Just got a chance to see this, Joel... long story, way short: 2 rescue dogs, clinging to each other (later, found out the dog hoarder lady, from petsmart adoption, was exposed and arrested)..well-- the one dog, as he grew in confidence here, and worked great with your training, WAS then doing this to any dog, seen near my yard (not on leash, the first year, did great) but, as he grew into adult-teen... the dog would not respond to any of your teaching, and, i could not take the chance that something nad would happen (so i gave him back not realizing he was with a hoarder again) (long bad story about her threats, if folks didn't return dogs ti her)... it was my fail, and this buddy dog missed him, but, soon: this kept dog opened up to me in a vast amount of new ways, and after your teaching work, he has become a wonderful dog... he still has terrible fear of strangers, and, yet, NOW he trust me and my yard enough to bark and rush the fence 😮 (new lessons now-- he is learning to stop and SIT, and wait until the stranger, or kids next door, walk by... watching his triggers is bringing us success... 😊the "hugs and kisses" (mom is proud of me) WHEN he stops is working! He still has fear in this, as, he runs away from the ones that he "charges" if I try to get him to SIT too close the fence... he also has a stubborn side, when he "thinks" he is "busy with a "job" he is doing---- he is learning that I won't put up with that... main reason i shared, was, to see your work here is progressing on my dog and confrontation, but-- I could not see it through, sadly, with the FIRST dog, as, it looked TOO vicious for me, when he was with dog confrontations.... (did dna, he was have "pit bull terrier" and german shepard with a bit of cattle dog) (articles said: this mix is a good, but dominate centered mix)... the other that i kept is 14 different breeds, and, 😅 i see a main mixture of 4 or 5, interchanging, it is very funny and interesting... border collie, boxer, Australian shepard, german shepard, and "pit bull" (so called) terrier... I am thankful for you, Joel--- these traumatized DOGS were unlike ANYTHING (dog wise) that i had EVER seen ... at least, i did not fail, the one that I kept.. worse thing, left--- he shakes with fear, if anyone comes over--- but, i am working on it... thank you, for this video...
Ahhh...you started talking about the back right leg shakin 18:37 g but got side tracked and never finished as to why his leg was doing that or how the owner should respond to it. I really wanted to hear about that. 😥
I like t how calm Prince is here ! Would Impulse Controlle drills help to train her to tolerate Triggers too ? I get that desensitization through intruducing her slowly to her Triggers
That is what we thought but when we had our dog she's a year old now in training the trainer told us that it would be best not to take her out on walks because she reacted to people not the dogs. She is shy and has high anxiety so we've been working with her taking her out and exposing her but not overloading. I hope eventually she will be able to go out without any problem thank you for the video.
@@ScarletLetter7302 Kudos for you doing your research and not listening the the “trainer”. Honestly, there has to be more regulations for dog trainers. I did exposure + corrections (with a water bottle) with my dog aggressive terrier and it worked very well. I wish you the best on your training journey :)
Prince is an amazing dog for sure! These videos are so useful! I have a mini schnazer and I call him little prince now cuz he reminds me of him! but I give I'm all the love and praise in the world he's a good boy! Question about that right back leg shaking what did that mean ? cuz we just went right into the the Shepard being really good with the bull terrier. @beckman'sdogtraining
Hey Beckman, my 7m.o Rottweiler puppy is a frustrated greeter and starts pulling like crazy if a dog/cat is within the “threshold”. It’s getting a little better and she’s very polite off leash. Would you consider this her being reactive as well?
Unfortunately, if it's strange dogs that trigger mostly, and each new strange dog needs desensitzed as a trigger. Hard to get so many dogs to cooperate with this training.
My LaboRotti is 3 years old and she’s afraid of other dogs and she lunges at the dogs when we try to stay around other dogs, the funny thing is that we also have an older Maltese whom she’s grown up with and is really gentle with so I’m not sure why she’s afraid of other dogs. From age 4.5 months she was in training classes with other dogs and the behavior never changed.
Okay so my dog's back legs shake like all of the time. There is nothing physically wrong with his leg as far as I know (he is tested/clear for all kinds of things) so we thought it's something neurological. Is there something I can do to help him be more relaxed? He is a menace 😅
I've been struggling with my dogs friendlyness towards other dogs than my 2nd dog I used to take both of them to the dog park as pups and they were both great. My shepherd, however, was attacked by an adult pit or boxer or mix when he was between 6 and 8 months old (and won). At the time I thought I was helping by isolating him for a month or so from exposure to other dogs hoping that would give him some safe time to get over that ... But upon reflection it seems like the entirely wrong move. He only gets on with 1 dog who is not my own and has intimidated other dog owners and dogs in my neighborhood alike from seeming aggression. I actually believe he's harmless unless attacked from hints, but how do I bring that out all the time? I've tried many online ideas about familiarizing dogs. But in the area I live, most people are too scared to let their dogs work it out a little bit... especially with my seemingly scary but harmless pillow of a German shepherd.
