    I like their way of thinking of not wanting to lock you into an ecosystem. Not only did they design it to take off the shelf projectiles, like paintballs, but they also made their projectiles' plans free to print on their website.

    Traditional Paintballs are .02 to .05 USD each unless you are buying the foster slug shaped projectiles, those are .50 a pop. This also makes it compatible with Pepperballs and lots of other crowd control, deterrence, and some less-lethal options already on the market. Very cool product!

    This system's distinctly reminiscent of the APS CAM870 system in airsoft - pre-charged shells capable of using .68cal paintball/rubber projectiles or (more often) BB buckshot loads backed by a wad and held with an overshot card, although those shells're powered by CO2. Cool to see the concept being expanded upon, I can see them being useful for pump shotgun training if one cannot get themselves to a proper range (or just feel like shooting some stuff at home)

      @stevep7346 10 месяцев назад

      I guarantee you aren't supplying enough energy from one of these to cycle a 1 lb bolt and compress the action spring of any semi-auto. Gas operated relies on a lot of overpressure acting on a piston through a gas port sized for a specific amount/ pressure of gas (semi-specific, there's a range, but it doesn't include paintball pressures). Recoil/ inertia operated shotguns rely on the recoil energy of the shot, of which, there will be almost 0 with one of these, so again, no.

Make it so I can get 8-10 people minimum ready to go with 10 minutes of setup time for each round, using a single fill station. $600 / person entry cost isn't nearly as attractive as say, a sub $100/ person startup cost for a team. It's like a miniature self-contained airgun in a shell. They load in any (12ga as of now) shotgun like a normal shell. If you mix up your live vs. training shells, that's on the you the user, not on the manufacturer and seller of training shotgun shells.

I have a background in industrial safety and "trust me bro, I'll only load these rounds in the gun I'm pointing at you" would be unacceptable at any workplace. Now, if that $600 included a barrel that wouldn't allow birdshot to be fired? Maybe. Could also do something similar to what Tazer did with their shotgun. No way this is cheap than just shooting your shotgun in Canada. It’s a good idea but I disagree with the notion of using it to shoot your friends, polymer barrel or not. That’s never a good idea.
      Also, snap caps exist for all calibers. That’s a better option than this.
