Little advice if you at travelling from a cold country to a warm one put sum shorts in your bag that doesn’t go in the over head locker so you can change after the flight if it is warm and they are easy to get to
You were pretty lucky thst you ciukx bring that second big bag !! Often in Europe you are not even allowedto have a purse as sn extra. Multiple times I had to put my purse in my carry-on so even had to save room there upfront. So be careful when you bring two pieces as handluggage to Europe. You might be forced to leave it behind or when you are lucky you can check it in. But often the flights are backed.
Jada Miller I agree she packed too much of some things. You only need one 3-1-1 bag if trim down, And always use a 1 quart freezer Ziploc bag, not items bought from cosmetic departments that say they’re a good substitute. That make up kit was way way too big. Too many shoes. Notice she didn’t specify how many dresses or jeans she took. I’m an older lady so I never wear jeans especially in Europe besides they’re too heavy, too hard to wash and dry, and way too uncomfortable for sitting for long periods. I suggest smaller packing cubes so you can organize shirts in one dresses in one scarves in one so forth. Packing cubes should also fit snugly and clothes in it should be fairly compressed not loose and flapping around as she demonstrated. I’ve been on 30 day trips with 124 inch suitcase and a medium size backpack. Anything is possible especially if you have to carry yourself. And I always believe you will have to carry it yourself, maybe up to or three flights of stairs.

best thing every- gallon size ziplock for socks and undies, throw when dirty and need of washing and smoosh out the air. The simplest best thing. *Disagree on the breathable stinky clothes stuff. Ziplock it shut and put in a front pocket or separate compartment from main clean clothes. Also Throw in 2 Gain dryer sheets 1 with stinky 1 with clean, can use to polish shoes, keep things fresh, de-static hair or clothes and a zillion other things. Also, though an oldie and experienced traveler, I just figured out a hack last month while heading to Ireland, though I'm sure I'm not the first. Quart size bag- 30 round cotton [ads doused well with gentle micellar water, press out air seal. The pads absorb the liquid, so no TSA will even blink and it cut down on space and products. I still brought my powder cleanser from DHC, but this just rocked for removing makeup, cooling off, taking up like NO space great carry on hack, and yes after 17 days they still were fresh and clean out of the ziplock :) (that was my only concern on the try) AND AWESOME for your first round!!!!! - 3 pairs of PJ's, man-god I wish!!!
Was curious on the material of your bag. I want to buy it, it looks great in the video. I clicked on the link and they have canvas and polyester. What material was your bag? Is it the poly one?
This is literally how I pack mine! But I am using a Bento bag with a lot of compartments which makes packing more fun and convenient. Not to mention it has a lot of space, especially that I am a heavy packer.
I am German and they very often make everyone empty out their entire suitcase if the only missed the toothpaste, so you did get lucky in that case to be honest 😂
We are planning a second trip to Europe (London and Paris only). I told my husband this time I will pack in a carry-on, but he doesn't think I can do it and that's why I'm here. I may have trouble with my shoes though. In all fairness, on our first trip we BOTH overpacked and regretted it!
Unless a person has special needs, if you plan and pack strategically, you can warm weather travel for weeks with 7 to 8 Kilograms luggage total. This is planning for one load of COLOR laundry each week. Small clothing items can be sufficiently sink washed or while you shower. Buying synthetics makes traveling easier. True travel experts will tell you to pack for the best case scenario (such as no rain) and purchase items that less than best scenario situations force upon you.
It did - but it definitely was a squeeze! Luckily we didn't have any issues on any of the flights. However, I should mentioned I'm only 5'2, so I don't need a ton of leg room :)
idk if anyone else said this but i had( still do ) got these two purpleish colored suitcases that look like every other one but i took a sharpy to them granted they are fabric you might need paint for those but back to the sharpy i drew some fun stuff on it making it small enough that it dont look to tacky but big enough that i can spot it from anywhere i might need to
I’ve been watching so many packing videos for my 10 day trip in California in July but not for helping me pack well somethings like rolling my clothing and a little more.
