Joy to the world.
Danny Hutton was singing the part you enjoyed. His "sound" was a mimic of the "vaudeville" sound of the 20s & 30s.
>Eli's Coming< is another one you have to do the live version. Great performance!
Exactly I'm pretty sure it was based on Al Jolson when how he sang "Mammy".
@@steveullrich7737 Hahahaha! Al Jolson! You are showing your age. But then am I showing MY age? No....I was born in 1951.....But I know who he is. Just like you.....
@@steveullrich7737 When he sang Swanee.
Danny looks like someone that was in the First Edition with Kenny, doing Just Dropped In To See...
These dudes were so funny. And having 3 vocalists always kept the sound fresh and interesting. Keep going, Van! ❤️
They were always fun! Saw them in concert twice & there was always humor along with the music.
The big cut-up is Danny Hutton. He's from Ireland originally. The other 2, Chuck Negron (the moustache) & Cory Wells are American. Cory recently passed away.
I agree with every song on Mike Miller's list & would add "Try A Little Tenderness". Cory shines on that great classic, very soulful. And "The Show Must Go On" is a lot of fun.
The sound quality from these old tv shows isn't very good but you still get a good sense of what they were all about. If you do "Never Been to Spain" you'll hear how good they were in the studio because I don't think there's a live version anyway.
Please go down this rabbit hole. This band was truly loved by so many of us.💙☮💙
Eli's Coming live from a television show is a MUST!!!
Your favorite is Danny Hutton. Please react to a song he sings
"Black and White". Chuck Negron is the lead singer and the third gent is Corey Wells. Thank you for continuing with Three Dog Night!💖
Joy To The World, Joy to you and me🎶🎶💃🏼
'Joy to the World' wrecks me because my baby brother, who was killed at age 10 in a car crash with my mother, went to Jesus still believing I wrote the song for him. I sang it to him all the time. The song speaks of Jeremiah; my brother's name was Jeremy.❤❣❤💔❣❤❣
May he rest in peace.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
This video is an absolute gem. The way they have fun with it is epic.
My daddy used to listen to this. I think of him every time I hear this and other songs he loved. RIP to the best dad ever.💔
Three Dog Night was my favorite band in my high school years (70’s).Great reaction
My parents played this band on the record player when I was a wee one. Hearing them reminds me of that time. “One” is my favorite.
Same here. They were in pretty constant rotation with James Taylor, Jim Croce, and Carole King on the stereo while my mom cooked and cleaned and kept me from doing too many stupid things as a kid.
three excellent singers, I saw them a few times in the 70s. great performers
Please react to “Try a Little Tenderness.” It’s their soulful cover of Otis Redding’s classic and they do it justice. I think you’ll like it! Three Dog Night is one of the great 70s bands. You might have heard their Joy to the World (Jeremiah was a bullfrog….) as it shows up everywhere. Lots of great music from them.
I've always been partial to Three Dog Night, they have so many fantastic songs
Still haven't seen anyone react to Eli's Coming. What a killer performance.
Wilburn Reactions has a great reaction to Eli's Coming, his channel is great because he does so much wonderful classic rock. You should check him out! ruclips.net/video/MQGuI6r7XlU/видео.html
(No disrespect to LFR, you do great songs as well!)
Yes!!!
I’ve always loved this band but never watched their performances until now. I think it’s great that they had so much fun on stage. That makes it extra enjoyable to watch. This is one of my favorite songs. “Joy to the World” is another fun song but it’s not the Christmas song you might expect. Another great reaction Van. You also make things fun. 🌺✌️
I came down with Covid on Thanksgiving. Your blog (?) is keeping me from total boredom. Thanks
I don't know why these guys don't get more recognition. They are in my top 5 bands of the 70s and in my top ten of all time.
Definitely Joy To The World!
My oldest brother had this on a 45. Love it still. Black and White an other song of theirs. Profoundly beautiful message.
Danny Hutton gets pretty funny on Eli's Coming, live. That needs to be on your coming soon list! But Cory Wells leads on Try a Little Tenderness and he's outstanding on it.
The Show Must Go On.... A must live video you need to react to!
Joy to the World.
growed up with this band love the music.