Sir, any advice 🙏🏼 would be appreciated. My female getman shepard just turned 2 years old we have a chocolate lab she's 9. The Shepard lately has stated leaving bite, cut etc on labs face. Both fight at times mutually but lately now that the shepard is bigger she gets jealous and protective and beging to bite top of labs head, snout and neck....any help?
My dog was much like this one needing correction around other dogs, so she made one dog friend who she played with, and then another dog friend now meeting both regularly, and then meeting other dogs randomly in the park with her dog buddies, and now I can take her to the public market alone and strange dogs will come up to her, and she likes meeting new dogs.
Oh, same here! That mid-size goober can stand as stable as concrete, but I can grab collar with a bit of cheek skin and voile, I only need to do that once a walk 😅😅😅

Ha ha, this dog not wanting to sniff a butt, that might be the only rational dog in the world. He's thinking, "These guys are sick, why would I want to smell a butt?"
Who else noticed around 12:30 when the dog finally smells prince she stepped in front of her owner- in between prince and her owner, almost on top of him- TWICE. Perfect opportunity to tell him to pull his dog back and not let her cut him off
@@BDTraining ooooh! I see thank you! What happens with dogs that are in constant leg shakes? I knew a dog whose legs stopped shaking and became more relaxed after being trained, maybe that's different? He sometimes also chattered with his teeth. Was he just very anxious and needed an outlet/structure in life? (He was a miniature pinscher × Danish Swedish farm dog mix breed)
@@BDTraining this is interesting. My dog has a front leg shake in a sit sometimes. it seems weirdly structural, like a hyper extended joint, but he is also newish from the shelter and getting over reactivity. (these videos are helping!) Could it be structural or is it always nervous system?
My dog freaks out even if I'm nowhere to be seen & the other dog is 30ft away..... So far the only thing that is working is loose leash training and "look at me training". Fundamentally, she doesn't yet trust me to protect her, but we've only had her 2 months, she is very young (less than 2) and she was a stray rescued in the desert outside Phoenix. It also seems she was abused by an overweight man.
I agree with your first comment that she acts coyote-like. Super difficult to train a wild animal, even a partially wild animal. Great training technique.
Joel ? Right at @14:04 it looked like Prince (THE Prince) initiated a very strong Paly-bow like HE was seeing if she was READY to be play buddies yet ? ? As it was after she HAD sniffed his butt, was Prince reading where he knew YOU wanted to head with her, so at @14:04 HE initiates Stage 2 of the session FOR you ? ?
My dog doesn’t do the dance.. He starts posing like he is about to pounce.. No body movement and when the dog comes near he gives his best shot to bite. Not fun. And he is a Shihtzu
Excuse me I have a question about my dog and how to get rid of it ps this is google translated because I don't speak english very well well the question is my dachshund Herman and he is completely crazy he doesn't bite but he is crazy he is just copying with 6 other dogs no one else likes him it's an irish wolfhound a mutated pit bull because it's acceptably big it wags its tail and you get bruises and then three bloodhounds and then an australian shepherd they're all hunting dogs believe it or not it's not the important question is when me and Herman are out and meet everyone in a dog park or in a green yard, Herman the oldest 10 years old will start to laugh if another dog comes and then the others start doing what he does and then they attack it the other dog all 7 of them in a pack so the question is how are we going to end it and the other is why are they staring at him he has been with them since they were puppies when he was then 3 and he has made them lie down his down with his tail between his legs and whining because he is an expert in fighting big dogs and all that happens in Sweden so you know we have very different laws you in ussa like this if a dog is bitten it will not be killed but that will be a high fucking fine
Not gonna lie I would believe if that dog was intimidated by the Bullterrier. As a Staffie owner I understand that those little guys can be too much for dogs their size and sometimes even bigger dogs 🤣
It may have some coyote in it. Definately a low content if it has any coyote genes tough. Compared to that earlier coydog Joel trained, this one mostly just gives weird vibes.

@rptrick79-You are the best! Thank you for all you do on this channel. You help everybody who wants to watch a part that they are particularly interested in. 👏🌟
as soon as i get the money, I’m definitely bring my boy/s to you
Great efforts to help this dog. Malinois mix, I guess.
Wow! Just wow!
My dog goes nuts when she sees someone riding a bike and she barks/lunges!😂❤🚴♂️
Wow, great content, looking out for the nervous system.
Excellent session! ❤
Great video Joel. This all makes sense.
Great video!
Not when it is still so strong. But it can help when the trigger reaction has mellowed a bit
Prince 'just sniff my butt dude and we can all get on with our day.' Thanks for the video Joel
That's a Tiekerhook Bloodline GSD...possibly VonYounghaus blood line.
If a trainer suggests not taking your dog out on walks, ditch the trainer. Every dog needs exercise and exposure.
@@rx6483 We did, now it is exposure but very slowly and not over whelming.
At my age I can still handle maybe 2 triggers at once but 3 is too much and I’ll lose it!
oh she was so scared 🥺
Prince is an amazing dog for sure! These videos are so useful! I have a mini schnazer and I call him little prince now cuz he reminds me of him! but I give I'm all the love and praise in the world he's a good boy!
