you are not mistaken. I have shot many guns in my life, but a revolver such as that is not one of them. That is how I was told to shoot it and when I look back now, it could have been MUCH better! But, that's how we learn! We see our mistakes, take the criticism given, and do better next time! Appreciate the feedback :)
Amazing cinematography!
Richard could perform better, I'm sure of it! He didn't quite 'sell' John Doe to me.
When Is JANE DOE coming out? :D
HAHA :D
I think John Doe did amazing! He really sold it for me :)
@aura 420 Haha I wish!
Didnt realise there were electronics back in those days - 5 min in and bad man has something modern in his back pocket
Lol blooper
Absolutely great western. How did you get the Finance to do this 15 minute short film. Dang it had to cost several thousand with all that was involved.....Thumps Up👍
Hey! Great question. Long answer short with Indiegogo and an Executive Producer we were able to fund this whole project under $5000 which is crazy! Check out the Behind the Scenes. I think you'd like it!
Cinematic Fanatic I was a Radio Announcer years ago and saw short films by different folks but, this looked like John Ford Stuff. I did voice over for narration and thought some of there was good but you really out did them. Great going
@@TheSassy777 Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! Your words mean a lot!
Nice movie
Thank you!
@@CinematicFanatic you should create some more
@@24glow31 Always creating!
To be an excellent shooter as shown in western movies, a man would have to shoot 100,000 shots with his revolver. then count on the small recoil of the weapon
Ha ha ha ha!.
Good. Very good.
Cooool
Not sure if it's on purpose but everyone looks too clean and tidy for the wild west. More overall dirtiness/dustiness/scruffiness would help make everything look older and more wild western
We tried doing that but it looked really bad! Most of the cowboys were stunt people and knew the exact amount of dirt needed. They rolled around in the dirt a lot! :)
Caleb and I were covered in dirt haha
@@CinematicFanatic haha might have just been my phone then, great work btw
I actually did think the man was John Doe lol 😂
Holy shit this is epic af
Thanks, Saber!
Stupid, but mildly entertaining
Nice video a note on shooting 9 times with a six shooter