Yup I've got a shampoo bar, only liquid I'll have is face cream and may be sunscreen. I believe in minimizing packing if you'll have access to washer.plus if you buy shirts that are linnen thin, she seems to be a bit more higher maintenance w the flat iron and all.dude shes higher maintenance then me😆
I find some of the roller bags, esp. the 360* are ‘bigger’ than the required measurements when you add in the wheels. Did yours fit into the required measurements and if not did you have any problems carrying it on?
We didn't have any issues with this one! There are definitely some other travel roller bags that are slightly larger than this - so we tried to err on the side of caution. We were also never asked to place it inside of those measurement wracks to see if it met the requirements. The only time we had an issue was when flights were really booked up, or you were literally only allowed one bag (including a purse), so we would have to check the bag!
I have never used a shower cap. But then again if my hair gets a little damp in the shower and it isn't a washing day its no big deal to me, I usually air dry my hair anyway.
FINALLY!!! I FINALLY know what that outer faux pocket is for that allows you to slip the bag onto your roller bag. Shame I donated a really fine leather bag a couple of months ago that I never use because I never travel - and then my boss tells me a few weeks later that we’re going to Canada.🙄
Have you ever traveled with Lufthansa using that tote bag from Lo & Sons? I know they are a bit strict with their luggage size? I love the tote. I am going to Italy for 10 days and I would love to take that tote with me
I have not! We mainly took Air France and Vueling! I remember Vueling was pretty strict (1 bag only), but that might have been because of the size of the aircraft.
Going to Italy soon & this will be my 1st time to travel this far & for that long using a carryon suitcase only & large carry on bag. I've been very nervous that it's possible for me until watching this video. I usually overpack & know every bit of space counts. love your lo & sons bag that can slip over the handle of the suitcase handle. I'd like to order it & your carry on in a darker color. He said you purchased it from Nordstrom, what brand is it? Glad to read the comment that the wheels were able to roll on the cobblestone streets with no problem!
Hi Amanda! How exciting!! I'm sure you'll have the best time! Italy is so beautiful. The brand for the roller bag is Nordstrom, there is a link above that will take you directly to it! I typically carried it when we hit a lot of cobblestone, but for the most part it rolled just fine! Definitely was able to take some bumpy roads. Enjoy your trip! xx
make sure before you buy luggage you check any airlines you're taking for weight and sizing restrictions! of all of the packing in a carry on videos i've watched, none of them would pass on the airlines were taking. i have heard they take weight limitations pretty seriously. we leave in just over a week, so i guess i'll find out!
It's just as easy to pack what you need as it is to overpack. Just think about what you're going to wear. Take clothes that are versatile and change up the outfits. Wear your bulkiest shoes on the plane so they take up less space in the suitcase or tote. You don't need to take a lot of makeup. Some women take multiple palettes. Space waster! And just wear your jewelry - watch, earrings, necklace, bracelet, rings. You don't need extras.Trust me. I traveled a lot until I had kids late in life.
Devices from USA will not work in EU you have to be careful with that and check that they are 100~240. If it is 100~127 there is risk of burning, fire or explosion! So don't take your curlers or dryers unless they are 100~240...
Don't dress like a tourist, don't use your phone in the street, don't hang your camera off your neck, buy a anti theft backpack, don't walk into crowds without keeping your hands in your pockets, you will feel anyone try to grab your pockets. Use a hidden pocket scarf for carrying spare cash. Just be aware of your surroundings. Crime is in every country and on every continent. Whatever you do at home to stay safe, do abroad.
I'm binge watching videos for my first ever trip to Europe I'm hopefully taking next year. Do you remember what color of the Lo and Sons bag you got? Or what the material is? Thank you so much for a great video!
Hey love! I bought mine in the color dove grey and the material is washed canvas! Very sturdy! But be mindful with the lighter color, it can stain easily!
This is still way more than I’d like to take on a one month trip to Europe. I’d like to see a minimalist packing tips vlog, taking into account visiting laundromat and taking only essentials we need as individuals. Our hotels have many items/toiletries/hairdryer.
