During the Covid shutdowns, not one employee had to be laid off or placed on part-time work because the brothers had saved an entire year's income as an emergency reserve!!! Most important hiring criteria for the Miniatur Wunderland: 1) you have to be a grownup kid with all the imagination and fun to try things out. 2) the ability to dream of the impossible and make it possible. I love this team that is not about profit, but about fun.
I followed it back when they were building the track. It was the time of the Covid lockdown. The miniature wonderland had to remain closed. One of the main problems was water evaporation. Because then the sound is no longer correct. Until someone came up with the idea of putting a drop of oil in each glass. This greatly slowed evaporation.
Greetings and Love from Cologne, Germany again. To answer your question: " 20 classical tunes were played on 2,840 glasses over a 211 meter long track. I saw alot reactions you have done. I think these two videos of the Miniatur Wonderland are my favorites. Your expressions got crazier each time you discovered a new breathtaking detail during this trainride. Damn, so awesome😅😅
@@MiniaturWunderlandOfficialyou guys are simply incredible! There's no words to describe your magnificent Miniatur Wunderland, and the cherry on the top? The replica of your Miniatur Wunderland, inside the Miniatur Wunderland itself! Just amazing! Greetings from Italy!🤩
D, Hi. This was during Covid, when they had to close the MiWuLa (Miniature Wonder Land) for months. Those creative minds had to do something or go mad. so they decided, to do this. I realy strongly recommend their YT channel. You will have so much fun. Elmar from Germany, Great that you love our crazy geniuses in Hamburg. They even renovated the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck for this year.
This was produced during covid-time when no visitors were allowed to be there. The maintenance staff had some time left so an idea came up to set a new world record. The problem was tuning the glasses, as after some hours water evaporated changing the tunes. They found a solution to this problem. People working there are crazy for perfection. Now on March 24, there is an updated documentary film shown in cinemas here in Germany - maybe in America too.
Hi D, Im living near Hamburg am I am in the Wunderland 2 times a year. I was there over 30 times. I know the Wunderland from the early beginnings till now. I also made 1000 of the sunflowers of the big sunflower field. If you will ever come to Hamburg, tell me and I will show you the Wunderland with a lot of background stories. There are also magazines from the Wunderland for every part of the Wunderland. If you want them, then tell me and I will buy them and send them to you by post. They are also available in English, as far as I remember. Greetings from Udo
Well, that's what you get out of it when youre in Covid time and don't know what to do, it's 26 songs, 2800 glasses. At the lookdown, of course, you have space in the empty wonderland. And of course a new world record, although I'm not even sure that anyone has done this before!! The Wonderlands are all crazy, but in a positive loving way!! That's why I like Wonderland so much, I've been there 25 times now and I'm sure that I haven't seen everything, even with 25 visits! Btw it's a concert of DJ Bobo a swiss artist, it's in the swiss part and so it has to be swiss artist, and a another funfact when they open a part, the opening is with the ambassedor of the country they had build.
It was a nice idea of the twin brothers to keep their employees during lockdown on such a project - it’s just beautiful… Btw , I learned when they open Monaco 🇲🇨 with the F1 racetrack -they will publish a new general video including Rio de Janeiro and Patagonia
The downward part of the track at around 9:35 was one of the hardest parts to prepare, as the train must be very careful speedwise to not throw the glasses off. (I have seen a documentation about this record).
You should see the "Shadow-Stations" where all the Trains are parked which are not on the Track or needed to be repaired. THose are under the Mountains or under the Tracks ^^
I did send you an E-Mail with an documentary that goes around 40 minutes. Thanks to your answer I know that you received it. I hope you will make a reaction to it. In this documentary a lot is explained like how the volcano is made, why its not a Rammstein Concert and a lot more. You will be part of the work involved for italy and much more. A lot behind the scenes over all. I hope you find the time to create a reaction video to the documentary. regards.
This is what I found as description in a video by a German TV channel that was broadcast prior to that event: "The Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg wants to set a new world record in 2021. To do this, a team of fifty prepared a 220-meter-long model railway track with over 3,000 water glasses. A locomotive is supposed to hit this as it passes by, causing a medley of 27 pieces of classical music to sound. The preparations are going well, but there is a train accident on the descent in Switzerland. Can the world record still be achieved?" Now we know that it worked!
