How to create a Cold and Dark cockpit?
It's very easy: select Cold and Dark in the startup section of the ERJ Configuration Manager.

Please note that this is a simplified startup procedure. If you want you can go in depth much more by reading the tutorial that comes with the product! Хобби
Awesome!!! Great job!! You helped me with understanding this. I actually enjoy flying this plane now.
Glad you worked it out, thanks for watching! :)
this turorial is very useful! it needs forever to read all the steps in the manual... but with your video its very quick and your english is perfect! thank you very much dude, it really helps a lot!
greets from argentina!
Good question! The aircraft automatically calculates the N1 setting depending on the data you've entered in the Takeoff Data section on the overhead panel as shown at 7:25. The T/O-1 mode is the maximum takeoff trust setting, ALT-T/O-1 is used for a reduced trust takeoff. So as long as you use T/O-1 mode you're already using the maximum amount of trust appropiate for the temperature you've entered.
It's really nice to fly this airplane on short routes, if I were you I'd definitely give it a try again! :)
Thanks a million. Really helped!
I swear to god, once i heard you're accent i KNEW you were dutch!
And you're youtube account confirmed it :)
Great video & thanks. Much better than reading tutorials ;)
Via the Embraer setup program called "ERJSetup". You can find it in the Flight Simulator 2004/Wilco folder. In there you can configure all kinds of things including the PFD type! :)
Great input and engagement, I have 3000 h on this one and it's good to see this video, thanks for effort
Thanks for watching! It's a rather old video, but this was a great aircraft to fly in the sim. Hope to see a new rendition of the ERJ series in MSFS :)
Not All Feel there products are top of the line but this is one of their better products! It encourages you to operate the aircraft as if it were the real thing! If you don't you will get all the warning alarms driving you crazy just like the real thing! The challenge is to operate it just like the real aircraft and that is why I give two thumbs up to this bird! It looks really detailed! Better than the POSKY freeware which comes very close to this one in detail, but barely!
@TheAnsarias I'm glad it's solved now! :) Thanks for watching!
Make sure that the gust lock (that yellow thing in front of the throttle levers) is engaged so that the throttles only can move a little and make sure the parking brakes are on. Then simply move the engine switch to the "STOP" position and the aircraft will do everything else for you! :)
Sounds good
Ok man, thx very very much for your quick response....very useful vatroute... since i am in eu (greece)...if i have more questions i will write to you :D, thnx again!
lol im an airline mechanic for the emb145, and in real life, you first have to test the APU fire test to make sure your ready to put out any apu failures. Also, you should also turn on both tanks so you don't have a disbalance on fuel weight, and on hot days, youll also want to turn on the packs right after the apu is turned on
+TheMusicboy316 Remember that this is just flight simulator. This tutorial is intended for those who want to quickly learn how to quickly startup an ERJ ;)
Junior music boy, you don't have to turn on both tanks. The apu just gets its fuel from tank 2. It cannot get it from both tanks at the same time.
If you wanna cross feed, you gotta open the cross feed valve. And that just allows to feed from 1 tank at a time anyway.
You have nothing to do with a fuel balance. The APU takes fuel from the right-wing by default. 2) you don't want to turn on the packs right away, bc the APU has a warm-up period. Hope you don't work for my company!
@@andrewstate9537 yup. 95%+7 seconds for electrical power and then 3 minutes to open the bleed
Thanks! I didn't know about VATSIM Oceania. I'll take a look at it :P
Thank you, you're welcome! :)
Thanks for the nice comment! I prefer video above manuals as well :) Thanks for watching!
Niceee video and good quality and very usefull thans;)
The trim indicator needs to be positioned in the green marked area. By moving it up, the yellow trim indication will also turn green.
@markajones83 It's a very good addon! Not everything in the cockpit is clickable, so the realism is not as high as PMDG or iFly, but certainly high enough and it's a great improvement from version 1. It's a very good plane for some regional and short flights!
Thank you! Oh I don't know that I'm afraid. I never fly to Australia and Asia and when I'm awake, Australia is asleep! :) They do have their own Vatsim region called Vatsim Oceania, so maybe you have to take a look on their website. Furthermore I can say that basically Vatsim controllers are only really active during the evening (local time). Ofcourse there are some controllers in the morning and afternoon, but not a lot. I still recommend to fly on Vatsim though! :D
Hahaha, that's correct mate! :) I can do the English and American accents as well, but as long as I live in NL I'll just keep this Dutch accent ;). Thanks for watching & commenting! :)
But cabin look like very realistic! Very good!
