I cannot wait to have one for me but it would also need to have a gun range. For Atlas Survival Shelters a gun range would be a piece of cake. There are a few companies that do underground gun ranges but not like Atlas.
There is a house in a nearby town that the homeowner had a concrete culvert put in that goes out from the basement under the lawn and sidewalk to the street and they used it as a gun range. The house is for sale, too. If I remember right it is 4 lots on the block, 2 lots in front and 2 lots behind, with the house on the 2 front lots with garage and lawn area in the 2 back lots. It is quite a place. But the owners are definitely empty nesters and looking at retirement so they are downsizing.
I love this video! I am going to build one of my own one day, I have just never understood posting these builds online, my thoughts is that these things should be secret ...
Ron, have you considered using the Form-A-Drain system when having the pads poured for the modulars? That would take care of 90% of any drainage issues around the bunker. It would be interesting to see a price comparison between this bunker system (gun room/bunker/generator pod/access point(s)) and a similar layout built using ICF
💡I doubt you'll get a response to that, because the buyers aren't thinking long term and they believe everything that they're being told by who they THINK is a survivalist specialist😂👍
One with a little bit of experience in welding, manufacturing, mechanics, digging holes or trying to build something strong, sealed and nice underground can EASILY spot why ATLAS are the only bunker worth buying. I can spot experience like this with my eyes closed. Great job on this project and hiring the right tools for the job! Can be done cheaper, but not right with less $$$
Well, i really love what you do.. Honestly it be a whole lot quicker with more experienced operators, I'll say that. I'm a heavy-civil construction superintendent in nyc. I can barely wait until I get a few matters into court so I can get Ron to put in a few shelters on the farm(s) I intend to own! I already know exactly what areas I'll be getting the land in and what I require for the properties to be suitable for myself and what crops I'll grow on them from luxury timbers and truffles to rare native spices and so on. Ron I will be wanting to have you as the foreman on all properties aswell as I really need the discretion of all parties involved to be foreigners (your own crane operators and truck drivers everyone)!
I said this before you should get handsfree coms to use between the crane operator and one of the ground crew especially when setting blind for the operator. You build the best bunkers.
Really enjoyed the rigging on this but noticed a couple of things that I’ve never done. How chain the legs were set. Lifting eyes or Lift points or shackle points. NZ and Ozzy Rigging codes. You would use locals obviously. Retired Rigger. Would be interesting to get a visual on the cranes load indicator.
Absolutely incredible engineering that went into this secret bunker...and also the cost ..only mega mega mega money people can do this over kill project .
This is actually one of the smaller floor plans. I was looking on their website and they have some pretty incredible designs. But yes at half a million dollars or more ill never be able to afford one haha but I can still dream!
Pretty amazing. Amazing how many rich amd retired military are doing these. Times are scary. I'd like to have a secondary tunnel 200 ft long away from there. Or to sneak into my deer stand.
You provided a good base for the bunker, but would it also be possible to have a concrete sarcophag around the whole shelter, as additional protection? What would the cost implications be for something like that?
From my experience in property management seeing buildings settle over the years I'd be concerned about that concrete stressing and breaking the steel over time
I feel being that deep in bedrock that pad should be more than good. Now I've heard houses on the same thickness slab can settle at frost level by code. They hit solid rock in most places that deep
I ever get one im going to have it done near a natural spring so can have a better more reliable water source, filtration, maybe some lights to simulate UV or sun..
This reminds me of central Texas, you have bedrock a few feet underground, if not exposed. At least in Central Texas the bedrock is soft limestone. Great for wells though.
Amazing Job, the owner should have poured cement Footers wall where the legs are , that way under the bunker would be hollow water tight extra storage , that's just food for thought for the future , keep up the great work.
*_For a 'BIG BOY' Bunker you need a BIG BOY excavation done with BIG BOY heavy equipment..._* Top part of the bedrock was weathered and could be removed with good trackhoe. Why would you put your escape tunnel in the gun room? So that anybody who sees the above ground exit can enter through it and steal your guns while you are on the other side of your heavy-duty $10,000 fort Knox door?
Won't do much good if anything happens. If some bad happens you'll still be stuck mostly without air. And if someone wants you out they'll still attack the air intake even if its water
I'll never be able to afford one of these but that doesn't stop me from watching and appreciating the quality work!
Right? This is amazing to watch and you can see the quality of what they do....but one of these would cost more than I make in a decade it seems