My first trip to Europe is this summer and we’re going for 3 weeks! Which adidas shoes are those?? I’m trying to find cute and comfy shoes that I can wear for the majority of the trip and I love those!
Yay!! Congrats! I'm sure you're going to have a great time! These are the Adidas Superstars! I also brought a pair of New Balance FuelCore Nergize which were also pretty comfy!
yes, most airlines consider one to be a carry on (like a suitcase) and the other as a personal bag (like a purse or backpack) but check with the airlines website to be sure that the dimensions of your bag match theirs!
Works only for big flights ! I still don't understand how she was able to take that amount of stuff in small flights around Europe, it's usually a really small luggage (with your handbag inside) and that's it ! But you should check for each flight depending on the compagny
Yes :) Keep in mind this was my first time taking this type of trip so I wasn't sure how much access I would have to a washer! We were also hopping hotels very frequently.
@@PrettyInProse a light weigh t shirt that you can rinse in the sink and drip dry - boom, jammies. if cold, add tights. saves room and both can be easily hand washed in the sink w/hotel shampoo.
How did these work out for you in Europe? I’m traveling soon and I’m nervous since their requirements are a bit stricter then America. Did they give you trouble about having 2 pieces of luggage and did you have trouble fitting the smaller one under any seats?
Some airlines only allowed 1 bag on board (I believe it was Vueling from Rome to Santorini), so I had to check my roller bag in that case. I didn't have any trouble fitting the canvas bag under the seat! Though it was definitely a tight fit. I'd recommend staying on the safe side!
Hi, I’m looking at buying this Lo & Sons bag for my trip to Europe at the end of April, but the measurements are larger than what is technically allowed for my airline. Are they strict about the measurements for personal bags on international flights?
Hello! So if don’t check in my bag cause i am planning on only bringing a carry on bag, So am i allowed to bring a personal bag aside from my carry on or it only depends on the airline? Like a laptop bag or a handbag?
the amount of these packing carry on videos i watch and none of them ever show what the weight is of what they carry on is insane. Im pretty sure majority if not all airlines have weight and size restrictions. In Australia, NZ and Japan, the limitation is 7kgs for economy (14kg for business). Could not fit all of that into a small suitcase and weigh only a total of 7kgs 🙄
How do you stay under the 7kg limit with all that? I can pack all my stuff into the luggage ok but the weight of my luggage is always over and I don't carry hair straightners or cameras??
Hello, I have a question, everyone who goes to Europe takes a carry on luggage and a backpack but they are usually pretty full so where do you put all of the souvenirs and stuff you buy over there? I love shopping so it just seems very difficult for me. Please help!
Going to Europe soon, I see the tote doesn’t fit a lot of European airline “personal item” dimensions...did you have any issue with it? I’m needing to fit it under my seat in the plane
I went to Sweden recently and the personal bags were tiny. I would recommend looking up the exact measurements. Although you do have a little bit of wiggle room with that number.
Really, a one-week trip and a four-week trip require about the same stuff, except higher quantities of consumables. I'm going to India for two weeks, and I'm packing one week's worth of stuff, except for the toiletries and insect repellent. For those, I have measured what I use in a week, and I packed just over what I need for two weeks. (Obviously I'm packing two weeks of anti-malarial meds and probiotics, too.)
I watch packing videos to feel like I’m escaping somewhere. Anyone feel me?

Not to mention it has a lot of space, especially that I am a heavy packer.
marketing ☝. this is not an actual reccomendation
How did you not get on trouble for having creams and stuff not in your liquid bag 🤔
I am German and they very often make everyone empty out their entire suitcase if the only missed the toothpaste, so you did get lucky in that case to be honest 😂
Oh you can bring all those things on a plane in Germany too but it just needs to be under 100 ml and in that plastic bag
what German airport was it? I’m from Frankfurt
How do you make room for souvenirs? Thanks for the helpful video! I’m going to 6 countries in Europe for 24 days next May! I’m so excited! :)
Maybe you could squeeze some sort of tote in your suitcase?
