I remember sitting in my primary school classes just before lunch break and watching this, not having a single clue what was happening, I'm 24 now, makes me feel so old. A simpler time for everyone. God I miss being that little innocent kid.
There's nothing like this on TV for today's kids. The schools programmes have been replaced with antique and property shows and most of the kids channels I've seen seem to show either cartoons or American high school shows. As far as I know CBBC is the only kids channel showing homegrown shows, or am I wrong there?
It's literally a gerbil walking in the shape of a number repeatedly to cheap Mexican music, but at the same time it's awesome. El Nombre! Writing numbers in the desert sand!
Thanks so much for posting this! I'm nearly 23 and I used to watch this all the time in the 90's. It's a nightmare trying to explain what this was to people. They either don't have a clue what I'm talking about or can't remember it. Thanks for bringing this masterpiece back into my life! :)
omj i used to watch this every time i came back from nursery that was good times of my childhood im now 21 cant believe this program influenced my childhood
Never forgotten Over time Severely missed, but Time flies And those who hate oldness Loose yourselves Genuine, this video is I treasure this memory in my mind And remember it until I die.
I remember El Nombre when I was at School. I have a feeling El Nombre was so popular that he had his own show and had The Wicked Don Fandango as the antognist
When we had a student called Andre from Russia come to live with us for a while I remember me and my sister singing Andre, Andre to this song (as it sounds El Nombre when you say it quickly) behind his back as we were always making fun of him. Good times! Lol. Fucking loved this programme so much!
Still have trouble spelling the word number because of this. Come to realize nombre doesn't even mean number. Not sure if this hamster should have been guiding my early education.
Let's be honest here. if you were watching this at home on the TV you were skiving off school, come on. Don't try and con a con! I can't still taste the chicken noodle soup and lucozade OG my mum used to get me for my fake cold/cough 🤣
I was just (re) watching breaking bad (a scence in Mexico) and this came into my head , I was born in 1991 and remember watching this around 3-5, this was great. 😂

Proper loved maths as a kid thanks to this legend
OH MAN! When I was a kiddie, I'd walk around to the shape of a number in my room just like El nombre! Ah, good times
"Anyone alive can draw a five!"
"Oh el Nombre, mamma is dead."
When we had a student called Andre from Russia come to live with us for a while I remember me and my sister singing Andre, Andre to this song (as it sounds El Nombre when you say it quickly) behind his back as we were always making fun of him. Good times! Lol. Fucking loved this programme so much!

Amazing to think that Little Juan would grow up to be famous paper towel pedlar, Juan Sheet.
I always thought there was some deep meaning with his name, then I found out it is literally just name XD
I never realised this was educational
Great
only the 90's kids understand

Bobby Mungler
Yeah I watched repeats of this in the 00's
Steve Woodward Nope. I'm a 70's kid and I remember it. In fact, I woke up this morning and Googled it!