You're welcome! :)
It was my first realistic aircraft when I was 12🙏
Take a look at the screen in the middle, left of the gear handle. In the bottom-right corner you can see the trim indicator. The trim needs to be set in the green marked area for takeoff. You can find the trim switches on the yoke, but there are also default Flightsim commands to set the trim. Of course you can assign your joystick buttons to move the trim as well! Thanks for watching! :)
Yes, I'm using W7 64-bit, but I've never experienced any problems though! :)
I'm not sure about that. You can probably enter some different data in the FMC so that your T/O thrust setting will be higher.
No problem! :)
Great video. I just got this plane and searched for a cold & dark tutorial for it and noticed you have it :P
I use FSpassengers and have a regional airline operating along the east coast of Australia. I currently have one ERJ135LR and one ERJ145XR. I've used VATSIM before but I'm now on a new machine so I wondering if you know if there is much ATC coverage for Australia on VATSIM?
Cheers
Yes
Could be yes, sorry about that! I'm not really an Embraer expert, I'm more a Boeing man you know ;) Thanks for commenting and watching!
I almost never do that in Flightsim, because it always works :/ :D. Thanks for watching! :)
Is it the same clicking sound you get while moving a switch? It might be a software problem in that case. It might somehow keep playing the "click" sound for no reason, but unfortunately I don't know how to solve that :/
Hehe yeah, the truck drivers at Edinburgh do have some pretty good driving skills! ;)
Thanks for the tutorial. I was having a very hard time figuring out where the APU BLEED switch was ... somehow the resolution seems to suck on my laptop (despite it being 1600x900) and I couldn't read the labels properly on my panel. Once I saw you turn on the APU bleed, I had my aha moment and the engines started just fine :-)
You're welcome! Yes, they are a bit hard to read sometimes. Zooming in might help you out :) Glad it worked though, thanks for watching!
I watch this video several times, a very good video. It really helped me out to start my own ERJ 135.
But i do have a question. How do i shut down my engines? I have tried reversing the order, but that didn't help. I don't wat to just hit a keyboard command to shut down.
Thanks again for the helpful video.
Hey AviationPro~ Guja dag!! Danke weil maneer! Can you do a video illustration of the an Emergency QRH procedure such as Engine Fire or Engine Flame out on this Feel There Wilco product? Have you flown the real Emb 135 and how does the sim model compare in its FMS features to the real plane? Are there any dummy pages on this sim? Thanks and totsiens!
I can think about that! But I have never flown a real Embraer 135, only a 145 as a passenger! :)
Thanks for the tip! Do you use windows 7? and if so, do you have problems when flying the ERJ that after some time, it seems to freeze in the picture frame for 1-2 sec?
When using other plane is stays smooth all the way.
Hi! Routefinder doesn't always give you correct routes so that might confuse the FMS of the ERJ. For Europe I use vatroute(.)net and for the US I use simroutes(.)com. I have to say that the ERJ still doesn't always draw the route correctly, but I think that must be a software problem. Especially some SIDs and STARs of some airports I fly to aren't drawn correctly. I still need to figure out why that is :/
GPU was available and should have been used to start the APU. I don't know if this has been mentioned below being such an old video but its what we did on the line, especially in cold climates. If it's there use it
also missed out checking the pedastall and radio systems. there are loads of videos out there that show the correct procedures. depends how keen you are to realism.
@Nieuwskant Ik heb die addon (nog) niet. Opzich is de overhead panel wel hetzelfde, alleen de main panel is wat anders. Maar ik zal er eens naar kijken ;)
I have almost 50 hours in this aircraft but one thing I had always wondered is if there was an N1 limit setting for the takeoff thrust mode. I want to take advantage of Max N1 and disable any limits. Is there a page in the FMC where the engine performance and limits can be changed?
Very useful & compehensive tutorial. Thanks brother. Could you please guide me that, while followign the same sequential procedure, when I turn on the fuel pump 'on', it starts giving continuouse clicking sound. Can you please guide what mistake I am doing? shall be thankfl to you for your kind response to my confusion.
Everything should work, as it has been shown in this video. If your screens don't work you must have some kind of corrupted installation, so I can't help with that. ;)
If you want to make a modern guide for this plane, be sure to include the fact that you often need to do an Embraer restart
Thanks a lot for your great tutorial!!! It helped me a lot. I was finding it very difficult to understand the manual provided with the "legacy" add on. The instructions aren't clearly written. There is one notable piece of literature in the manual which i don't understand ...the "DH switch"?? And the manual says, "press it for 5 seconds to do a test". I can't seem to find it in the cockpit. Maybe you have an idea where it is...?