We are planning a second trip to Europe (London and Paris only). I told my husband this time I will pack in a carry-on, but he doesn't think I can do it and that's why I'm here. I may have trouble with my shoes though. In all fairness, on our first trip we BOTH overpacked and regretted it!
They have clear plastic covers for your suitcases to protect them that are reusable
Oh wow I wish I had known that! LOL. I needed you in my life sooner!
I love my Lo & Son’s Deluxe Catalina tote! I also love the Away Carry-on.
True travel experts will tell you to pack for the best case scenario (such as no rain) and purchase items that less than best scenario situations force upon you.
cool. thanks for the tip about not worrying about rain unless it does rain! Great idea!
I traveled to India for 3 months on half that amount and never missed anything. It is natural for humans to overpack.
Did your lo and sons bag fit fine under the seat? It seems big.
It did - but it definitely was a squeeze! Luckily we didn't have any issues on any of the flights. However, I should mentioned I'm only 5'2, so I don't need a ton of leg room :)
Confused on bringing a mirror to Europe for 9 flights over two weeks. Weren’t you afraid it would shatter?
idk if anyone else said this but i had( still do ) got these two purpleish colored suitcases that look like every other one but i took a sharpy to them granted they are fabric you might need paint for those but back to the sharpy i drew some fun stuff on it making it small enough that it dont look to tacky but big enough that i can spot it from anywhere i might need to
Great idea!!
Can I please ask why you chose to use a packing cube that was the same size and shape as your suitcase?
So that I could pull it out and lay it onto the bed, rather than lifting my luggage each time. Just easier to reach and separate in the hotel room!
I’ve been watching so many packing videos for my 10 day trip in California in July but not for helping me pack well somethings like rolling my clothing and a little more.
Solid shampoo & conditioner and face cream bars pretty much all you need
Which Lo & Sons tote is that exactly? I see four different totes or carry-on's on their site?
Hi Cecelia! It was the Catalina Deluxe Tote bag!
What is the brand of suitcase? What are the outside dimensions? Great video. You held my interest and I've got to get one of those makeup bags.
Hi Teresa! The brand is Nordstrom! I have a link in bio for all the deets!
I have never used a shower cap. But then again if my hair gets a little damp in the shower and it isn't a washing day its no big deal to me, I usually air dry my hair anyway.
Ah I wish I could do that! When I air dry my hair it turns into a giant frizzball :(
Am I the only one who thinks she sounds like Selena Gómez?
FINALLY!!! I FINALLY know what that outer faux pocket is for that allows you to slip the bag onto your roller bag. Shame I donated a really fine leather bag a couple of months ago that I never use because I never travel - and then my boss tells me a few weeks later that we’re going to Canada.🙄
oh no lol!! I would love to visit Canada - I hope you have a safe trip!
I go a month at a time in a laptop bag and it doesn't matter if you're gone for 3 months or 5 days you pack the same. Clothes can be washed.
I will probably pack all of these for my 4 day trip :)
Jherlene Cargill Exactly!! Ppl mentioned that she packed too much... I’m like wow that’s like a 3-4 day weekend trip for me. 😂
lol thank you!! You make me feel better :)
I’m just watching this video now, so many great tips! Thank you! Do you mind telling where you got your side purse? If you remember
What's the brand of the makeup bag. I love it.
Devices from USA will not work in EU you have to be careful with that and check that they are 100~240. If it is 100~127 there is risk of burning, fire or explosion! So don't take your curlers or dryers unless they are 100~240...
How much did your carry on weigh and your personal item?
Good video and good idea to have the in -flight stuff in one little bag! (Mrs.Rugby)
This was so helpful! Absolutely love that tote bag!
Thank you! I can fit so much inside of it! I literally want their entire line lol
Great video & tips. Love the packing cubes!! Is there a size limit for the "personal item"?
Thanks! Yes, it depends on the airline. But they mostly went by weight!
