Thanks for the video! I can't help but wonder, if on the last weld you turned the gas flow up to 30 CFH, what would the first two welds have looked like at that flow rate? I just can't tell how much of the improvement comes from the different gas cup and how much comes from improved flow rate. Curious what your thoughts are. Thanks!

Also the glass is great(#8 pro) 2 of mine broke doin inside corner joints on aluminum(touched the wall when hot) but I still have TWO LEFT, from 9 months ago! Not bad for 35bucks lol I like the "moose knuckle" the best for steel/stainless...still have SAME ONE FEOM A YEAR AGO! replaces diffuser but ya, SO DURABLE. dropped several times. Also BBW16 W/ titanium shield is another great stainless/titanium cup(22-32cfh) w/ MY own gas of coarse. lol so for aluminum nowadays I been loving the pink ceramic tho, durable, adequate coverage(13-16cfh) saves gas(#6-#8ceramic) for alu, gets it right everytime man. Hey talk to u next time! Great video btw, u take those arc shots at end with your phone??!! I'm jealous however u did it lol, never captures one like that yet...also #5 cup standard Call it in call it body for aluminum also does a miracle cup for certain aluminum applications, saves hella gas too 10-12cfh

That comparison of traditional vs gas lens doesn't do justice. It would be much more reasonable to compare similar size cups instead of large vs small cups and claim that one covers more than the other. On small cups, a gaslens does pretty much no difference, but on larger cups, it does a lot of difference.

Hello Dusty, I am just getting into weldart on ss sheet metal: i started using a 250x250 mm x2 mm thickness sheet metal: i did some test beads and i can see it's better to use a number 10 cup to get colors; i tried a 12 and a 16, but on this last one i don't get any color at all.
The problem is that i choosed a subject with LOTS of details and considering the sheet metal, wich is pretty small; i'm in the situation that I can't use filler rod to get the needed thinnes of my beads; I'll try to buy some 0.6 mm rods (or I'll just use some 308 mig wire); but since you have a lot of experience in this field, I 'd like to ask you if it is possible to make some bead approximatly about 1/1.5 mm width using filler and getting some decent fusion on the base material; or if it is better to ho autogenous welding.
I think I rushed a bit this first project but I wanted to take advantage of christmas holydays to get into weldart, so I possibly choosed the wrong sheets; but now the local dealer is closed, so I have to get the job done with what i got.
Next time I think i'll go for a 400x400 x1.5 mm sheet, so it will be easier to get colors and I'll have a bigger draw to follow, so I won't have so many problems with complex subjects.
Thanks if You'll answer, apreciate your vids
