Yes I would appreciate a GIRB tutorial- how to get info from Sail Docs started. Many thanks. Additionally, how do we install paid charts ? Eg. Bahamas?
You can get charts for the Bahamas from o-charts.org or else you can make your own. We just released another OpenCPN video about it: ruclips.net/video/ZmLm1A4INQI/видео.html
LOVED this video! Thank you. Interesting that the options for plug ins differs from MAC to PC. My tablet doesn't have polars in it, but my MAC version does. Would love to see a follow up on how to get grib files. Thank you SO much for these vids!
I'd like to know more about getting data into OpenCPN. Grib files, charts, all that! How about an overlay for Windy, that would be great 🙂. Thanks for the video David!!
Thanks David and Amy, another very informative episode. We really appreciate your efforts to share your thoughts and adventures with us. Stay safe we love y'all.👍🏻👍🏻💕💓🐾
I cannot thank you enough for these OpenCPN tutorials. I've tried some other tutorial videos and found them unwatchable. If I can request, any chance on tutorial for loading MBT tiles? And one for integrating Google Earth?
I made a computer system that can produce gribs as soon as satellite and ground station info is newest. Custom gribs at high or low resolution and can follow a boat or plane.
Sooo good videos! Thank you! I am trying to figure out IF rumours are true regarding using an iPad with OpenCPN in our cockpit? What is the latest regarding works or will nots on iPads?
Weird quirk, on my MacBook Pro when using the calculator the data input box is only one character wide. There doesn't seem to be any way to resize it. The functions still work, but you just can't see the full data that has been entered.
Hi guy's I have been using opencpn for about 16 years and installed it on laptops as I update them I have windows 11 on a new Ailienware laptop and cant get my charts to load the first charts I had were 2006 but now have 2011 (the whole world) any ideas why they won't load or what do I have to do? Thanks in advance Laurie
Hi Davide, just started my life with OpenCPN and am finding your tutorial extremely helpful. I am trying to uninstall older chart import program oesenc (I think that this is correct) but am being asked for a password, could you let me know what the standard password is? I have tried "0000" but it is not working! I would much appreciate your help
It does look like there are some Raymarine radars compatible with the radar plugin. But I've never tried it so I can't offer too much advice. There are a few pages that get a bit more technical about how to integrate Radar into OpenCPN: github.com/opencpn-radar-pi/radar_pi/wiki github.com/opencpn-radar-pi/radar_pi/wiki/Raymarine-radome-model-support
Love the videos. However, I feel that you are giving bad press to Open Source software. Most of the world run on OSS that are extremely stable and do not have odd bugs as seen in OpenCPN.
Yes. Neither OpenCPN nor any plugins I see appear to be developed in this century. And the dependence on keyboard/mouse/internet is just silly. We should have an ecosystem able to operate unconnected.
A video on GRIB will be great. Thank you for this video series.
Thanks so much for this series! Hope you make a watchlist for these.
We do indeed have a playlist with all our OpenCPN tutorials so far:

Thanks You make using OpenCPN understandable- I’m now ready to get my favorite plugins installed.
Have fun!!
Awesome videos. The auto creation of polars is so cool. !

More info on charts definitely upcoming! And I wish I had the programming skills necessary for making a Windy overlay plugin. That would be awesome!
Brilliant and thank you. Yes please for the Grib down loader video 👍😃 BTW we met you guys in Puteri 🙏
Thanks, very informative, adding video on GRIB would be awesome

Thank you for posting this!
i love the weather routing plugin
Is there a plugin to see my night vision camera? It has cvbs output or HDMI. Thanks

Now THAT sounds like the way to do weather!

I'm trying hard to like openCPN David! Can I use the radar plugin on openCPN to view radar images from a new Raymarine radar??

the biggest problem with opencpn is it desperately needs a decent UX person to fix the shitty interface