Where did you get your hair iron straightner? I need to take a travel curling iron but I can't find one. They are all full size.
This video relieved so much stress
love your channel. please share your tips on how to avoid pick pocketer. have a trip coming to Europe
I'm curious about your luggage size in liter measurement?
I'm binge watching videos for my first ever trip to Europe I'm hopefully taking next year. Do you remember what color of the Lo and Sons bag you got? Or what the material is? Thank you so much for a great video!
Hey love! I bought mine in the color dove grey and the material is washed canvas! Very sturdy! But be mindful with the lighter color, it can stain easily!
Wait, so I’m NOT the only one that packs pj short specifically for under dresses, while bringing other pj shorts to sleep it?
You can always repaint your suitcase with paint spray
hello hello, really cute and good tips, nice channel
thank you for sharing with us
Greetings from a Frenchie in France
Thank you! I love France can't wait to go back!
Tks for all the info. What is the carry/weekender bag?
This is still way more than I’d like to take on a one month trip to Europe. I’d like to see a minimalist packing tips vlog, taking into account visiting laundromat and taking only essentials we need as individuals. Our hotels have many items/toiletries/hairdryer.
Please remember this was my first trip to Europe! :) I'm definitely not a minimalist lol
@@PrettyInProse My apologies. We all have individual travelling needs. Hope you had a lovely trip away. ✈️
THANK YOU FOR THIS HELPFUL VIDEO, Have a Nice Day.
So you can have a personal bag like a small backpack and a suitcase as a carry on?
yes, most airlines consider one to be a carry on (like a suitcase) and the other as a personal bag (like a purse or backpack) but check with the airlines website to be sure that the dimensions of your bag match theirs!
Mimi Rodriguez thank you for telling me 😊
Works only for big flights ! I still don't understand how she was able to take that amount of stuff in small flights around Europe, it's usually a really small luggage (with your handbag inside) and that's it !
But you should check for each flight depending on the compagny
3 pairs of PJ's AND you did laundry???? WOW...I'm thinking that's a lot.
You can steam the clothes without the wrinkle release
Which umbrella did you bring? It's not linked
take a pic of your back and buy a suitcase cover, they are so cute
Is it a 20inch cabin sized roller/suitcase?
Which airline did you travel with, from your city to Europe? Im going to Spain and I’m flying in delta
Hello! So if don’t check in my bag cause i am planning on only bringing a carry on bag, So am i allowed to bring a personal bag aside from my carry on or it only depends on the airline? Like a laptop bag or a handbag?
I found it helpful 💕✨
the amount of these packing carry on videos i watch and none of them ever show what the weight is of what they carry on is insane. Im pretty sure majority if not all airlines have weight and size restrictions. In Australia, NZ and Japan, the limitation is 7kgs for economy (14kg for business). Could not fit all of that into a small suitcase and weigh only a total of 7kgs 🙄
I carry only basic personal care (shampoo, soap, lotion and a comb) and it seemed like too much.
Is this the Catalina deluxe is small or large? Thank you
does your personal bag add up with the weight of the carry-on? like for example some airlines will only allow 8kg
Great vid👌 Where did you buy your tote bag? Shoes are always tricky bringing along✈️
Lo and Sons! :) Link is in bio!
Love the packing and cleaning videos for ideas
What is the brand of your backpack ?
How do you stay under the 7kg limit with all that? I can pack all my stuff into the luggage ok but the weight of my luggage is always over and I don't carry hair straightners or cameras??
Great tips!!
Thank you!
Cheez! So much stuff. I use that much for a four week trip!
Linda Langeheine - Everyone is different 😊
Really, a one-week trip and a four-week trip require about the same stuff, except higher quantities of consumables. I'm going to India for two weeks, and I'm packing one week's worth of stuff, except for the toiletries and insect repellent. For those, I have measured what I use in a week, and I packed just over what I need for two weeks. (Obviously I'm packing two weeks of anti-malarial meds and probiotics, too.)
Loved this video!
Thank you!
