  • Goldendoodles (actually, ALL Doodle dogs) need to be brushed regularly. But sometimes they are less than co-operative about it.
In this video, we look into teaching a Goldendoodle (or Labradoodle, Aussiedoodle, Cockapoo, Spoodle or other long haired breed) to like being brushed… or at least be more co-operative.
How did I teach my Sophie as a (Goldendoodle) puppy, and how did I re-teach her as an adult (after she had a relapse in behaviour)?
I’ll tell you all about my doodle dog brushing tips in this video.
Even if your dog hates being brushed, you will find tips on how to improve the situation - for any long-haired dog.
Also, the link to my video about brushing-&-combing to avoid mats (and to avoid the #1 doodle grooming mistake) is here: • GOLDENDOODLE GROOMING:...
    All the best,
    Joanna (& Sophie)

Thank you for the tips!! My 5 month Goldendoodle thinks brushing is a game and I’ve been using 2 brushes, one in each hand so when he bites one brush, I can keep brushing with the other. Not the best method but it gets the job done 💕

Thanks for sharing that Mandy. That's fabulous about using the two brushes... we need to stay inventive about different methods and approaches, and do whatever works for our dogs. Thanks for watching and enjoy your puppy x

LMAO I thought I was the only one using two brushes to comb my baby! One for her to chew and attack while the other to do the job haha

Groomer here. Doodles need to see the groomer every 4-6 weeks! If you take your dog twice a year of COURSE they struggle! A routine schedule is the only way to keep your doodle longer if you don’t want it shaved UNLESS you brush and COMB DAILY!

Hi Laura, I totally agree. Because I chose to keep my dog in long coat in the early days, she wasn't as used to being groomed professionally and so I now do it myself. About your point about brushing and combing... I made a whole video about this for doodle owners - sharing your exact message x ruclips.net/video/eF1kXSzMtYM/видео.html

This might work better since my pup wont let me bribe her with treats