Joy to the world is probably their most rocking song of all! :)
And a great Christmas song, always puts a smile on my face 😊
Yeah, that's a goodie (no doubt), but "Eli's Coming" might be a tad better. But then again...who knows?! They're both superb in their own way!
They were on ever show singing live. Only conference was better. They have a black and white sing with 50 kids in background singing backup. Chuck neuron was a tortured soul. He went to this to being a skid row junkie. He was able to pull himself up after he found Record company was taking his cut. I like the way you know the actual music. Still they are just a bans that was fun and didn't consider them as a serious sound. They were the biggest top ten groups from 70? To 73. Allman brothers. Look them up . Duane Allman was 16 and and Clapton like guy. Raised in Florida and Georgia he had blues, country, rockabilly and everything. He was 17 and was already being set up to play with different artist. They were given break in 70 at fillmore east. 4 nights they ended up staying another week with rock stars checking the new guys . Duane was 20, his brother Greg sang and played keyboards beats was slide guy oldest at 22? They were the most together band in my opinion. They were southern rock times 5 before Skynard and ? You had kids creating sound never heard before.
I LOVE this song, brings back so memories of my high school days. Thank you for reacting!! The guy in the the red white and blue shirt is HILARIOUS, but AWESOME...
Three Dog Night was a great band with lots of hits!
Because I was a kid at this time, this group represents everyday of my childhood. Till I was about 13.
The Show Must Go On is another great one
This video is from a show called Soundstage and is a whole concert with all their best songs. Well worth watching.
Never Been To Spain is a really good song, my fave.
Was fortunate to see them live, I was about 13 years old. They were very big part of the 70s.
Do your thing !!! Love your Channel and I'm 68 yrs. Old & I am Jack's Wife. Your Funny , So is ( 3 Dog Night) 🤣💯👌✨🙏✨
“Eli’s Coming” from the same concert is amazing!
Black and white my favorite song
yeah three dog night was it for a good part of the 70's.... they were my first band that blew me away and back then I was a young teen... Still love 3DN..... have to listen to from time to time... and they had the platform stacks... cuffed pants.. coolest style really.... and our hear styles.. man those of us that grew up during this time, we had a ball..
Man, a long as I have followed your reactions, I'm only just now snapping to how good you mimic the notes. You got a voice.
This is a fun one. Three Dog Night is awesome.
Black And White.
My favorite.
"Eli's Coming" is out there also - from this same concert. A great one also.
Chuck Negron had a cousin named Taylor Negron who was an actor. Taylor did a lot of movies. Taylor died few years ago
Joy to the world, ain't what you think. It's their own thing.
❤❤❤❤❤
Old Fashioned Love Song was just a joyful humorous song. Shambala is a great song.
Dude, your pitch perfect mimicry is quite the side bonus in this reaction. 😆
You ask what does the song mean to us? Well for me, we moved to a new town and being the new kid, I was an easy target. Today they’d call it bullying, but then it was paying your dues. In the spring, the local radio played this song a lot, right at the time when things were turning around and I was being accepted.
So this song always makes me think of the good times that happened after a rough patch. Love it!
Love, love TDN. Saw them in a small venue just a few years ago--great. They have SO MANY great pieces. This is only one. Keep on with them, you'll love them.
special cuz many if us were kids , best time of life
First concert I ever went too; down Minneapolis. Was a great time and memory
3 Dog Night was literally a good times band. You can’t not have fun listening to them.
He right about the list of songs. They’re all good!
I just love your reactions and you're always smiling but you've got a voice on you also
Being a kid in the seventies with your mom in the car listening to top 40 brings back memories of a pleasant time enjoy ed the video thank you it always makes me laugh too
NEVER BEEN TO SPAIN I think it's a must play!
Nice three dog night, yes joy to the world good song to
Mike is on target with the recommendations. Loved this group.
For real man you made me laugh so hard I cried your take on this was hilarious but they were AWSOME group in 70s thanks for laughter with you
I love your music reactions and the journey you take us on.
Yes check out (Joy to the World)
THE SHOW MUST GO ON
THREE DOG NIGHT
Three part harmony, three great singers.
