You will join Constellation - the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy - and navigate the vast expanse of space in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game.
    Tell Your story
In Starfield the most important story is the one you tell with your character. Start your journey by customizing your appearance and deciding your Background and Traits. Will you be an experienced explorer, a charming diplomat, a stealthy cyber runner, or something else entirely? The choice is yours. Decide who you will be and what you will become.
    Explore Outer Space
Venture through the stars and explore more than 1000 planets. Navigate bustling cities, explore dangerous bases, and traverse wild landscapes. Meet and recruit a memorable cast of characters, join in the adventures of various factions, and embark on quests across the Settled Systems. A new story or experience is always waiting to be discovered.
Captain the Ship Of Your Dreams
Pilot and command the ship of your dreams. Personalize the look of your ship, modify critical systems including weapons and shields, and assign crew members to provide unique bonuses. In deep space you will engage in high-stakes dogfights, encounter random missions, dock at star stations, and even board and commandeer enemy ships to add to your collection.
    Discover, Collect, Build
Explore planets and discover the fauna, flora, and resources needed to craft everything from medicine and food to equipment and weapons. Build outposts and hire a crew to passively extract materials and establish cargo links to transfer resources between them. Invest these raw materials into research projects to unlock unique crafting recipes.

I always watch these types of videos and generally already know all the things, but I was unaware of most of these, so thanks!
One thing to add: to avoid a scan if you jump in and forgot you had contraband, spooling your drive and panic power managing takes too long. Open your map, which pauses the game, then select another planet in the system. Inspection points are only over the main cities and points where you jump in system. If you fast travel to another planet in the system, it will go to a cutscene immediately after hitting travel and cancel the inspection. No grav jump needed.
Helps if you're stingy like me and only roll around with 1 power for your grav drive lol I have to power my 8 weapon hard points ya know?

I kinda wish for the possibility to return contraband loot to a faction without being arrested
For example: you're a ranger for free star and when being caught by planet scanners, it would be cool to add a dialogue like "found contraband on patrol, I'm sending you the package"

A tip I just figured out last night that I haven’t heard anyone talk about: if your ship is full and you want to offload everything go into Jemisens space area and then get up out of the cockpit, grab everything you can even if you are massively over encumbered, then open up the planet map and select the lodge. It will ignore your encumbrance and let you spawn in front of the lodge like normal, at which point you only have a short distance to the infinite storage chest in your room at the lodge. Super helpful if you haven’t upgraded your cargo capacity much

There are also storage options down in the crafting area, since there are more of them it can help organise things and reduce lag if you spread stuff out. It's unclear if they reset but I don't recall seeing any posts about them doing so without some serious cell reset bugs.

So whenever I wanna craft or do some research, I’ve gathered up all my resources from the room into my inventory, lugged all 10tons of it down to the basement, then when I was finished crafting/researching, lugged it back up the stairs to the room & put it all back into the safe again. For access to ship storage, you don't need to go to the cockpit or access that cargo computer just to put stuff in or take it out. Anywhere on this ship, you can access your own inventory, then there is a button depending on platform you're playing on to access ship cargo at the bottom of the screen. Simply press that button to access the ships cargo. Switching back to player inventory and clicking on things stores whatever it is into the cargo hold.

On PC hit H key then F key to open Ships Cargo. Works anytime you're NEAR your ship (150 meters?). DON'T forget to loot the loose stuff (on tables, bunks etc) on the ship BEFORE you SELL it as that stuff does NOT transfer! Also DON'T forget the Captains Locker - it does NOT link to the Cargo area and does NOT transfer to another ship. Cargo Locker transfers but might grab it while you're there just in case. BTW - Entering Build Mode and scrapping all the parts yields the SAME money as selling. 😉 Don't loot before registering or it's all flagged as STOLEN!