It was the time of Covid, and they couldn't open the wonderland. What do you do, if you are bored ... a world record and show the wonderland to the public. At the end, you were in Italy, Rome, with the Kolosseum and the Vatican.
sitting here the early morning hours 6:20 am . . . JAWDROP ! ! ! Strange thoughts running thru my brain with WARP speed thinking of the movie 300. "this is Sparta !" . . . but the Miniatur Wunderland is exactly what the name says "this is Germany !" Damn, we Germans are cursed to be perfect with everything we start. Clouds in the sky, thunder and lightning, an outbreaking vulcano, the collosseum in Rome, vatican city, burning houses in the streets, millions of glasses and a train playing music, they didn't miss a single fuckin thing ! ! ! Doch, an Rammstein haben sie nicht gedacht 😞 Who did they recruit to do all this ? And Army of 8-arm octopusses doin 10 jobs at the same time ? need coffee now, back in a few Baron, PEP cars V8 U.S. car club, Frankfurt Germany
Friend, this was Italy, the Colosseum and St. Peter´s Cathedral, the church of the Pope. You will NEED some days to discover this fully now, because they put in South America and Antarctica in the other House on the other side of this channel.
This is made while the Wunderland was closed by government during Covid-lockdown. So the place was empty, but there was another big problem during covid lockdown for the Wunderland. They discovered that they had to run the trains on a regular basis, or they would stop working. When they run toytrains for 15 hours daily, they have to keep them running. So people had to come in and run the modeltrains. While doing that somebody came up with this crazy idea, and they started doing it. You can see a nurse taking a Corona test on Frederik in the video. A lot of their workers came voluntarily because this was better than sitting at home. There is a "Lockdown Update" #9 and #10 episode from Miniatur Wunderland about this crazy setup. Theres a "Weltrekord-Fahrt Modelleisenbahn spielt Musik" by YT-channel Kabel Eins. ruclips.net/video/KKxJYEK3Nx0/видео.html . They used over 3.000 glasses for this rekord. It was 27 tunes.
The second song I think was the Nutcracker? Frederick and Gerrit Braun founded the business around 2001. 15:21 If I've seen this correctly, Frederick Braun is also filming with his mobile phone.
there was not enough space to build a second rail to film this train, and it wouldn't have caught everything when turning back and forth along the curves. thus they used a mobile phone (as could be seen in some scene) and did a relay run, with many of them filming some part and then giving the phone to the next one over and under and along that track, and over and under and along the pathes and up and down stairs, in and out of rooms, etc.
They are in TV each week on DMAX hd, with the same title, since the last big video they have built even more, at least a new town per year or country, there crazy but good, travelling 8 hours there and back just to see them at my age is a bit too much, but it's on my bucket list. 😊
This was not the first worldrecord for the Miniatur Wonderland: ruclips.net/video/vC-dmKHiCnY/видео.html - Ona can pull a real world locomotive with 85 minature ones ! (spoiler: the video is only in German)
too bad that they had to take measures against evaporation and added oil to cover the surface of the water, and that they couldn't use wine that would have evaporated even faster. else i would gladly have helped them emptying the glasses afterwards :-)
FYI: During Covid lockdowns the Wunderland had to be closed, so the crew was bored and came up with this idea.

That had a lot of spare time during the covid lock down. And,i guess out of beiing bored, they are coming up with this idea.
From the moment a glass has been tuned the water starts to evaporate, raising the pitch..

I think the engine of this record is now in their museum.
Imagine your job for the next week is to "tune" thousands of glasses filled with water :D
Corona was one positive thing in this record. They needed not to close the Wunderland, as it was thanks to corona already closed (Masks, Tests etc.)
The correct answers could be found first in the comments of those videos. Then they posted it somewhere on some homepage too I think.
Nop those guys doing this a full-time job. And they make plenty of money out of it. They made there childhood dream(s) true.
