One year, our cat Nibby thought that Santa forgot about her. As the children were opening their gifts, I noticed that Nibby was sitting with her back to us and looking down at the floor. She was sad and pouting, so I got her stocking. I said, "Nibby, Santa didn't forget you", and when I put her stocking next to her, she perked up and began to pull things out! It just goes to show that animals have feelings and understanding things like holidays!
So true! They just want to be a part of the family, and thought of as a member of the family - not excluded. Exclusion just means that the family are not that loving, simple as that.
We didn't buy our cat presents, but we left the wrapping paper and ribbons on the floor so she could stalk and pounce on her imaginary prey all day to her ❤'s content. She LOVED IT 🙂🙃☺️🐯‼️
When my cat sauntered up to the Christmas tree, she sat down under the branches, peeking at me. I put her bed, toy, and a small tree branch with her. She was sooo happy!! She knew she was as special as the tree, which had been fawned over for hours. That was her day bed for weeks.
Five of my farm cats decided to dwell indoors. I installed a doggie door for them, whatever. Then when we get snow, they go outside and play in it. They come in wet and cold then lay infront of the woodstove, and groom for an hour straight!

Morris just looked at the tree and 'vester (Sylvester) took a wack a one ornament then slept under the tree and did not touch it after that. They got their presents from Santa Kitty and were very happy. Every year was the same and it all worked out. They never messed with the tree. Stay safe out there. Take care and God bless.

He is the only cat that I have every had that loved Christmas and knew when it was actually Christmas morning. It was a joy to watch him.

I had a mum and three of her kittens at Christmas, so mummy cat was sparkle, then sooty, blaze, patches and my tree always looked liked it had been put through a shredder ! Miss them so much. They had nineteen years of fun and games

How can you continue to dress your cats and dogs in those stupid outfits, when you see how uncomfortable they are? Are you all so blind and completely insensitive to their distress? I can't watch anymore these videos. People truly enjoy being cruel to the ones that cannot defend themselves.
This was our third Christmas with our new cat, and the previous two she had promptly climbed up the tree and created chaos. But this year several ornaments were broken right away, and I had to give her a stern talking to. When she climbed up again, I did the "No No Bad Kitty" angry mommy voice, and tried to her pull her out, which she didn't come easily, and son of a gun she's never been inside it since!
This makes me so anxious. I've always been meticulous about the tree. Unexpectedly, since last Christmas, I have acquired 4 cats. If I hadn't fallen in love with them, I would have re-homed 2 of them. That is why this year I didn't risk putting up a tree. I know exactly what would have happened. I would have come unglued when they destroyed it The 2 adults would have done okay, but I have 2, 8 month old kittens who will obliterate anything in their paths. I have lost some of my most favorite things in my house because of them....vases, lamps, plants, etc. and they tore out the whole underside of a new chair and the list goes on and on. I don't understand why I'm putting myself through this. I should trade them all in on a dog and try to re-gain my sanity. 😾🙀😿😹

The girl kitten, ( she and her brother are bigger than their Mom now), doesn't like to be touched or petted, yet wanted to be close to me, is coming around now. She actually jumped in my lap today! I was thrilled. Her brother is the extreme opposite. He loves to be cradled like a baby. It's just one of those things that go with the youngest ones. Thanks!🤗

We had a silver tree and heated the house with a Woodstock. The cat got a shock every time she got near the tree from the dry, static electricity. She learned to stay away as soon as we unboxed the tree each year.😅