For contraband, instead of jumping to another system you can just land on a random spot on a planet. It's instant. Then drop the contraband on the ground, take off, let them scan you, then land in the same spot and pick your items back up. They won't scan you again until you jump to another star system. For the ship selling, once you have sat in the "liberated" ship captains seat, stand up, then on PC hit H to view your ships, as long as the new ship is on that list, you can just fly your ship to a space port to register and sell the new ship, you don't have to fly the new ship down to the surface.

As an additional tip regarding ships, you can just register them when you're out and about. Still costs money, but you don't have to fly it to a port just to register it with the port authority. After you commandeer a ship, go to your Tab menu and click the ship menu. There is an option to register the ship from there. I paid 10k, for a 97k ship. Which is not this insane 80% fee I keep hearing about. This may be dependent on the ship and it's overall value, but try it and see if it's cheaper. The ship I just did this with was an Ecliptic Stiletto.

    • @kk4pe

it's ~80% of the sell price, not the 97k buy price. I think that ship sells for like 14-15k. You can upgrade the skill under the social tree that increases credits from sold items and decreases bought items, which includes registration I believe.

A couple of tips, you don’t need to favorite the Cutter, your character will automatically switch to it when you’re in scan mode and switch back to your previous weapon when you exit scan mode.
When you fight pirates in space and kill them look for any other ships remaining in the area. If you find any hail them and they’ll probably thank you for dealing with the pirates and give you various reward options. Getting ship parts is one of those options and highly recommended but whatever you do don’t choose to “have salvage rights”. You can salvage the remains of the pirate ships either way so if you choose that option you’re losing the other rewards.

A little tip about your opening clip, if you hear a ship land near you, rush past any guards and go directly onboard to capture it. If it get into a firefight with the guards it will always take off.
Another one you didn't mention is that if you open the spacesuit section of your inventory, you'll get the option to hide your suit when it's not needed. You're still wearing it and getting it's damage protection but it's hidden so you look like you're in your street clothing.
And, if you want to travel long distances with your boost pack, look for a skip pack. Basic are low thrust short duration, boost are high thrust short duration, skip is low thrust long duration, and balanced it medium thrust medium duration. On a low gravity world, a skip pack will keep you in the air the longest.
Other than that you had some really good tips.

Not a secret feature but definitely not told really well. Cargo Link for outposts is amazing. There are two versions, one in galaxy and the other intergalactic. Intergalactic needs helium to run. But what they do is the convoy’s job from Fallout 4. They link your outposts together. In the first system I have one cargo link on a planet with aluminum and another with iron and I have them send the stuff to a planet with nickel and cobalt. This allows me to make as much storage and adaptive frames I want as well make iso magnets to make money and exp all I want. Especially when you get the large storage from the outpost engineering skill and manufacturing research.
Also add the cargo transport to your outpost and link it as an output. This means you don’t have to put everything into your ship or grab things from storage. It goes to the cargo transport, that doesn’t put it in your ship, but let’s you access resources as if it was in your ship.

Another tip that was missed here is to hold Control and click on ship parts. This allows you to select a number of parts that you may wish to paint all at once for a two tone look. It also allows you to move parts. Say you've got a weapons pylon that you want moved, you can hold control, select all of the parts as well as the pylon, and everything highlighted in red will move as a single unit so you don't have to move a bunch of parts one by one.

With regards to transferring inventory from personal to ship, you can do it from anywhere on your ship without having to access the ship inventory panel in the cockpit. Anywhere onboard just open your inventory, hit whatever you use to cycle between inventories, like swapping between buying and selling from a vendor, Q by default on PC, and it will jump to ship inventory. Hit it again, and you're back to yours, but can now send to the ship.

Everyone goes to that tiny panel in the ship cockpit to access ship cargo, but far better than that, just get close to your ship and hit “k” (on PC) to bring up your character menu… then mouse over South-West on the circle to “ship”, and from that menu, go to cargo…
You don’t even have to be in the ship to do this- just close. Makes loading and unloading your sheep a breeze.