Question about that right back leg shaking what did that mean ? cuz we just went right into the the Shepard being really good with the bull terrier.
@beckman'sdogtraining
Hey Beckman, my 7m.o Rottweiler puppy is a frustrated greeter and starts pulling like crazy if a dog/cat is within the “threshold”. It’s getting a little better and she’s very polite off leash. Would you consider this her being reactive as well?
Very very helpfull.
I've been struggling with my dogs friendlyness towards other dogs than my 2nd dog
I used to take both of them to the dog park as pups and they were both great.
I wish I could send my husband to be disciplined by Prince 😂
Our dog is a corgi. He will attack but we thinks it is anxiety coupled with him wanting all the other animals to follow the rules.
Quite the tail she got on her there, is that coyote esk?
My dog was much like this one needing correction around other dogs, so she made one dog friend who she played with, and then another dog friend now meeting both regularly, and then meeting other dogs randomly in the park with her dog buddies, and now I can take her to the public market alone and strange dogs will come up to her, and she likes meeting new dogs.
bumb to rear end and pull doesnt work for me in leash reactivy, but grab to collar and watch in eyes seems to work
Oh, same here! That mid-size goober can stand as stable as concrete, but I can grab collar with a bit of cheek skin and voile, I only need to do that once a walk 😅😅😅
I know this isn’t the same video as the topic I’m commenting on. It was a podcast where you had mentioned a pastor you like. I’m not certain which video it was. There’s a pastor I listen to on RUclips that I’m almost certain you’d like. He’s super no nonsense. No sugar coating anything. Tells it like it is. His name is Pastor Ricky Scaparo channel is called “End Time Headlines” He has some really good videos and does evening podcasts a few times a week. I really hope you go check him out. There’s not many pastors like this gentleman!
Perfect opportunity to tell him to pull his dog back and not let her cut him off
Noticed she sat on the owner again in the yard after the scuffle with prince. She’s too much all over the owner in these situations
If the trigger is the house, how do you fix that?! Can't remove that trigger from the equation :)
What was it with the leg shake ? And why didnt you continue the training? I didnt quiet understand what you meant.
The shaking is the nervous system and when the nervous system gets too high dogs and people change, learning can arrest and they can act differently.
Wait, you get rid of the trigger, for how long, and why would the dog not return to it's normal state?
Princie is King. I have a girl Doberman and lover her.
this dog looks and acts almost exactly like mine-
My dog freaks out even if I'm nowhere to be seen & the other dog is 30ft away.....
Especially a wild animal that is a solo act in nature. Coyotes are NOT pack dogs. Wolves are pack dogs.
At 3:07, she met an alpha. At 4:21, she became Joel’s dog (joking). Great way to look at triggers.
Day 1 of asking for a video on how to teach a dog to not be petrified of fireworks
Great video leading up to the 4th of July. Keep reminding me please.
Malinois mix? 🇧🇪 🐊
Looks alot like my Mal mix.
this dog has a very coyote looking tail and shape. Prince is also the best boy in the world.
My dog doesn’t do the dance.. He starts posing like he is about to pounce.. No body movement and when the dog comes near he gives his best shot to bite. Not fun. And he is a Shihtzu
Its sad to see people have no clue what leadership is
Price has a job, it’s teaching other dogs,
Silent bob dog helper 😅
Enjoyed the video. Very informative.
15:34 story of my life
Excuse me I have a question about my dog and how to get rid of it ps this is google translated because I don't speak english very well well the question is my dachshund Herman and he is completely crazy he doesn't bite but he is crazy he is just copying with 6 other dogs no one else likes him it's an irish wolfhound a mutated pit bull because it's acceptably big it wags its tail and you get bruises and then three bloodhounds and then an australian shepherd they're all hunting dogs believe it or not it's not the important question is when me and Herman are out and meet everyone in a dog park or in a green yard, Herman the oldest 10 years old will start to laugh if another dog comes and then the others start doing what he does and then they attack it the other dog all 7 of them in a pack so the question is how are we going to end it and the other is why are they staring at him he has been with them since they were puppies when he was then 3 and he has made them lie down his down with his tail between his legs and whining because he is an expert in fighting big dogs and all that happens in Sweden so you know we have very different laws you in ussa like this if a dog is bitten it will not be killed but that will be a high fucking fine
Not gonna lie I would believe if that dog was intimidated by the Bullterrier. As a Staffie owner I understand that those little guys can be too much for dogs their size and sometimes even bigger dogs 🤣
But it looks like Prince is mad dogging her. 5:23 Is that not a thing?
I'd love to see a genetic test on this dog to see what she is.
Standard gsd behaviour
Look how many lip licks the coyote does when transferred to the owner
This is sad... you can see how the dog doesn't want to be like this but it can't help it
That’s dog is definitely part coyote
It may have some coyote in it. Definately a low content if it has any coyote genes tough. Compared to that earlier coydog Joel trained, this one mostly just gives weird vibes.
There's an entire segment of the human population that could use this training. lol...
Dog looks underfed. That will make more anxiety.
Nah just not obese he probably walks the dog the alot and feeds it raw
