The whole Kpop industry was massively influenced by US 90's R&B. The 90's were when South Korea was rediscovering and remaking its culture after shaking off a military dictatorship in the late 80s, so this music was at the right place at the right time. Guys like JYP and Rain have a very serious connection to that style and time. Teddy Riley has produced and consulted on Kpop songs, so New Jack Swing is firmly embedded in Kpop. I'm sure a lot of other 90's producers have acted as consultants, it just didn't end up in a press release. Two of the the three large practice rooms at JYP are the "Bobby Brown" room and the "Michael Jackson" room (the "Madonna" room is the third). With all the recent TWICE dance practice videos, you are seeing the Bobby Brown room. It's an era that was fun and works well with choreo, so I don't see it going away soon. If you have a 90's era synth like a Roland D50. sell it in Korea; you'll get a good price. The live stream commented on the background for this song and MV. Rain used to be JYP's protege until Rain left the company. That was very hurtful to JYP, and a public rivalry started between the two. They are both older now, and they've both done well. This is them laughing about it. It's also a sign that the problems have been resolved between them, which is good. I'd like to see them work together more often. They are both geniuses at developing talent.
Plus JYP spent a handful of years of his youth living in NYC. From what I’ve been able to piece together from various tidbits of context clues, it may have even been specifically Harlem, because I’ve heard mentions of the Apollo. Though, being such an iconic venue, you wouldn’t have to be from the borough to regularly visit.
You know what? They are not public rivals. Rain left JYP to pursue better growth in his music and acting career. 😅JYP also helped out during the 2008 Rainism album. Rainism album is probably the best musical album in the music history🎉 and later rain joined the army in 2012, he gave his company J Tune to JYP to support his teacher ❤😊 ❤❤
@RiffShark007 this aint just the same beat...it literally is bobby browns beat remixed and remastered...even the dancing and vibe is very bobby brown inspired and thats obvious...this song is probably a tribute to that era or to bobby browns style
This song reminds me of a New Edition song and Brandy and Monica's The Boy is Mine. The video reminds me of You Rock My World by MJ, Same Girl by Usher & R Kelly and The Girl is Mine by MJ and Paul McCartney.
OMG I JUST REALIZED RAIN SAID "OH SHIT " IN THE END 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