You're welcome! That should be the knob with which you set your decision height. It's between the two needle selectors on the Display Control Panel. Apparently you can push it to do a test, I never did that myself though. I will try it out tomorrow :P
AviationPro I think i found it but when i press the button nothing happens, the button seems to be inoperable? ... Also could you tell me where the "Take off Pitch Trim" is located? I've been pulling my hair out trying to find it!!! I did notice a panel below the flaps lever which says "Pitch Trim" And there are 2 rocker switches, and 2 red blocks on that panel, but they don't seem to be operational?? :S
Nice Vid ! (: ... Keep up the great work ! A few errors 1 is that you never armed the emerg. Lights and a couple more. Great tutorial nonetheless.
Hey! Is the E170 & E190 add-on better than the E175 & E195? Great video!
Thanks! No there is not really a big difference I believe, at least not in terms of VC texture quality.
How do you bring up the overhead panel like that. I couldn't control the t/o data from the normal view. In the real plane this is a necessity for icing conditions after takeoff.
Around 4:23 the oil pressure should rise following N2 increase.
Wrong, you need to turn the APU switch to "ON" then wait for the flashing box around the APU % on the EICAS to turn solid, then you can start the APU. You can't just start it like that. It's also recommend you check your battery voltage before starting it too.
How to add livery?
hi, great video, but i have a dude, when i take off, the system say "take off trim", i don´t know where is this trim. Can you help me please? where i chech the trim and the take off configuration, thanks
May I discuss another issue for the same plane in FSX? Whenever in cruise, climb or descend, I switch off the A/P. The plan either plunges down or up, despite teh trim is showing correct. If flying in cruise, trim is zero & I switch off the auto pilot, the plane plunges down or up. I dont know why. Could you please guide me for this? I will not bother you more, this is last qustion from my side : )
Thanks for commenting and watching! :) Yes, I will make a FMS video in June as more people requested that, so stay tuned! ;)
dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf for the last few days :)
@Brayden Cason Definitely, I've been using Instaflixxer for years myself :)
Can you make a video that explains about the autopilot system how to use it and how to perform autoland please.I got confuse with the manual. :)
Casey Joseph I might do more Embraer tutorials yes, or maybe a full flight so you can see it in action :)
thanks Aviation Pro
when you start batteries what say the callout? power units ok, or all the units ok?
What size processer and grafic card do you use for your FSX?
When I turn on the fuel pump 'ON', it starts giving sound 'click' click' 'click' 'click, a continouse sound keeps coming. Anyways, goog tutotial, thanks !
I agree to an extent ! I have the PIC which until i bought the PMDG 737NGX, It was the only aircraft I flew and is an awesome aircraft to fly. So when I bought the 777 from wilco I was expecting the same quality but visualy and simulation wise was... and I reffer to my last feelings about it 'shit' !
I'm not sure how to do that on the Embraer FMC. Why don't you just update your AIRAC for once? :) Makes things a lot easier and you can go ahead for a while ;)
What are you referring to? (which part of the video?)
Have the same problems with the trim, still after using the default key, it shows up /down on the trim display. Still the voice says take off trim !!!
Hello Aviation Pro I Know this video was some time ago now, But Im looking to get it for fsx steam the v2 And was wondering if it is still worth getting now? (It's 9£ On steam now)
I really like this airplane, so yes it's worth it. But you should check if it is compatible with FSX steam, because I'm not sure about that.
Again I must reffer to my previous comment if you just look back, I said when I 'PURCHASED' the wilco 777. I do not rate and slate products I my self have not had the opportunity to fly. I never said that 'Feel There' as a whole, was a bad developer of paywere add-on's, I merely expressed my opinion on one of their product I PURCHASED. I have several add-on's from 'Feel There' which I agree with you 'top of the line' but their 777 was lacking ! The PIC is the classics 737-300-400 & 500 series
That would be an elevator issue. Do you use a joystick?
is there a way to overide the fadec on takeoff, most of the times the runway is to short.
Hi there!...I would like to ask you something...Well when i use routefinder to create a route for my airbus x or pmdg all are going great...but with te erj 145 i can understand how to program the FMS in thhe FLT plan section....when i enter the route from routefinder and activating after that i check my route through SKP button (you probably know) but here is the prob all is fUcked up in the route, so i suppose that routefinder doesnt work for the erj in creating a route..pls can you help me?
Loved it and learned a lot! Is there a chance you could make an FMS video or recommend one by some other users? Way too many useless YT videos out there, sadly. :(
Hello,sir..may i get link for download this aircraft n view of the cockpit (fs2004)?
I don't use FSX, I still use FS2004. See my channel description for the specs ;)
What computer do you use?