It's good to remember a time that wasn't dark and dangerous, but loving and fun. Let's create that in this new world.
You are a born singer, brother...
So glad you've discovered Three Dog Night. My favorite troop. I second every suggestion of every one.
Black n White is one of my favorites of theirs. Joy to the World is also known as Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog.
Three Dog Night were hitmakers back in the day.
💘 Mom and Dad bought this album and we all used to sing and dance along together. Great memories
Show must go on
Check out three dog night‘s “Eli‘s Coming” live simply outstanding!!
Joy to the World is Not the Christmas Joy to the world. Take a listen, it's awesome!
Melissa Ward here. Have you listened to Eli s coming live yet. It's pretty cool. They were so popular for so many years. Alot to discover .3 lead singers that blend perfectly. Danny is the funny one. They really had a good time. Corey is soulful. Chuck just brang it,all the time.
I saw this band three times as they used to play concerts in Canada alot. I believe their drummer was from Calgary, Canada Their performances were always fun and uplifting. Eli's coming, Never been to Spain are two of my favourites. Cheers
Yes yes yes Joy to the world please next!!
Great reaction video. Thank you. ❤😊
Definitely you gotta do Joy to the World!
Three Dog 🔥💃🔥
Eli’s Coming (live) is another great one that’s fun to watch ☮️💜
They were great in concert. I also snuck in a camera and got pictures from the 2nd row.
3 dog night was the only band to have 3 certifiable lead singers! They took turns putting out GREAT songs!!
you right..
Yes, they sing a great Joy to the World. Killer video of live Eli's Coming will blow you away.(I believe concert you're watching) The also sang Jeremiah was a Bullfrog, Momma Told me Not to Come and more
Dr. Hook is another great band of that time
Kudos, Van, for going further with this band. And you did pronounce my correctly. 😊 Love the diversity you bring to your channel. Please don't stop.
The lead singers are Danny Hutton, Chuck Negron and Corey Wells
Joy to the World was the number 1 hit of 71-72.
You have a great voice yourself. I really enjoy your reactions!
Joy to the World is amazing. Do it.
I am promoting Bob Dylan's song "Mr. Tambourine Man" recorded in 1965 on his 5th album. "Bringing It All Back Home". This is a great combination of lyrics, vocals, instrumental plus a great harmonica solo by Dylan. When you hear this song by him, you understand why he won the Nobel prize in literature in 2016. It isn't just the lyrics, it is his performance of his lyrics that makes them stand out in greatness. You won't be disappointed.
Singer on the end is Danny Hutton. Middle singer, Chuck Negron
The one you like (think it's Danny Hutton) also is lead singer on their very popular song, "Black and white" which is a great song, they had so many. My first loves!
Elis coming ,joy to the world, one.
Thanks Van!
WOW, I know the music because of my mom, who is in her 60s but I never saw their videos! Thanks for showing!
The three singers each take turns being the lead singer. Your favorite, Danny Hutton, sings lead with the song "Liar" (one of my favorites of theirs) which has a totally different vibe.
If you like bands that have fun while preforming try Doctor Hook and the Medicine Show. Live at BBC. "Cover of the rolling stone" "I got stoned and I missed it" "Penicillin Penny" Cause they really know how to ham it up. Also really good music.
Eli’s Coming from the same show.
Dude, I busted out laughing, the way you said "My man's mustache is legendary" Funny shit, man 😆
Don’t forget Joss Stone…. Right to be Wrong…. I must be waaaaay done the list …..😊
I really love 3 Dog Night…. They were one of my Faves….saw them in concert several times~!!!
I grew up with this song but have never seen this very strange performance haha. And yes do "Joy to the world". It's not what you think
You got to do "Eli's Coming" live, astonishing. 3DN were a tremendous band. You can find it, it's the same gig as this one. They had 3 lead singers really.
They were my 1st concert as a teenager. I was in love with Chuck!!!!! His hair was sexy!!!! And that 70's 'stach! It was the part of my life of peace, love & rock n roll.
The Lead singer, with the Freddie Mercury mustache, as you put it, is Chuck Negron.
The one to the right of him, getting down having fun on stage is Danny Hutton.
And the third singer to the left, is Corey Wells.
