Love Trapper J, been subbed for awhile like you scotty! Keep up the fishing and trapping I look forward to your videos as much as the hunting public, TOP TIER ENTERTAINMENT.
Wow, the last check was something, that one beaver was a horse. I can see why you are going to wait until spring to do more, chopping out that ice looks like a hell of a lot of hard work. Al
I always end up taking my gloves off when placing my 330's under water. Dang cold sometimes but easiest way for me to make sure everything is how I want it.
Nice job!! I pulled all my beaver sets this week because it’s about 1/2 mile to my spot and we got pounded with snow. Hope to get back out there soon. 6 traps netted me 20 in 8 days and I have 5 more lodges to set up on.
Maybe you got some videos of locating bank dens on swampy areas or rivers? The area that I’m hunting does not have ponds or lakes with beavers and I am having trouble locating the bank dens
Hey Maniac I was just watching “On the trapline ep 13 steady on the coyote line”” from Traplines and Inlines and he paid you a nice compliment that he learned a lot of from you on trapping beavers. He said he is mostly a snare and ram trapper of yotes. I thought that was awesome. I watch him, you and trapper J all the time. I strictly am a Hunter and fisherman. Even though I never trapped, my brother does I really enjoy your guys videos a lot. 🇺🇸👍
Good video!! Been learning a lot from you. Caught my first beaver this year. 40 pounder and alitte one. Was gonna be done because of the ice getting so thick but I can still see their runs so watching this makes me want to do some ice chipping. Walked out to a different lodge today and they were really mudding it up around a week ago but it really got cold here in Michigan so everything is frozen up. Thinking of going out there with my axe or chain saw and opening up a hole above their runs and giving it a shot. The ones I got was out of a different lodge but I think there was only the two in that one. Anyways thanks for doing the videos so I can learn more. Alot to learn when your just getting started. I'm definitely hooked after catching that 40 pounder.
Have you tried ladder sets with footholds ? Was watching the a history channel episode and they make a baited ladder with a foothold below it, figure I could use some of my footholds for beaver now before spring and ice thaw.
When your day is going so well, you realize HEY THESE SLEDS ARE STACK-ABLE should've done that so I had room for everything. Could've of had a beaver train leaving here.
At beaver number 2 I’d be resetting all traps, beaver are know to go into a state where they sleep for week or 2 then get outside and eat for solid werk
I'm curious what you opinion is on the best time to trap beavers? the ice is too thick and the snow too deep up in the UP to continue trapping, so I've been planning my attack for the spring, but curious if you find it easier in fall, winter or spring and why? thanks, great videos!
@@330Maniac thanks! hey a few buddies from MN and I go out to ND every year to duck hunt, I drive right by ya to get out there, if your ever interested you're more then welcome to join us
The word SHIT is an acronym for 'S'hip 'H'igh 'I'n 'T'ransport. In old, old England they transported goods by Sail ships. Manure was a commodity they transported. If manure got wet it made a stinking mess so they hung bags of manure on the walls/ceilings, etc to keep them off the wet decks. The "F" word is another acronym that came out of the Catholic church; 'F'or 'U'nauthorized 'C'arnal 'K'nowledge.
They are prime all the way into April. The issue they have is once it gets warm and the beaver are able to get above the ice they start to rub bald spots on their pelts.
Great content, one thing maybe to consider would be shorter videos which I know would be difficult with the sets and editing but sometimes a 45 min video is daunting to watch. Otherwise great catches and goodluck!!!
I’ve done what your doing only back in 1950s there weren’t many gloves available? But old man auther has every joint in my hands swollen! Get those gloves and protect yourself from ice water
For what it’s worth? I used to Conoe around the lakes I trapped , I put a sign up at every bank den? Both muskrats and beaver, the sign I used was something only I knew what it represented, people seeing these signs never knew what they meant
Definitely looking forward to watching this later on tonight!!!👍👍👍
Congrats Scott that was an awesome day, really brings back the memories. Know the feeling of a big day. Thanks for sharing.

You have to do a spring beaver series with trapper J. It’s not up for debate. Let’s make this happen.
I'd love to trap with him! Unfortunately Minnesota sucks and doesn't allow out of states trappers
@@330Maniac ahhh go to mo or Iowa man, let’s make this happen.
@trapperJ what say you?
New viewer great video! Love them beaver!
Awesome video
From “ I don’t want to be skunked” to 6 beavers. Wow!
#330 triggers ( coat hangers) .. They work perfectly 👍 cut to suit
What’s the deal with the snares? You prefer one lock over another? Thoughts after this episode?
STILL ONE OF MY FAVIRITE VIDS
Redemption
Sweet

I have seen it but never used it. There is another baited set I utilize with a foothold
Hard work ...... pay off.
Lil RUT DANIELS!!!🤥🤥👍👍👍👍👍🤥
Nice video!! Have you ever frozen you beaver and then skinned them at a later date?
common
Yeah many people freeze them and skin later
When your day is going so well, you realize HEY THESE SLEDS ARE STACK-ABLE should've done that so I had room for everything. Could've of had a beaver train leaving here.
How many beaver have u caught this year Scott?
300 pounds of beaver probably get enough meat to get through the winter!!!
Wow great video. Do you put all the beavers up or sell them green ?
Sell them green
At beaver number 2 I’d be resetting all traps, beaver are know to go into a state where they sleep for week or 2 then get outside and eat for solid werk

Right before ice out in the spring they are best..late February
@@330Maniac same for muskrat?? (we can't legally disturb pushups or huts in MI)
@@TheRyantanner Basically anytime after mid December they are fully prime

Netflix has a new show on curse words and both of your examples are said to be false. Not dogging on you, just thought you might want to check it out.
Man looking at you on the ice makes me jelly iv been dying to go ice fishing but the weather in my area has other plans
👍
Triggers gold, the beaver will fold!!! DIDNT GO 20. !!!!!!!!!!
well done!
What do you do with these prey?
U need a pair of Gauntlets. Only $20 and work great.
how long is beavers fur prime in minnosota
Through February typically
They are prime all the way into April. The issue they have is once it gets warm and the beaver are able to get above the ice they start to rub bald spots on their pelts.

This one here was a long one and I didn't intend it to be that way. Usually I like to keep them around 20 minutes

Hi my Dad whas a true Trapper and Hunter and Fisher men.He caught a Monster Beaver 90 pound,it was a male.
When are you going to go trap some muskrats
