I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and it's stuck by me ever since. When I made this RUclips name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so... OG + KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

Every new kpop fan should know that JYP himself is controlling only cares about his hot new artists doesn’t promote his older artists properly and that he’s no good dirty rotten idol CEO he may have been nice in the beginning but once TWICE ITZY & SKZ came along (I STAN ALL 3 GRPS) he just started focusing less on GOT7 & DAY6 and more and more on these e groups
Remember GOT7 debuted as 7 and left as 7 after 7 years and they are one of the best groups out there

You're thinking of New Jack Swing, which was popular in the late 80-s-early 90's. You're correct that JYP is a big fan of that era and that's what he was referencing in this song and video.
True that! Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and everything they created(the list is too long to mention), New Edition and all their solos and BBD, heck even NKOTB considering both were created by Maurice Starr.

JYP is at the stage of his career when he doesn't need to chase a big audience or go for big money. He's got Twice, Stray Kids, Got 7, NiziU and Itzy to keep his bank account full. He's doing the music he likes which is the music he grew up listening to, American music and Korean Trot music. He's also staying close to some of the artists that aren't in his company anymore, like Rain and Sunmi. He loves finding new talent and helping them fulfill their dreams. He spent a year creating NiziU and if you've seen the Nizi Project show it's obvious that he loves doing it, and he's also very good at spotting and nurturing talent when it's just beginning to show.

Plus the MV production was so well produced and acted - I laughed SO MUCH, especially at the end! Thought you could use some comic relief and reminiscing 👏