HELP!!! I love this aircraft but I have one thing I just can't figure out. The problem is that the airacs are completely outdated, so I have to enter the coordinates for a lot of waypoints manually. However, I cannot figure out the format to enter the coordinates. Do you know how to and can you give me an example?
Not all procedure had been performed before power up. Particularly voltage, fuel quantity, fire system tests.
Yes, this is just the basic startup itself, you can do all those checks if you want to yourself. And indeed, the cabin looks great on this airplane. It flies very smooth and it's great for flying short routes! :)
Can you please give me a quick rundown of this aircrafts VNAV capabilities? I know it will not fly a descent automatically but will it at least advise you of needed FPM to make a crossing?
The Lowmein It doesn't have much VNAV flying capabilities, it will just calculate altitudes for you for each waypoint and it will also show a vertical path indicator when you are crossing your top of descent, but indeed you will have to use one of the manual vertical modes to descend the airplane.
Hello i have the soft ware but it wont let me do anything in the cockpit
Great, overall, although I would suggest using the 2D panel for this type of detailed discussion rather than the virtual cockpit.
+Todd Scull Thanks! Yes I know, I only realized that after making it. I could have zoomed in on panels here and there. Thanks for watching! :)
+Todd Scull I disagree too; very few people are using 2d panels toda;y. To that point, they're a legacy option that most 3rd party dev are omitting from their addons...why use a feature being phased out?
Good point; I hadn't thought of that. I'm still in the Dark Ages with FS9!
Me too ;)
+Todd Scull meh, to some extend, we're ALL still in the dark ages; after all, FSX/P3D are based on a 10+ year engine. Hell, both are still 64-bit....
Well maybe my processer "1.5 cpu" or grafic card GMT 420 is not good enough.
Like when i have download ERJ airline or the new Traffic the whole FSX goes down with " fatal error has occoured" and have to start up agian.Very annoying!!! Have any exsperience there??
Hm, yes I had same thing when I used to use key board for take off. But, i am not finding whats the problem now with this plane. anyways, thanks for your time mate. Takecars
Yes I use joy stick. do you know what is the mistake from my side?
Hi. I was wondering how you can get the co pilot voices that go over the checklist because I can not seem to get those sounds. Also I cannot seem to be able to start the flight from the cold and dark position. Thanks
Steven Levy I think you need a seperate addon for that actually. And about the startup, if you follow all the steps properly it should work!
Steven Levy If you're talking about the checklists that come with the Feelthere ERJ, that's their "Call!" feature. You should find it in the views menu while in the simulator, views -> instrument panel -> checklists. That should pop up a little box with all your checklists on it. Just click on each one and the co pilot will run you through each.
To get the plane to start in cold and dark mode, you need to tell it to in the erj configuration program. It should be in the FSX/FeelThere/Erj folder, called "ERJSetup". Run that program and you should find the setting to make the aircraft start as cold and dark.
I think that's what you were asking, hope it helps!
How do you setup this aircraft in cold and dark start mode? I tried many ways but I failed
Abhishek Wagh in the add on manager
I'm keen to realism, but in this case I only wanted to show the actual start-up procedure, not everything around it. That's a person's own choice whether he does those safety checks or not. It would just be too much for this video and at least people now know how to start the plane up.
You didn't do the APU fire test. ;) jk. Nice plane and very cool video. =)
what about safety systems check?
What is Check A1 Perfil ?
Well, with a joystick there should be no problem. In the very very past when I used a keyboard, sometimes the elevator would be stuck in a certain position and when disconnecting the autopilot the aircraf suddenly made a climb or dive. But I don't know the solution to your problem mate :/
How do you download it
Check my channel description for that :)
Where did you get your liveries?
Avsim mostly :)
How to add them
Strange :S Maybe you can try the forums ;)
He's right though!
on the cold and dark checklist you can use he says fmc whats he mean programe it or what ? thxs
Say again in clear English please?
its ok i worked it out , and yes i am english ,, its a nice plane but hard to understand my first flight egbb to eglc all went ok follwed instructions got into the air auto piolt on ended up over blackpool , i need to work out how to get it to follow programed route thxs
FMC programming requires some good reading of the manual indeed, but after a few flights you will be OK :)
how do you pull up the configuration page?
+flex gaming The configuration manager is a seperate .exe file that you can find in the Feelthere installation folder.
That's what he says right? :)
Of course, you also have to buy an addon like the Wilco Feelthere ERJ Series.
how do I put an airway into the fmc?
+TupolevPilot By putting AIRWAY.FIX in, so for example, UM197.REDFA
With that name you should be in the wwf....I bet you get a lot of dates.
Where can i buy it
+Darsken Here for example: secure.simmarket.com/feelthere-embraer-regional-jets.phtml
