Thank you for this video! I bought the Furick 12 cups and adapter. Your comment about stick out was very helpful as well. I’m new to tig and started with a CK Worldwide MT200. Excellent unit. This kind of info is what makes a difference in the world. 🤟🏻

If you haven't found him yet... Jody at welding tips and trick on youtube will teach you ALL you need to know about welding... check him out, the only thing i would add is a #12 cup really isn't for everyday use, I use a # 8 across the board unless it's an application that needs a lot of gas coverage and a long stick out, check out my other tig videos on my playlist. Thanks for watching and good luck with the tig!

Thanks. I know it's not rocket science but I'd rather watch it done than read instructions.

I’ve got the same Jazzy 10 Glass kit from Jody (along with 3 multi mix electrodes). On the cardboard box it says to moisten O-ring and not to exceed 175 amps. But it also says “Not Recommended for AC”. That’s news to me because I’ve been using Pyrex cups with AC and never seen that warning before. And I’ve seen Jody welding aluminium with clear pyrex cups. I’ve just seen on the Internet some mention of not using the ceramic cups with AC, which again is news to me. Can you shed any light on this please?

I think the skinny on that is the Pyrex isn't durable long term like the ceramic cups on AC and so they make that disclaimer...... I use Pyrex cups all the time welding aluminum, and I've noticed Pyrex is definitely not as durable as ceramic cups. Thanks for watching.

@@guzzifabrication3448 I contacted Jody at the Weldmonger store and this is the reply:
“The reason the box says "not recommended for AC" is because of the diffuser screen. It's my understanding that the higher temperatures of AC welding can melt the diffuser screen. “
That now makes sense to me, certainly if you were using high current. The diffuser is quite near to the arc and, unlike standard diffusers, is not part of the metal collet body.
