When introducing the third dimension, the notion of mobility gets a new meaning. Suddenly movement is not confined to the ground and neither are the ideas of what’s possible to achieve.
Nick Jacobsen is a three-time kitesurfing world champion and thought to be one of the world’s most eccentric extreme athletes. With his kite and board, he seeks to challenge the possibilities of the sport while pushing his own boundaries in the process.
Contrary to popular belief, Nick has other means of transportation than hopping around with his kite. He drives his car to and from competitions, and during those drives, he visualises his runs down to every move, every jump, every breath.
“My car represents that space, a place where I can collect all my thoughts. To be in the right state of mind in my car, I need to feel safe. It’s my calm before the storm.”