    - I've found a magazine that supposedly buffs all ship missile damage by 5% I think that was in the UC Vanguard first mission. I've also found a book that specifically mentions the second level of a skill I don't yet have (sounds like it may grant me that level if I already have the skill unlocked). Explore mission areas as thoroughly as you can!
    - Scanning a planet while in orbit will create a scan report in your inventory. If you're strapped for cash it looks like you can sell the info. I've not sold any, but it does have a value listed. Not sure if the scanning done while on the planet contributes to the value of the scan report, I just noticed these recently and haven't explored the implications of them yet.

took me a minute but finally got all my resources from one system ending up on an HE-3 Low grav moon where i just have shitload of storage and off planet transferring capabilities. So if you are trying to get all resources to one outpost this is how it's done:
      - start at resource gathering outpost and build 1 cargo link, have all resources flowing into outgoing for this cargo link
      - go to next resource outpost, build 2 cargo links
      - connect the first outpost to one cargo link, and link the incoming materials to outpost storage (should have mining and other stuff coming into this from this outpost as well, making 2 outposts resources here.)
      - Use the second cargo link as a send off and link your outpost storage to that one, rinse and repeat for all the resources you are gathering in that system
      - Build your final send off point somewhere in that system on a planet/moon that has HE-3 resource (as this is the fuel used to jump between stars) and build the cargo link meant for the out of system travel on top of HE-3 Drills, make sure the HE-3 is being input into the fuel station on the out-of-system cargo link
None of this needs companions and you can do it all solo. good luck out there space cowboys

Everything aspect of the game tjay involves space sucks. The the cutscenes and loading screens totally take you out the immersion. It's a good game it's just not a great game

It's a good game. I'm glad you enjoy it. As a big Space Engineers fan, I was hoping for a more enjoyable building and flying experience. I think we all fell for the marketing. It has a really cool storyline and I enjoy other areas of the game, but I cant help but feel a bit let down

@@3345karlyeah but if they have the planets close enough to travel between that would kinda break immersion too. Like NMS the planets are so close and it’s still kinda annoying to get to other planets. Space is empty af it would be kinda boring. Nobody wants to sit in a ship for literally hours to get to a neighbor planet, it’s kinda necessary to speed it up with cutscenes.
Wish they used cutscenes instead of loading screens tho.

Buzz, I love your vids! Hey, if you do an outpost building vid (and I really hope you do!) , in the Help menu it says there is a clear mode in the build outpost menu, but I have searched everywhere and can't find it. Love to see you show where it is. For those that don't know the clear mode is supposed to be used to clear large boulders and other obstructions so you can build. For some reasons trees just disappear when you build over them so no need to worry about them. Cheers!

If you are with the crimson fleet, they will buy unregistered ships

Yeah just like with contraband, i keep everything high value for late game, so i can sell at max profit.
EDIT: I'm not joining crimson until I'm done with the UC and Ranger main quests, i don't want conflicts 😆

The uc vanguard is lit as fuck. One of the best moments. Space horror almost. At it was tough to beat on very hard, lvl 38. Definetelly reccomend this later in the game.

  • @FabledGentleman
    @FabledGentleman 10 месяцев назад +2

Speaking of contraband. What I've done so far is to just go to the red mile, and i just dump all my contraband on the ground there, i can come back for it later when i have everything in order and also when i get more money for what i sell. I have contraband for several millions on that landing pad, and it has stayed there for 20+ hours of game play.

Try keeping it light loaded and buy a little of every thing you only need for crafting till you get 2.6 mill for a 2.200kg cargo b or c type ship

Definitely love the game. However i think it's unfair how the price of starfield in morocco is 50% cheaper than for the rest of the world. most of us playing are students so we can't afford it

This is so silly. There are many countries that pay less for games. The reason is because their economies suck. To put it in perspective $60 amount for one new game in my country is equal to half a month's groceries, 2-3 months of electricity/power, or 20x big mac meals. So the price of games is scaled to the economy of different countries, usually. Unless you're like mine, which somehow doesn't have a scaled digital store making gaming a weird luxury instead of something for everyone. It's not unfair, it's balanced, I'm glad other countries are being treated better by digital stores.
